I still have faith in his long-term potential for us, but right now he is genuinely hindering the team and needed to be benched. Even if we lose every game this season, at least our offense will not average single-digits and we'll be able to actually evaluate the scheme in our weapons.
I like Riddick a lot, and everybody needs to out of the Panthers organization. But the lack of scheme, and a horrible owner, does not explain why Bryce misses wide open receivers on 4 yard check downs, doesn't see wide open receivers because he won't step up in the pocket, has bad footwork, a weak arm, and does absolutely nothing to suggest he is a good leader for the lockeroom. Any QB who has to literally JUMP to throw over his own offensive line, I'm not going to consider an elite quarterback.
The Panthers can be a dysfunctional organization and Bryce can be a bad quarterback. Sam Howell was with a dysfunctional organization in Washington but he at least showed flashes. Bryce doesn’t have average athleticism, speed or arm strength. He has an elite mind and understanding of the offense. If that fails him he doesn’t have anything else to rely on.
Tepper is part of a LOT OF PROBLEMS here BUT, when the whistle blows and the ball is in Bryce’s hands, that is HIM. Dont @ me about O-line if you haven’t watched our games, our O-line isn’t the problem.
The Panthers upgraded everything around Young to give him the best possible chance coming into this season. Young's issues this season are his own and the fault of no one else. Having him sit may be the best decision for his future long term.
What's embarrassing is the basic throws he miss on every week.. lol.. listening to national media, you can tell who actually been watching him play from who just holding on to his Alabama days..i wanna hear what these EXPERTS say when Dalton take the same team and quadruple bryce production.
@@tizzystith6440 like last year they were singing a different tune, they were literally saying how bad he was and how Carolina should’ve drafted Stround. This year, Carolina benched Bryce and now it’s everything else around him is terrible. Which is a lie, o line and WR core was upgraded the offseason 🤣🤣🤣 I like Bryce, but even I can’t defend his poor play
Carolina gave Bryce Young weapons tho. Thielen and Diontae are good. China Hubbard is decent too. Stroud had less than this when he started thriving with the Texans last year.
you guys are funny. you media people are crazy. Y'all can have them give them to the dolphins or something. then y'all will find out how bad he really is
It isn’t just one side or the other. The Panthers improved their line, running game, coaching staff and receivers in the off-season. Young not only looks worse, he looks unplayable. The line isn’t playing poorly. The backs averaged over 5 ypc on Sunday. The receivers were running open consistently. It’s there on tape for everybody to watch.
I think people are putting too much into the label of "1st overall pick" yes he was the first pick, but on the field he looks like he doesn't belong. Bad body language, seems scared to throw downfield, tries to force the ball into anticipated windows with 3 defenders around, its like he has PTSD from last year. Sitting him now, building him back up and teaching, actually teaching him, is more beneficial in the long term for Bryce's development, he doesn't have to be CJ Stroud, he just has to move the ball down the field, something he has not been able to do
My take on this, Bryce needs to up his game and grind as much as he can right now. Improve anyway you can with the limitations, and when the chance comes ask for a trade. Honestly get him behind a vet. Let him sit for a year and then play him. NFL teams should look at him as a project. It would be awesome to get him behind Matt Stafford in LA. Problem is I don't think he's gonna be there long and might retire.
Don't want to see any NFL team struggle.panthers have to stick with a set of coaches.turnover will kill a franchise.the old browns were a perfect example of that
I don't think he's going anywhere any time soon. This was a good long-term decision if it was made with that in mind. Having him continue to play badly to tank for a good pick is no way to manage your team. They gave up so much to get him, but they didn't take time to develop him for the NFL. Canales has seen the film from the 2 games, I wouldn't be surprised if he is the one that suggested benching Bryce to Tepper, but not for the purpose of moving on. Dalton can at least give the fans a look at what the offense can do, or at least I hope that he can. Canales isn't trying to resurrect Dalton the way he did Geno and Baker, but I absolutely could see him sitting Bryce down so that he can get a closer look at it than anyone. Go listen to what Smitty is saying about the situation, I think he has a better appraisal of the situation than those saying it's over for Bryce.
Why was he benched ? Cause he Fn sucks . Dude is horrible . He got number 1 money thats all he should ever get . Dude is not even a backup in this league .
Well isn’t that the fruit you reap when you’re picked #1 you go to a bad organization and thus not a lot of talent around you, but if you got it then you rise above that , Bryce hasn’t, why it is always taboo lately to call someone not good “not good” Young isnt at Alabama anymore surrounded with 1st rounders at skilled positions… maybe Louis should just realize that the world was given up for Young and he hasn’t shown anything to being even a good QB in the NFL…stop the blaming on something other then what it is… Bryce Young isn’t good (currently)
Young just needs to go home until he gets traded.. tell the panthers and David Tepper No, Get Away From The Panthers, Tepper Treats A Used Paper Cup With More Felling, He Throws At Fans Than He Does Any Player.
The Panthers suck and yes they are dysfunctional but you guys have not watched the games, Bryce has showed nothing in 18 odd games, he is a bust, he isnt the first and he wont be the last high end college QB who goes first to be one.
I still think Miami needs to put together a trade package for Young. I know the jury's out on whether or not Tagovailoa will suit up again for them (he seems adamant that he will, but maybe his time on IR and time with family convinces him to hang it up), and I think Young has a lot of the same traits that Tua has. I think a reset for Young to Miami where he'll have stability, an offensive-minded head coach, and positive support would give us insight into whether or not he can make it in the NFL. The Panthers can recoup some draft capital (sorely needed draft capital to help rebuild their roster which is full of middling or aging talent due to Tepper's meddling) and Miami can get the type of QB they feel is the best fit to run their offense (an accurate short-to-mid field passer who can make good decisions and distribute the ball to ultra-fast playmakers in space). Not sure what the compensation package would look like (a 1st is out of the question based on early returns), but it seems to make sense to me, especially since Carolina wouldn't have to face off against Bryce since he'd be going to an entirely different conference, much less entirely different division.
Miami was my first thought too. Bryce Young seems to have a similar skill set to Tua. He's not on a huge contract, which is a problem for Miami with Tua on the roster.
@mrbusto7, we’ll trade him for a 6th rd pick and a bag of Doritos. As a Panther fan who doesn’t miss a game let me just say Bryce is 100% the problem not a little a lot. Bryce doesn’t have an athletic ability to offset his height. He wants to be a turtle pocket passer who can’t see the windows in the NFL. Andy Dalton is going to rip it up this weekend the o-line is ranked 3rd overall thus far. These analysts don’t watch the Panthers play the fans do!
Bryce is small, plays small, he doesn't have an NFL arm. Bryce has to jump up & throw in the pocket to attempt to complete a pass! This was never going to end well for Bryce or the Panthers.
So instead of letting him work his way out of a funk, your solution is to let him leave and go so where else. And then Old Heads complain kids these days are soft. 🤦🏻♂️
Did any of these guys actually watch Panthers games this season...his confidence has been shot before getting benched.
