I would love to have you come go Aroostook County, Maine, in the winter. This is our tourism season due to the amount of snow we get. Snowmobile season, snowshoes, cross country skiing, sliding, ice fishing eith trucks on a lake, etc. It's also the part of Maine that truly sees all 4 seasons!!! ATV, hiking, hunting, fishing, leaf peeping, etc.
Just a little insight into this video. This was going to be a short form video for instagram, tiktok, and our @woltersworldshorts channel, however i got a bit over excited and made the video too long. So apologies as I know many people don't like the long form videos in this vertical form. My apologies.
I love that you made a video about my favorite spot! My family actually has a seasonal camper at the campground you stayed at! We call it Hid'n Pines, it's original name. In fact, you definitely passed by it since everyone who stays there has to pass it to leave lol
Quebec coney Island, LMFAO. It's so true but it's Boston's too while we're at it. 😂 Old Orchard is fun for a little afternoon on the beach but I prefer Kennebunk and Ogunquit.
I live in Maine. Took my kids to OOB all the time when they were little. I still go myself, but in May, September, or October. Pier fries are my favorite thing to buy at the beach
Grew up near there and worked at a sunglasses place as a teen / young adult at the base of the Pier. There are quieter beaches just south, (Ferry beach), and north of there, if you want to escape the crowds.
@@WoltersWorldShorts And Ken's Place seafood, about 4 miles north, is a hugely popular summer destination. My mom's summer doesn't start until she gets fried clams from there. (207 Pine Point Rd, Scarborough, ME 04074)
While in Maine maybe you could visit the Botanical gardens in Boothbay Harbor. We go every year and there is always something new. Right now they have giant wooden trolls in the woods.
lol right before you mentioned amtrak, i was looking it up. that's an awesome bonus! no driving and you have the option of hopping on to go to bar harbor too!
It makes it easy to fly into Boston and get to old orchard Beach for a weekend as long as you are staying by the beach and not out in Biddeford you don't really need a car while there.
You should definitely hop up to Portland and take the ferry/mail boat out to the islands in Casco Bay. It's beautiful and you can either stay on the boat and do a quick tour, or hop off and explore the islands.
No way! Finally in my neck of the woods :) I live in OOB! I always order ice cream by the SCOOP because then I know exactly how much I’m getting. ;) Too many child’s head sized ice creams that I couldn’t finish! Funtown/Splashtown is a great place for kids too if you wanna stop by! About 10 mins away. Awesome water slides :) It’s a Maine staple. Taqueria 207 is a DELICIOUS small Mexican Restaurant that I constantly go to!! Try it!!
Hey!!! Finally I love old orchard, I’ve loved your channel for years I’ve been at that beach recently wish I would’ve ran into you but we went to york instead. Anyway enjoy every bit of Maine’s beauty.
Hope you had a good time in Maine buddy. I know the water is a bit nippy but it was near 90 when you guys were there. You just need to take a run at it and not over think it. 😂 The motel you filmed at 1:21 into the video is the Americas Best Value Inn mount royal. That's where I stayed in OOB. It's basic but clean and has a pool and it's directly across from the beach. It's a shame you didn't get to Ogunquit or Kennebunk but from what you were telling me about your road trip it seemed like you hit alot of places in a very short period. Hope you guys had a great time though.
We have been to Maine a number of times, just didn't have many Maine focused videos. Filmed a "10 Shocks of Maine" and "eats of Maine" video as well on this trip. So hopefully i will make you proud :)
Long time Mainer here. Very disappointing that of all of the incredibly gorgeous beaches in Maine you would choose the one that is considered to be one of the least attractive, downright seedy and gritty and not where most locals who appreciate nature go.
Yes, please. I want to go somewhere in September and alot of options with no plans. I was thinking Utah or Main. I am open to anywhere though. First time traveling by myself.
@@cassieb1588 hey, Jocelyn here. You could do a leaf peeping tour in the NE. See Maine, VT, NH etc. Also, follow my friends Eliz on Means to Travel and Beverly at Asphalt Anthropology both are bright women with good info for us ladies.
I really recommend travelling to the New Jersey beaches and boardwalks. Not just Atlantic City, but also Cape May, Wildwood, and my favorite place Ocean City. Fun beaches, atmosphere, snacks, mini golf, arcades and amusement park piers. Definitely worth a visit and would be a great video!
East coast! Love Maine! Went every summer before getting more adventurous ha. Love how you and your family go everywhere. How do you decide the trips? Thanks for sharing
This year we were really wanting to see friends that covid has kept us apart. So that's been an overall theme this year. We saw a good friend in Portland, Maine which was wonderful. But usually we will ask the kidd for a place they would like to go, we ask our fans as well, and then it's kind of like, "where would be cool to travel to that we haven't been to yet?"
Hey Mark, I was wondering how you were doing with your diet. I hope this doesn't sound like spam but I've lost 15 pounds by eating half the carbs as previous. That's it! I still have cheat days where I eat donuts or pizza but I now have salads or veggies dipped in Ranch dressing instead of fries. Cheeseburgers? Yep, with a salad or nothing else. Lots of protein, cheese, etc.
Mainah heah, of all the incredible places in Maine, you choose to do video on OOB? The armpit of Maine. OOB is not true Maine it’s North Boston. Head further up the coast past Portland and Freeport to find out what Maine really has to offer.
The south coast between Portland and Ogunquit are the only place in the state where you'll find long stretches of beach like that. Anything north or south of those places are rock beaches not sand. Although I agree there are some amazing places north of Portland. Acadia is amongst my favorite parks in the US.
The trolley is a rip off. Places like Bethel, ME or Miami Beach have free trolleys for tourists. how cheap can old orchard be?!? Ever since the residents complained and ended concerts at the ball park I realized Old Orchard has become too lame. So many famous musicians played there for over a century then these old geezers complained and ended it. So over priced junk food there and hardly anything healthy to eat. I'll stay at my Mom's in Pine Point and avoid all the chaos down the road...
The video started off as a short but got too long so I just added more parts. Hence why the different locations. It was already filmed. So it is what it is.

We average 110 plus inches of snow starting in October and going into May sometimes.

Haha love that name :)

😀That's exactly how I thought of it when I lived there.
Brit here, first time I've seen an English seaside town in Maine. Sadly we don't have those blueberry doughnuts. Enjoyed the video.
I lived there a few years ago for a bit. It's an interesting combo of cute and seedy: some hotels there still had "We have color TVs" signs on them😀.
I saw that! Wish I had a pi ture of it to show.

Wow, so much has changed. I spent my summers there in 85/86

Blueberries 😋
Wonderful video!
The wild blueberries are AMAZING!!!!
@@woltersworld I would just love some wild blueberries in yogurt! Or pancakes!
Hey from 40 mins away... were you here this week when our temp hit 90 degrees? Lisa's pizza and the pier frie with vinegar are the best
We got to melt a wee bit while we were there this week.
Awesome video
Thanks T
Lived in the area 3 years, so we drove up to the lighthouse couple of times. Love ❤️ it! Thanks 😊, Amy

How to know a family tourist area? The abundance of mini golf. I may be an adult but still a great way to spend an evening.
Is it bad that I’m from Maine and have never been to OOB? 😂 also, I’m glad to see you finally got to Maine!
We've been to Maine several times. You'll have to do a UA-cam search for Wolters World Maine and see what you think of our other vids 😁

I've been there in August. Preferred Ogunquit but OOB's water was tolerable.
good to know :)
Maine water is always ice cold. Get Lobster on the lobster docks that's the cheapest way to get it
Is Stephen Kings (horror book author) house close to this ?
👍👍👍👍
Cheers!
Not a beach to go in the water, it’s too cold and honestly not worth traveling to go there unless you’re a local, in Maine is best to go to a lake
Please hold the phone correctly so I can watch it full screen? Half of the population holds the phone that way and it just sucks.
