Here's some highlights: The items found was coinshaped jewelry, possible hidden because of war or sacrificed to Frej (God of harvest) or some local deities because there had been 2 cold summers and harvest failed. They are digging now to see if there's a town, graves or perhaps a farmyard belonging to a wealthy viking lord connected to the findings. The early times of the vikings was a sort of feudal rulership (akin to what you see in Afghanistan today), where warlords made alliances, so war was everyday occurence and peace scarce (also like the early mayans if you will - my addition). The archelogist narrating expresses that this is a highlight of his career in so many ways.
Hil Odin, Hil alle magter (loosel7y translated to "Hail Odin, hail all creatures of power).

Responsible detectorists are the best discoverers of historical heritage. Virtually all recent major findings are done by hobbyists with these devices. A pity that it is such a hobby so pursued by regulators due to pressure from certain lobbies in many countries.
They are likely just removing the newer earth above any culture layers (the layers of earth where any finds are). I have been to talks made by some of these areologist, they are good!
