Aris got me into Tekken because of his streams and UA-cam tutorials. Sad he doesn't stream anymore regarding the game but I came for Tekken and stayed for him. Been subbed for almost 5 years now.
the vehicle (the game), the driver (community), and the road conditions (other games) all helped to bring tekken to where it is today. who wouldve thought.. tekken is the r biggest its ever been; and despite the other factors that need to be refined, it’s still a big dub worth celebrating.
Noctis got in as a replacement for Cloud since the FF7 Remake was taking way too long to hit shelves. Cloud was joked about as a character cause of that custom Lars wig on T6BR(like Geese was joked about after that Eliza TRevolution reveal).
I’ll never forget the awesome feeling I had playing tekken 7 in season 1. It was so fun. There was some frustration first learning the game but first learning tekken was so interesting. Season 2 was fun also but it kinda fell off for me after season 3, there are a couple of factors at play for why. Me having trouble in matchups, me not adapting and also tekken fatigue. Having a brand new tekken would definitely be so great in a enjoyable sense. I hope they take what they learned in T7 and just make it better.
15:00 speaking of the cup of noodles with the noctis reveal does anyone know what video has the clip of Aris talking about how Harada walked up and apologized to him after the reveal
There's a huge barcade attached to my local mall, and it has 2 SFV arcade machines. The connectivity of battling someone online was actually not possible. I got matched up against a Ken 8 times and never even got into the stage once before the game said "Nope, back to training mode bitch"
Watching these 4 discussing Tekken is nostalgic. Reminds you how long you've been involved with Tekken. For me it's been T3 in arcade only, T5 on UA-cam only, T6 in gaming lounges only and finally owning T7 on Steam. And these guys have been around for most of this time, adding so much to the community and making tournaments hype 5x. Such charismatic people, I got to add a few of them on Facebook long back, they were like celebrities to me haha.

I think if another season of Tekken 7 was a thing, they have a big opportunity to add new stages. I wouldnt mind seeing multiple stages added with more types of breaks. It would be a good way to bring more depth to the game without doing too much.

I mean just watching online evo top 4 took maybe 3 - 4 hours if I remember correctly while an offline top 8 takes 2 - 3 hours
32:00 one similar thing to Paul's rage art is Geese deadly rave. He can stop before the last hit and put you in a mix up that can squeeze a little more damage if successful.
Yo new Tag mechanic After you bound next character comes in. They can either screw to extend the bound characters(initiator of tag) combo or wall carry (like before, so we can get those max damage enders)
That’d be kind of broken because you’re essentially doing 2 combos and then you’d end in wall carry and do the wall combo too. Then what happens when you hit a diagonal wall and then you bound into a screw to go to another wall. There would need to be a drawback when using either as a combo starter like bounds doing more damage but decreasing hits and screws doing less damage but allowing for better wall carry.
This game already feels archaic as fuck compared to what it could be within modern standards. The netcode is terrible, movement+hurtboxes are wonky, there are way too many characters and bloated movelists, etc. I really loved Aris’s idea of a new fighting game franchise made by the Tekken Team.
When it comes to tekken, I feel like throw breaks SHOULD be a knowledge check. It doesn't matter if you make me press 1, 2 or even 3 different buttons to break the throw, what matters is that the animation is clear enough for me to know what throw I'm breaking so I can know what corresponding buttons to break the throw with. Tekken 7 pretty much messed that up with some characters having the exact same startup animation for several different throws. I think there also needs to be a larger risk/reward for throws. If I break a throw, that should never be a setup for my opponent. I should always be at the advantage for breaking throws. For example, if I'm yoshi and my opponent breaks my normal throw, i can flash someone that's jab happy immediately after and win that encounter. That's stupid. Whoever broke the throw should be at an advantage. Also, one thing i do actually like about the throws in tekken is that some of the very high damaging chain throws can be broken and give damage to the opponent. King has a couple of these throws where if he throws the opponent and the opponent breaks it, king gets damaged. That's cool. Again, adding to my point that throws should have a more risk/reward aspect. In most other fighting games throws cant lead to half life or more gone unless you're the designated grappler character in the game. However, in tekken, there are a lot of characters that can demolish you off of one command grab. Bob, Law, marduk, Yoshi (on the floor break stage), jack and gigas at the wall, king, armor king, fahkumram, kazumi, asuka, josie, dragunov, paul, nina...and that's just off the top of my head theres probably more. I think the two tweaks tekken's throw mechanic needs are clearer animations made to be a speed where if you're on top of it, you'll break it and if you're sleeping you'll get grabbed and there needs to be a tweak to the risk reward. Marduk is a perfect example of what is right and horribly wrong with the throw mechanics in this game. The tackle with its variable active frame window is stupid. It needs to be a set window to allow for the break. The punches during the tackle were done fantastic though. You have just enough time, if you're on your game, to see what he is gonna hit you with and you can break it accurately, even if he fakes it. His ground throw oki was done horribly. Same animation, but different breaks. You literally have to guess the throw break, or get smacked with df1 while trying to get up back turned theres a 66% chance that you take massive damage and theres only a 33% chance that you either get off the ground safely or choose the correct throw break. That's so dumb. If he has ground throws, the animations need to be different for different breaks.
If they do release a season 5 I would go bonkers and add more SF & SNK characters Imagen seeing Irori, Ryo, Terry, or Ryu, Ken, Chun Li that would be sick that would pump new blood in this old game's heart and about the rollback net code If I was Harada I would build the next Tekken (just call it Tekken)around T7's engine or get as many assets from it as I can add a beta server were folks can test it out the new patches before the official release let players give you feedback before you add it this will give the dev the feedback he needs to balance it before official release not when its on the official version getting bitched at by Tekken fans I would also like it if they found a way to have cameras on the players if they do plan to push for more online tournaments cause just watching Tekken without the human interaction makes the game feel boring no matter what commentator you have on it I feel they can fix majority of the online issues by doing this but its just my two cents on this debate.
Bronson was right about what he said regarding TTT2 content creators (Aris, Rip) Ect crapping on the game...... Like it or not community figureheads have a great level of influence indirectly.........TTT2 could and should have been bigger than it was but it came out during a time when streaming was not the norm... and didnt have a world tour....it was the things outside of the game that made T7 successful
plus tag 2 came out when street fighter and marvel were dominating and everybody was playing those games, t7 came out when everybody sucked and had the time to grow in popularity
I think the commentary about the system changes bringing in new players is misguided. Having a good Steam/PC port with pretty decent netcode is what brought in new players.
