I relaxed my daughter's hair when she was just 4. The hair was like sponge 🧽 and it was sooooo difficult to do anything good on it. I had no choice and no regrets as well. Do what works for you jor

I can understand you Alma. My daughter and I have that 4c hair type. My daughter cries a lot even with plethora of products i use. From taking out the braids to washing, the cry no be here. I am thinking of cutting the hair. She didn't also cut hair when she turned 1yr. Nobody will love your child more than you do. Most the commenters don't understand😢. No gel holds my daughter's hair. You will be make her hair, after 3days, it looks so old. Even as an adult who is on natural hair, it's a lot of work too. You both look amazing.
Same here, gel wasn’t working on Mia’s hair either. We literally had the same experience. Everyday I’m thinking of her hair cos it gets old so fast!!

My almost 4 year old daughter’s hair is also like this! Sponges up and tangles when not made. And when it’s time to make it for school it’s war most of the time. I have used conditioner and leave in conditioner, but still, and her hair is so beautiful and rich and healthy.. I might also go this route for mine and her sanity when she’s a little older ❤❤❤❤

Nothing can stress me in this life. I relaxed my 3 y/o daughter’s hair a month ago and my everything about managing that hair became easier. She loves it because everytime we wash it she says, mommy my hair is pretty. So yah

I got my hair permed at that age because my mom got tired of working with it. Actually, I was six. Eventually, my hair broke off, and it was never as thick and pretty as it was when it was natural. There have seen countless other articles and people that I know that they're parents have done the same thing and experienced the same issue. They wish that their parent had allowed them to make that decision. I was so glad to go back natural years and years later, once I was an adult.I had to unlearn that my natural hair was not unmanageable and it was beautiful. Just my thoughts...
It's not easy managing a toddler's 4c hair. I have a 2yr old who will be 3 in few months and I am really contemplating cutting her hair as I do not want to perm it. It's so much stress because she's always crying. From taking out the braids to washing. It's a lot believe me. In fact if you're present when I am taking care of my daughter's hair, you can't stand the cry. Ps: I am on natural hair too, I went natural about 8yrs ago when relaxer damaged my hair. So I use a lot of hair products on my daughter's hair and she still cries.

All what typed here is exactly how my daughter does, always crying when ever she makes her or when I want to wash her hair and she is also 3 years of age, I do not want to relax her hair, so I had to cut her it was so hard for me, I just had to cut her hair, it got to the stage even the hair stylist they tell me to cut her hair till she's ready. @@callistaolebara34

Please dont continue to use relaxers on her hair. Her natural hair is beautiful and full-there are good natural hair salons in Abuja that can help manage her hair like lynnnaturals. I've seen the damaging effects of relaxers, especially when it is done on a child. I'm 18 years natural and strongly advocate not to add these harsh chemicals on the hair.

I really don't recommend relaxing for 5-year-old children here the chemical is too much regardless if it's a kitties brand. It is still extremely dangerous to relax the chemical is bad for the scalp.... once you start to relax to hear you have to continue with every 6 weeks because you get new growth and that's bad for her scarf she's 5 years old ?!! No one can tell you what to do at the end of the day that's your child you have all the decision-making.... You're better off giving her a warm pressing comb the old fashioned way.
Thank God she doesn’t need your recommendation for her child’s hair. In 6 weeks, she will take her daughter to get her hair relaxed again. And another 6 weeks after that.
I’m actually not doing this every 6 weeks. 😊😊 her hairstylist advised once in 6 months and that’s what I’m sticking to.
