Hopefully more to come and not just because I want it 😆💰 P.s: Lewis please start a new X-com 2 series (maybe heavily modded to spice it up) with Ben or anyone really just give me something!
I love that I'm seeing this on the main channel, because that means Lewis noticed how many good comments the Mystery Quest channel gets, which means people love the same thing as I love! And that means I'll be getting a lot more great things to listen to!!! Love you, Lewis! I hope I'm correct in my assumption, because I love these videos! I like watching, but 90% of the time, I just need something to listen to, and I love the Yogscast!
Just for the record, right now, Mystery Quest: 9 589 views after 7 hours. The Yogscast: 11 970 views after 6 hours. Take notes, Lewis! That's a tight run for a completely fresh channel vs. the oldest one!
Wait a minute! How will I know this is an ad if Lewis doesn't stand in a Bristol park and announce this is a sponsored video with a megaphone? Or if Little Lewis doesn't show up with some amusing shenanigans?
Yeah there are very very few cards that could be played at Instant speed to save him let alone one from those precons... rip Tom B next TaskBox. In hindsight big Tom should have asked for a Survivor's Med Kit last turn.
This was a great episode. I really like how you took your presentation format from game nights and used it for magic. Hopefully we might see some magic the gathering on game nights.
Definitely give it a go, great fun. I was on the fence for the longest time as I normally don't care for cardgames but just got into it one day by watching people play like this. Same way I got into warhammer.
I choose to believe that Tom Bates wasn't even a planned part of this, he just showed up that day in a trenchcoat and handed out useful Magic cards to people, even ones who weren't playing. While probably humming the music to himself. I've seen images of some of these cards popping up on-line, but it seems like they did a good job of making it feel more Fallout than I expected. Also did a good job of matching players to decks.
If wizards is going to scroll through and read their investment, I bought the whole collection of decks at my local shop because of this video. I’ve only bought the Urza commander deck in the last decade so the video worked 👍 I did get the anthology set as a gift awhile back those are real cool
Mysterious Stranger garbs is a very good look for Tom Jr., always really adore MTG's obvious love and appreciation for the source material when it comes to collaborations like this, deffo gonna pick up a commander deck soon!
My friend actually sent me a photo of the one deck with Mothman because I like Cryptids. He even pre ordered it for me. He actually taught me how to play Magic: The Gathering. I’m excited to see the Cryptid deck.
Feel free to proxy cards if your friends are chill with it. My brother buys entire commander decks for like 30 bucks, they have different backs but sleeves fix that
@@shadowsonicsilver6 MTG decks cost like $10- $50 unless you're running Legacy or some absurd competitive deck with all the fancy lands + meta stabples. Sleeves, deckboxes, drafts, pack opening etc can be pricey I suppose but you can also buy 1000 commons for $10 at some card stores as they don't have the inventory space to keep them- that's how me and my friends got into the game while on a ramen-noodle college student budget.
@@DoABarrelRol1l Magic is called cardboard crack for good reason. A deck may be cheap (unless you buy Commander precons, like in the video), but the game overall isn't cheap. Warhammer is the miniatures equivalent of MTG except with a large buy-in and relatively infrequent purchases.
I love the Yogscast, don't get much time to watch these days, but just the comfort I get from seeing a post is something special. Hope all are healthy and keep on doing what you love ❤
They are?? Like The Legend of the Planeswalker? I actually didn't realize they've made so many magic videos over the years until I looked it up- that's the only one that comes to my mind 😅
A couple minor mistakes, like Ducan's pridwin dying at 34:00 despite not being a creature (and also he said he needed 2 guys to crew it, but it's actually just creatures with a total of 2 or more power instead) during this, but it was still really fun to watch!
I get that it would be pretty unreasonable to make *every* card in these decks brand new Fallout cards, but it still feels very weird having everything be majority Fallout themed and then somebody plays a counterspell.
It was "a counter spell" but it wasn't "Counterspell" (so the editor put up the wrong card). He actually used Electrosiphon, which counters a spell and gives you energy equal to that spell's mana value, hence why Duncan got 4 energy from it
All of the OG magic reprints are mostly translated into Fallout quite well. Bastion of Remembrance shows the Ranger & NCR statues from NV, Mystic Forge a crafting station or Lethal Scheme which is originally from a noir-y roaring twenties set but now features Benny and the Great Khans taking out the player character during the opening of NV.
Wait wait wait... Am I missing something here? Wasn't Duncan supposed to win because the rad life loss happens at main phase 1? So he would win on upkeep from the Mechanized Production trigger? Well, it's a new set and a new mechanic lol oh well. Also, love the fast paced editing done here. Very Games Knight!
For anyone getting in to magic from the back of this video, I'd recommend getting card sleeves. They protect your cards from getting scuffed while being played, and also make your deck more stylish.
feels like my life is fallout currently, just got all the FO4 DLC to be ready for the massive Fallout London mod, the tv show is just about to get released and now the yogs are playing magic
I was tempted by these decks, but now I'll definitely be getting one! Great way to show them off, and anything with these 4 in is always sure to be a great time!
I watch a lot of commander gameplay on UA-cam and I really like how there post game “round table” discussion explained what was going on and made it different. Just 2 slight criticisms though: 1) How was I supposed to know it was a sponsored video without anyone shouting through a megaphone in a park. 2) There fact your playing unsleeved with no play mats is just scandalous.
Haha that's very lore accurate. In the first game we played with these everyone kept killing everything until we all died of radiation with only the mutants left standing. Also felt very Fallout lol
Definitely should check out Star Wars Unlimited if you guys haven't. Not all of the art is on point(Bamboozled), but it plays amazingly, it's already my favorite card game mechanically and then you give it a Star Wars makeover and I am in love!
The mysterious stranger should from now on appear in every Game Night and Mystery Quest related video and just drop random bonus stuff on unsuspecting players.
Lewis should've used Chaos Warp on the enchanted food token. The token would have entered the library then disappeared, causing the aura to go to the graveyard, potentially getting rid of it entirely.
Very entertaining. I never got into Magic myself but it is fun to see it explained like this so I dont have to watch every single (probably inscruteable) play.
Better play for the Chaos Warp would have been to target the food that was enchanted. Then Mechanized production would have been put into the graveyard instead of shuffled into the library. Since the food token can't exist outside of the battlefield, it would have ceased to exist as well.
Commander is Pretty chill. One of the latest precons is good enough out of the box to play against most decks. You could make it way stronger for around £10. But don't worry about the super expensive cards unless you want to play competitively. Most of the insanely expensive ones are collectors pieces anyway, think like 1st edition charizard from pokemon
Unsure if there was supposed to be a popup at 13:53 but when Duncan says "I should've goaded you", there's a whooshing sound like something was supposed to pop in for info, and it didn't.
Strong, the Brutish Thespian makes radiation gain you life instead of losing life. Glowing One also gains you one life each time someone mills a nonland (cancels out your own radiation damage, provided it doesn't kill you in one shot), so if he got it the turn before, he could gain some life off Briony's radiation to get out of one shot range from his own radiation, then have that cancel out.
@@TheMorbidHobo He stated he was at 7 before having to mill 15. Yes, though not the way they did it. Mysterious Stranger is a 4 mana red creature that enters the battlefield and lets you select an instant or sorcery from each graveyard, then you cast one at random.
