Thank you Dan, but clearly you haven’t been rewatching your videos then 😉 I’ve lost count of how many times I rewatched your red emperor video while looking for inspiration editing this video. Now every time I type Y in my search engine your UA-cam video pops up as the first option and I’m not even kidding 😂
@EthanYeo1 ~ Brah! Finally catching up after getting injured a few years ago! I really appreciate you sharing about your soul adventure... and am sad that many of the negative chatter even was in the thread. Nevertheless, all the heart and reflections you put into getting your dream fish not to mention too many hours to count of editing, I'm sure, resulted in an honest to God amazing story! Keep up the positivity as a spearo. I look forward to diving Australia one day! Hailing from the mainland!!! Dive safe and FISH ON!
Thank you Jonty, has definitely been a hell of a journey! Still remember getting my spear stuck in the star of Greece and not being able to swim down to get it out 😂
LMAO Ethan, my first thought was what equipment did you loose doing this LOL! Awesome Fish of a life time, great edit mate, well done, that was epic. The editing was epic, you will watch this for years to come! Great adventure! Dive safe, have fun!
Found this channel through Dan man, great video so cool to see the tuna and wildlife you see. Great catch ! Big tuna on my bucket list hopefully I’ll get one in the future !
Wow ethan, that’s incredible mate, what a fish, great vid, well edited & exciting to watch from start to finish, just a little bit envious over here atm😂congrats again mate👏👏😎
Been watching many tuna videos over the years, but this was a true blast! They are just returning to Norway, so hopefully it will be possible to experience it here sometimes in the future!
This video was insane the last time I was here I was watching you guys grab crabs and now our shooting blue fin tuna WTF!!! Got goosebumps when you shot yours congrats bro 👍🏼
Hi mate sorry but unfortunately I’m not living in SA anymore. My first UA-cam video and the biggest dusky morwong video were both filmed at Carickalinga though 👍
That's mad. I spent hours and hours trying to find tuna when in Victoria and no luck. Now up in Mackay I'll have to settle for a longtail tuna. Awesome video boss!!
Well done Ethan, great fish man. I watched it last night on the TV, when you said the camera wasn't on for the first attempt on the gun my heart sank for you haha. Well put together vid mate 🍻
I’m honestly not very experienced with targeting fish of this size but I’d definitely say you’d want to be over prepared than under as the last thing you want is the fish to pull your whole setup under and never see it again. We were running a 30m heavy duty riffe float line with 2 high atmosphere floats connected via a 3m bungee cord.
Thanks mate, yes I agree unfortunately UA-cam compresses the quality a ton too! I filmed this video last year in 1080p but since then have started filming in 4K and upgraded my camera gear so hopefully my quality only goes up from here 👍
Beautiful fish, but you guys should learn how to treat it, as soon as it's stoned, cut it straight behind the pec fins and gills and tail and get it bled out. When it's onboard, jam a wire up the spinal cord from the cut tail, then straight into an ice bath.
Hey mate I appreciate your comment and do get where you’re coming from. No doubt do I agree that these were beautiful fish and we did take their lives. It’s the circle of life though, for us to eat something has to die and spearfishing is how my family and I get most of our protein and I’d rather harvest my own seafood knowing exactly where it’s coming from over going to the shops. Since I started spearfishing I’ve developed a greater appreciation for the seafood I catch and it’s always in my best interested to show respect to the fish by taking care of it and using as much as possible. With this tuna it took me around 4 hours to process it all as I didn’t want to waste any of it and I even kept the frame to eat.
This is the best spearfishing video I've watched in years. Incredible stuff Ethan, amazing video, gargantuan fish and getting to dive with the don RT!
Thank you Dan, but clearly you haven’t been rewatching your videos then 😉 I’ve lost count of how many times I rewatched your red emperor video while looking for inspiration editing this video. Oh man great footage and story telling! My first time tuna hunting was so unforgettable too
You guys don’t use a fighting float to pull up the tuna? 😮 Cant imagine how hard it must have been just pulling up that line
Thank you for watching mate! No we didn’t use a fighting float but should have 😂
Such a good watch, those tuna must be insane to see in the water. So bloody huge
Thanks for watching mate! They sure were, the footage never gives it justice haha
That’s so crazy man! Well done and what a fish!!!! Love all your videos man keep up the great work. 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

hi is there a way you can do a video at Carrickalinga beach spearfishing please i am a big fan.
Hi mate sorry but unfortunately I’m not living in SA anymore. My first UA-cam video and the biggest dusky morwong video were both filmed at Carickalinga though 👍
Wow that’s a lot of sushi, love to see you shoot these huge fish!
Thanks mate, was eating well for a while 🍣
That's mad. I spent hours and hours trying to find tuna when in Victoria and no luck. Now up in Mackay I'll have to settle for a longtail tuna. Awesome video boss!!
Thanks for watching mate! Tuna can be frustrating like that hey 😅
Well done Ethan, great fish man. I watched it last night on the TV, when you said the camera wasn't on for the first attempt on the gun my heart sank for you haha. Well put together vid mate 🍻
Hahaha could you imagine how I felt when I heard it run out of batteries 😅 Glad you enjoyed it Kurt 🙂
You don't want to get tangled up in those lines with a fish like that on the other end. Crazy video Ethan 🐟🐟
Would be a horrible way to die, but at least you would die literally doing something you loved 😂💀 Thanks Max!
There you go brother. What a fish. As you said, you're just getting started. Waiting for the next vid Ethan. Always stay safe young fella. Peace.🐟✌✌
Thanks Paul! Yes hopefully the best is still yet to come 😁

Hi! Thanks for this amazing video :)
In your opinion, is my Cressi Cherokee 110cm with Ø16 mm double rubber enough for a small Tuna ?
Many thanks
What an opportunity mate!! Awesome video!
Thanks bro, very fortunate to have the opportunity 🙂

Hahaha I don’t doubt that one bit 😂 Rob is a living legend!
Awesome work mate.
Cheers Matt!
What coast was this fish shot at? Curious where bluefin get this big besides cape cod or the Mediterranean😅
South Australia 🤙
Love it
Hope I can get the chance one day
I wonder what is the minimum float line strenght / dyneema diameter you/they consider using for that setup.
Minimum float size?
I’m honestly not very experienced with targeting fish of this size but I’d definitely say you’d want to be over prepared than under as the last thing you want is the fish to pull your whole setup under and never see it again. We were running a 30m heavy duty riffe float line with 2 high atmosphere floats connected via a 3m bungee cord.
Heart pumping!
Nuts 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great catch. All that mess of line looks like a death trap for a spearfisher.
Thanks mate! Yeah definitely not ideal having 2 float lines, made sure it was 100% dead before pulling it up 👍
The only problem I can see is the quality you should film it in 4k mate, but well done, congratulations
Thanks mate, yes I agree unfortunately UA-cam compresses the quality a ton too! I filmed this video last year in 1080p but since then have started filming in 4K and upgraded my camera gear so hopefully my quality only goes up from here 👍
Well done brother, fish of a lifetime

Poor tuna, it had no fear around u and trust u
I guess it had been hand feed before
Not great, no adrenaline.
I don't know...feels wrong. Such joy, screaming based on killing a magnificent creature. Video is great and all but leaves me with mixed emotions.
