We use iphones to scan building details when doing fieldwork for scan to bim projects. It is ideal for scanning facade ornaments. It can be real useful for smaller scans, although it has it’s limitations in speed and precision, so for areas larger than a few m2 we wouldn’t recommend it.
@@Deanamite If it's for communication with stakeholders then maybe. Anything more complex than that would require professional equipment. For construction precision assessment or as built BIM modeling it is not suitable, because it is just not precise enough yet.
@@Craveplays We tried Pix4D and Polycam. The latter works better for us. We mainly scan historical buildings. We have a few videos uploaded about the scans that we achieved, feel free to check those out.
where is the part about how to use it? I thought we have the ability to scan an object and see it on our phone?
