    Thankyou for this. My mother in law spoke Gaelic. She was from Arklow family name Wolahan.

    I love the Peig, but by my oath, many do not. But, I tell the young ones, you need to push through with it, or it'll be through with you.

    Correct me it I'm wrong, but I heard that she had to dictate the book to one of her sons as she was only literate in English.

    Irish is called Gaelainn not Gaeilge in West Munster.
