Enjoyable video. Thank you. Perhaps not completely on point here, but my husband (boyfriend at the time) gave me a bottle of Miss Dior around 1970. I loved it. I assume the formula has been changed many times since then, and I am no longer a fan.
Hi Tara! So great to see your happy face on YT again 💜I haven’t even been collecting for very long but already I have amassed some discontinued ones: 1. Mon exclusif 2. Beige (vintage) 3. Oud bouquet (old formulation) 4. Gourmand coquin 5. Mon precieux nectar 6. Micallef rose extreme 7. Miss dior 2005 8. Roja candy aoud 9. LV contre moi 10. Lancôme roses parfait 11. Xerjoff erba gold 12. Elie Saab rose no 1
I adore Narcisse. I discovered it while I was attending high school 8-9 years ago and adopted it as one of my signatures (alongside Womanity and Angel by Mugler). 200+ bottles later (yes, I have a problem) and It is still the most captivating and alluring fragrance I’ve ever smelled and it never fails to elicit compliments from people of every age or demographic. Still so devastated that Chloe discontinued such an irreplicable beauty.
I miss the original Chloe by Lagerfeld that came out in the 70s..that was my signature scent when I was 14-15 yrs old. Chloe Narcisse was my signature scent in my early 20s and I miss it!
I recently discovered a mini parfum of Chloe Narcisse for $2 at goodwill! I’ve since snapped up several partial bottles on eBay! I’m obsessed with this fragrance!
Omg I loved Narcisse! My grandmother used to wear it and she gifted me a bottle when I was probably in my late teens. I would always get compliments whenever I wore it. The funny thing is that I didn't even know the name of the perfume. I just remember seeing the box and throwing the box away as soon as I saw it because I was excited to get the gift. I had to look it up on google. Lol. I just found someone selling a small bottle and jumped on the opportunity to order it. Hopefully I'll be in possession of Narcisse again!
Oh my gosh. fragile !!!! I had totally forgotten about that and as soon as I saw your bottle I remembered immediately !!! I wore this in my early twenties :)
My favorite discontinued fragrance is Viktor & Rolf Magic Dancing Roses. I was so sad when they discontinued it. I can still snag a bottle here and there, but they are crazy expensive.
Awesome video Tara!!!💙💙💙I didn’t know there was a Love Chloé Intense - wow! 🤩The regular Love Chloé is pretty intense!!! Richard Kikot loves Enchanté!!!💕💕💕beautiful selection!!! That Angel line is so pretty 😍
Your video caught my eye, because I’m on hunt for vintage Climat by Lancôme, specifically the splash bottle of perfume. My hesitation is buying fragrances like that from sites where you don’t know if you can trust that it’s the real thing since it’s rare, discontinued and vintage. Glad I got a chance to hear your thoughts. Thank you 🌹
Omg, I was thinking about JPG Fragile and you brought it up, such a cool bottle! I remember loving a L’occitane perfume, Miel and Citron, one of the few bottles I finished back then. I’m not sure I’d still love it as much. This was a very fun video and love the t-shirt!
What a fun video! Hot couture is a love for me. Strangely, when I used to wear the EDT in 2011 it did not seem to last much on me or be too sweet for me. I guess I loved the smell that much. After watching your video, I would like to get another bottle.
Omg! Where were you able to track down Angel rose and violet??? Prior to your video I was trying to find them. I wore them when they were first released I love them! There was also a lily one if I’m not mistaken
I have the chloe narcise .it has to be from when it came out and it still smells amazing its even stronger just a little bit will last forever.i live my vintage perfumes.
Oh man I loved Hot Couture back in the day. I can't imagine enjoying it today, it was really really sweet but I was a teenager and I remember feeling so fancy that I had a "luxury perfume" lol!
I am a long time vintage perfume collector as well as being somewhat vintage myself, lol. The blog The Non Blonde has a nice write up on Quadrille. I believe it has plum as well as peach, which I personally love and if you do as well, be sure to try vintage Rochas Femme, one of my all time favorite sexy vintage perfumes. Nothing quite like this one and well worth trying. I always love seeing younger collectors trying vintage perfumes, especially chypres. "Old lady smell" comments aside, in my opinion a perfume collector really needs to train their noses to recognize and appreciate chypre perfumes even if they wouldn't necessarily wear them, as it is the most complex category to learn about. I liked your reviews! oxJulia
I recently Teatro Alla Scalla, Knowing and a 36 ml built-in sprayer of Opium. All for a very good cost. Looking at La Dix, I think that's the name of it. Haven't gone through Anooj at Encante yet, but I will. Thank you for the upload.
Nice! I want to try the Iris Ysatis. I really enjoy the vintage of the original. And Angel Violette…I think that one is beautiful. I wish the original version of Vent Vert and Emeraude would come back. I have some older Mitsouko. I’m scared to try the modern iteration….but I am curious. Good fun here. Thanks Tara!
Hello there people might’ve already said this in your comments but I just stumbled across this video and I saw your impression of the hot couture EDT but I have to say that the EDP is actually the one that is so hyped and for good reason. It is so amazing it’s very raspberry and sweet but also very smoky and spicy. It is so much better I hope you can get your nose on that one thanks for your videos they are veryInformative
My one nostalgic perfume that I would love to get my hands on is the original Fendi. The prices for it on ebay are more than I want to pay. It was my signature in the 90's and none of the Fendi fragrances now compare in my opinion
I have been looking for it for years. I had a sample that eventually dried up. I’d like to smell it now that I have a better sense of smell but at the time probably 30 years ago it was beautiful and different. More of a unisex scent.
I really enjoyed hearing about your vintage collection! I haven't heard of some of these before, so unique. I recently bought a vintage Ralph Lauren Safari formula from 1992, and I really can smell, what you described as the top notes going off, however:;as it dries down it becomes almost spot on to the original smell.
Vintage Guerlains are my obsession. I have original formulations of Lolita Lempicka and Dior Addict. I dream of an alien absolu but who are we kidding??
This was such a fun video! 🤩 There are a couple of perfumes I had when I was young and remember loving thatare no longer available Talisman eau Transparente by Balenciaga, and Eau Florale by Christian Lacroix🙁 On the other hand I have found and re bought perfumes I had at about 14: 1881 Cerruti and Burberry weekend (the current weekend seems weaker even though i's edp and the old one was edt)
Hi Tara. I've been looking for timeless perfumes to add to my collection and just bought Ysatis Iris. It's time that I declutter those frags that were fails or just 'meh' and only keep what I really love. This one sounds like it will be a love, too.
I see the appeal of vintages in that since there's a finite number of which were produced, it can feel like you have some real gems. I have vintage Dior Poison edt, pre apple bottle and Vivienne Westwood Boudoir. I appreciate both, but I can't pull them off! If I decide to let them go, I know they will go for more then what I got for them for. Another vintage I have is Lolita Lempicka... with back up bottles. My most adored, 💜 I would love to get some really classic perfumes for a piece of perfume history, particularly in minis.
I like the idea of minis for some of the historical fragrances as well, Lily! Many I wouldn't wear, much like you mentioned, but I enjoy smelling them.
I bought a big bottle of Hot Couture edp late last year. It’s a smoky raspberry for me. And I loved Chloe Narcisse. I remember smelling it in a magazine as a kid. Unfortunately when I owned bottles it was always overwhelming to me.
Wow, now you have really take me back🤩🤩. I used to wear Chloe Narcisse every year without fail back in the day😍😍. I had Chloe Love Intense in 2020 but gave it to a friend who wanted to try it👌👌. I also have Maubossin but it will be finished by the end of April cos I use it as a lounging night time fragrance😍😍. This video was so enjoyable👌👌. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰.
I miss KL for Women by Karl Lagerfeld. Beautiful spicy amber. Glorious cloves and cinnamon. The price for this one is again, outrageous! But, if I found a good bottle…you never know.😬
MOMENT SUPREME by JEAN PATOU. My Mom adored as a younger woman. She told me she would use in her hair and it was simply beautiful. By the time she was married, it was discontinued.
Sigh ... thats what's frustrating about polish, they time to sit and put on a few coats and the next day it's chipping. Makes me not want to bother, lol.
Pretty sure the KVD Saint & Sinner fragrances are gone. Not even the brand website has them in stock. I currently have a Floral Street discovery set in my Sephora cart that I have yet to pull the trigger on to see which of their fragrances I like to replace Saint & Sinner.
Hot Couture (can't remember if it was epd or edt) made me nauseous when i tried it in my twenties. My mom owned it but barely wore it. To this day, when I see this perfume I cringe 🤣 I took an old bottle of Armani Mania (white cap) from my ex-husband 😄 its nice.
Yeah, I don't think the bottle I have is more than 6 years old or so. Also I tried the EDP once and don't think it was as sweet, but I don't remember that well.
#looking for a fresh, citrus fragrance, a little sophisticated Hi I would love recommendations for a beautiful citrus-based fresh fragrance, Mediterranean but feminine at the same time. Amazing!! Love these older gems. The bottles, even the advertisement was better.
That beautiful red flower of a bottle, Chloe Narcisse!! 🌺💕I'm crying 😭 just seeing it! I always wanted it, but only had the magazine pictures!
Fascinating video! I miss Rive Gauche from when I was a teenager (late 70s/early 80s)
