But not once has anyone mentioned anything about any kind of hassle, and I couldn't help thinking that it must exist there. Now I know, so cheers for that! I've been to Morocco many times, and in a lot of places there you get hassled all the time as a foreigner, so I know how to deal with it, but it's good to know that Kathmandu's not as hassle free as many UA-camrs make it out to be. 😁 P.S. sorry about the ginger tea, you must be gutted. 😆

This video has broken my UA-cam app after every video I watch it cuts back to this video or after adverts “Namaste how are you, how long as you in Nepal”
2nd guys name is Bicky. He's affiliated with some thanka painting businesses amd schools. He has injuries from the earthquake for which he needs money to get medical help but the bills for healthcare in Nepal are so high that it's unlikely he'll ever get enough from tourists to pay for it. Unfortunately it's these guys with limited english who annoy tourists and give a bad impression of poor people when there are so many deserving Nepali people. Remember the tourist areas of Nepal have the most cash and most facilities for locals, there is a lot of food around and strong community so they get by without the tourist dollar. Even though these street guys are indeed poor they are young and healthy. Visit a public hospital in Nepal and upgrade someone to a better hospital for the same amount as 2 or 3 of those guys would take you for and spend on alcohol. Even if you buy rice and veggies for someone they'll often trade it for whatever. Just have to be firm in your stance knowing that most people in the tourist areas have enough to eat. Should make it easier to decide who to give your money to. The people who collect plastic are generally some of the most grateful and beautiful as a small amount can really enhance their day and when you see them again they will not harrass you. Each to their own but that's a bit of what I've learned in Nepal. Excellent videos Mulvey. Craic from Pokhara :)
Nepalese in general are very friendly and do not scam anyone!! Most of the people begging on the streets of ktm don’t even understand the Nepalese language. They come from bordering country- sad but it the fact. And it’s a desperate time since Covid .. there are hardly any tourists and people have no business. If you were planning not to go on a trekking trip, you could have gone to Pokhara and worked - you could have escaped the hustle bustle of ktm and be near to nature.
Most of these kind of people's are from India. The one you saw while buying a shoe, a man rolling on the streets and begging, they all come from india.
Off camera a few days before, I had to get overly aggressive with a little fella who would not stop following me and Tanya. Very close to actually launching him away from us. He just kept laughing then running back to try the same thing again. Literally ruins the city, most Nepalis are cool, but these guys are just lowlifes.

LMAO the more a person says, Im not a beggar, I dont need money, the more they ARE a beggar, and the more they DO need money.
Facts
Namaste mate are you still in Kathmandu we here now and we are here for 6 weeks we’re a British couple would love to meet up
Nah mate I'm not there anymore, but make sure you go to see the guys at Hemp Headquarters in Thamel from my video. Boss lads.
@@M88ULV I will mate
Literally had all these questions mate it worse in india
I think I had the same guy said about you luck big festival in Durban square exactly the same speech we just walked in a restaurant to get rid of him.
As always, great video mate. Don't know how you coped with the bikes 😂
Stay safe Martin.
😆 thanks
Awesome video...always keeping it real
Thank you!
14:09 - I recognize rahul!😂met him while walking to kkfc. He told me he’s 19 yrs old and an english student. Didn’t mention a festival though just said he wanted to practice english
I can almost guarantee I will have the opposite experience. 😌When I travel, the party is over. Any language I speak, they don't understand. They're sold out. I try to check into my resort, propellers come out and the building flies away. No one takes my cash, not even in the local currency. Fish don't swim and birds don't fly. The sidewalk is mud. The train caught a flat. Then why travel, you ask? Well, the same thing happens at home; I can afford to; and, I have a lot of time on my hands. So why not? 😂
I mean, "Thank you for your video." Every perspective and additional experience helps... 😏
Did you try and teach them how to steal car tyres/wheels hahahaha!!, love the videos buddy keep going with them and you will be hitting 100k subs no time
😆😆😆 thanks mate

This video has broken my UA-cam app after every video I watch it cuts back to this video or after adverts
“Namaste how are you, how long as you in Nepal”
What 😆😆
@@M88ULV mate honestly I’ll be watching a another video it then has an advert then when it finishes it’s your video walking around
So strange haha
That's mad 😆
Yooo! Timber here! You're prettay close too India!!!! Btw great content! ❤️
Do you think its happened only in Nepal bro ??
Nepal is the only place where grown men have tried to get me, another grown man, to come to their school, yes.
Martin it’s always enjoyable to watch your cautious ways when you travel . Does your blood pressure go up when you travel with curt kaz ?
Thanks! Nah, it’s no different really, just depends on the place and what’s happening. I’m generally calm at all times.
I'd say that's pretty spot on mate. Thanks for watching. 👏🏼
@@M88ULV Keep em comin', best of luck 💚
Man! That would drive me insane! I would just tell them to f off I ain't the one! Lol
😆😆
hey, i find u after i see u in kurts videos. love to see those types of videos. take care of u and have a good time ;)
Thanks for watching!
I am sure they ask how long because it tells them how green you are?
Probably true mate
Nepalese in general are very friendly and do not scam anyone!! Most of the people begging on the streets of ktm don’t even understand the Nepalese language. They come from bordering country- sad but it the fact. And it’s a desperate time since Covid .. there are hardly any tourists and people have no business.
If you were planning not to go on a trekking trip, you could have gone to Pokhara and worked - you could have escaped the hustle bustle of ktm and be near to nature.
Yeah mate that was the plan but I was sick for 3 out of the 4 weeks I was there unfortunately. Stomach problems!
Do they do this to foreign women as well? If so don't they ever think how scary it looks following woman all by herself?
Yes mate, everybody. They're relentless.
Sooo sorry you had to face this . Not all of us Nepalese are like this . Hope you found nice people too. Sorry again
Not your fault mate, don't worry, but this happens to all tourists in Thamel unfortunately! I dread to think how they act around solo women.
Most of these kind of people's are from India. The one you saw while buying a shoe, a man rolling on the streets and begging, they all come from india.
Don`t be unnecessary harassment to tourist please. And don` worry mr martin, be careful and be safe yourself . Thanks.
I started watching you , seems like you are a cool guy. From Nepal, Chitwan.
Hi Mulvey am a big fan! Thank you for sharing your experiences and inspiring me to do the same. Do you have any tips for newbies?
i had the same experience there Mulvey i stayed in Thamel the backpacker district and got approached by Touts every day it did my head in
Mad isn't it mate, proper annoying blokes.
@@M88ULV i ended up either blanking them totally or putting my hand on my chest and saying No english
@@M88ULV Did you go to India? it's even worse there for Touts and Guides and Beggars but i learned how to deal with them it helps if you learn a few words in Hindi they think you know the score then
Your are polite even when you are being harassed.
Thank my mum for that, I can't help it 😆
Dude can you go Boudha as well please and walk around u will love the people down there also meet real monks and more. Tired so seeing all the travel vlogger making videos of Thamel only.
how was the tea ?
Would rather drink nothing than ginger tea. My other half said it was ok, but very weak.
Hello mate me and the missus watch all your videos.. Your cool man keep up the good work bro.. Don't no how you put up with all the street people trying there hussle out on ya every 5 minutes 😂
haha nice one mate! Yeah they're very very annoying
Hi mulvey, I thought you left Kathmandu months ago??where are you now sir?
Hey mate, yeah I left just before Christmas. This is the last one from Nepal, next video from Thailand next week, then a few Maldives videos which is where I am now!
Not even a minute after you said how often you get asked “How long are you in Nepal?” Dude walks up starts conversation and boom “How long you been here?”😂 btw your doing great with your English😉
😆😆 thank you kind sir
Harald Bald had same experience as yours. This happens not only in Nepal but in almost tourist area in any country. Sadly its ruining the tourist industry itself. Hope they change for good of everyone who benefit from it.
No mate, I’ve been to well over 50 countries and it doesn’t happen in most. Scams happen in a lot of places, yes, but what I showed here only happens in a few. Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia for example.
It’s down to the police and authorities to stop it, but they must have a reason not to stop it. They definitely know it’s happening, but either don’t care or don’t want to stop it.
@@M88ULV , noted Sir!
Hope someday my country is in your list too. Its a tourist destination even before digital age , and travel vlogger destination now. Recently covid restrictions for foreigners is lifted.
Nepal is the worst
Please let us know where this guy was we will report it to the tourist police
He’ll be around that area mate along with the rest of them.
good luck for your travels and vlogs.
Thanks
i love watching your videos man, hilarious . Any plans to meet up with kurt kaz again
Thanks mate! Yeah we’ll see each other at some point. Probably not in the next few months though.
@@M88ULV awesome. Great work. Keep it up.
Thanks!
So how long are you in Nepal?😂😂😂
Quality lad!
😆😆😆😆
real life junk mail🤣🤣🤣 must be soo annoying tho, especially when you’re an introvert and don’t like talk to people, and you just want to be on your ownn haha
😆😆😆 my spam box was full after this.
Jokes aside, this would be awful for an introvert as you said. Especially solo girls, I can imagine it’s horrible for them. Not cool.
I’m buzzing off the wool shout. You’re defo from over the water and have been called that many times hahaha
hahaha, I am not from the Wirral
@@M88ULV haha I was messing. The next time someone tries to scam you mate… please call them a bad wool. That’d be funniest thing on UA-cam
hahaha good shout
@@M88ULV is right. Where are you now mate? Still in Thailand?
I easily get rid of the scammers by simply ignoring them.
"your english is very pure" waaaaat lol
The purest 🔥
