    In this video, I take you through most of the process of what it takes to get this mower running. It still sounds odd when blades are not engaged, so I will be making a future video. Thanks for watching!

    I wish I lived in a bigger place. I am trying to find things like that, people leaving mowers and things out for free. I want to fix them up. You got really lucky.

    I had that very same model and spent $289 to pay a "factory authorized dealer" to repair the drive system. It turned out to be two tiny springs designed to actuate a tab that engages the rear wheel drive cogs. When that repair didn't last more than a few months I pitched the mower, and I still regret it to this day. It was the best mower I'll ever own. Thanks Bob for this one and proof that it's hard to kill these Hondas.

      You could have put a new transmission on for that money. It doesn't make sense to me for the dealer to charge that amount. They should quoted you the repair price and the replacement price. I thought you do most your repairs yourself?

    • @aleblanc3547
      @aleblanc3547 6 років тому

      They did put in a new transmission, but didn't change those tiny springs. The little bit of lube they put on 'em during the transmission swap worked for a few months. Back then I had too many irons in the fire to work on it myself, so I bought a new Honda mower (cheaper model this time) and by the time the new one started going south, I had the time to figure out what was going on and how the dealer had misdiagnosed the original problem on my first mower. Great mowers, but not one the dealers are used to working on in my area apparently.

    That Honda is a great mower. Has the GXV engine on it. I’ve been looking for an older one like this.

    DW, your gas line puller is ideal for pulling ropes through also. Man I love that line puller, it’s awesome!

      All of them are fixed up including the tractor. One of the 2 cycle snowblowers I pulled the engine just for parts. I got 4 working machines and an echo hedge trimmer that I am waiting on a Chinese Carb for it.

    Great find Bob. Those Honda mowers seem to run forever I had that exact model of mower one pf the main reasons I replaced it is on that model the deck height only goes to I think 3 1/2 inches and really needed a mower that would at 4" so I went to a newer Harmony that will go to 4" on the height adjustment. Hope your buddy brings over the mower he took home. LOL be looking for the videos on the other freebies you picked up. It has been a long winter this year it was spitting snow here today . Have a great weekend. God Bless you and the Family Buddy. !!!

      I got back the tractor from my buddy. It is the little one that I fixed the seat in last video. I have a Honda clutch video coming up next, with the harmony hrm215 mower.

      The way it was acting when you engaged the blade I was wondering if it needed a clutch.

      Yes, it is funny how everything piles up at once. I kept buying broken snowblowers this year because they were cheap. I got 8 of them at once. I was going to unload them but I'm thinking I will hold them until next year. Good thing I have a shed.

      No you can't. I found that repairing junk that most people don't think is worth anything helps keep me up on my game. These weathered pieces require the most work.

    Did you make that cool spark plug tool? Never seen a long one like that with an end for an impact driver. Nice.

    • @doublewide6
      @doublewide6  6 років тому

      Yes, I made it works well for taking them out. You can use it by hand to hand tighten then torque with a wrench.

      Yes, I did not have a great snowblower season. We got a lot of little storms, so everyone was able to shovel fine. When we did get the big storm it was near April and melted the next day.
