- In this Diablo 2 run project video i am going to do Lower Kurast runs farming the super chests to get high runes to make enigma. I will do as many runs as it takes to accomplish that goal and highlight all the other great stuff i find along the way. How many runs will it take? Come find out.

I'm doing exactly this now on my plugy, trying to get that enigma. I've come as far as to cube 2 surs up to 1 ber, and i have a few of each of the runes from pul to vex. Working my way there! I dont have a counter but im running at like 26 secs per run. Single player is alot harder with no trade, but much much more rewarding!
Ya it can take a long ass time. I didn't put it in the video but in total these runs took like 40-50 hours probably. Between picking up gems and charms and all and sitting then into the stash and cubing gems and runes and stuff. My normal runs took like the same time you saying, in the 20s for seconds. Towards the end I stopped picking up anything I had to put into my stash to try top save time.
They drop from boxes and corpses there? Specific location or is it random?

Thanks, been doing these runs for like 2 month now. Couldn't do them all at once. Im sure you know how "fun" lk runs are lol. I was picking all gems and crafting supplies for first 75% of runs so was taking a long time.

i never got a HR from the superchests, but i did get an Ohm rune from a log i popped up. those chests/logs/corpses in LK really are worth popping
For sure worth it in my opinion, you might have already known and did this but if you have it set to players 7 or 8 you will get more high runes from the chests. I've heard it describe this way and it seems true in my experience that you should get a high rune at least every 500 runs from a LK super chest.

You're a genius, I started hitting all poppables in the path of the super chests and I started getting more runes than from the chests. One run was particularly insane, i got a Lo AND an Ist off back to back poppables.

I remember when I was farming LK for making enigma. I did 1619 runs and countless cows runs. I finally finish it. I was really excited. I even remember places when I find some runes like VEX, LO, OHM etc.

Soo during ur LK run ur just doing the chests,stash n logs? No monsters? If yes how long on avg each run? 500 run wouldn't take nearly as long I guess if ur not killing eveey monster
Ummm average run is like 30 seconds maybe. Towards the end of the video I stopped touching anything except the super chests. So only taking like 20 seconds maybe. Haven't done this in a long time so it's hard to remember exactly but I think that's right.
I saw this video 4 days ago and have done just over 500 runs a day on /players 8 hell and not even a vex yet. Should i report RNGesus
So 2k runs with no HR. That's incredibly bad luck. I've done over 1k before without 1 but never that many. I did start with 1 sur and I think I got pretty good luck in this one. Took me about the same number of runs to make my infinity as my enigma. So 2 ber worth from LK and enigma is 3 ber worth.
Grind Kurast for 8 hours, or spend 50 cents on d2jsp for 5 hrs.

I seen something about that. Never looked into it though. You can just get hero editor too. You don't have to feel bad even if you dupe some stuff on single player. I don't blame people not wanting to say, do 4500 LK runs to make enigma, or infinity. As long as you don't try to like, pass off stuff as solo self found when it's not.
That 15/31 jewel made all those runs worthwhile. Also you rune drops were insanely good. I’ve done 2k runs before and only gotten a single high rune. I would have gone Mage Plate all day for the lowered str requirement and aesthetics but GG’s all the way around man.

I just did it!!!!!! Seriously tough it took me about 6 weeks of run after run id say probably 60 hours all told but I also found so many high value charms over 40 skill charms Thanks Sweet Phil I would have never thought when I came back 20 years later that I'd have a Hoto and an Enigma like in the old days

Found my first HR's last week, a Fal Rune (not from LK) and a Lo rune (from LK) ... These are becoming so addictive! It's fun even with my walking paladin
Everytime when i running LK, about 2 hrs and still no high rune, i go watch this video to improve that high runes drops :D And today finaly i found my GUL, which makes my infinity (cube up) :) Thanks SP :)
Congrats, good work. Got to just keep plugging away. Probably took me 30 hours to get runes to make infinity just fyi for reference. Everyone's result will obviously vary greatly though.
in my personal exp i found many runes in World Stone Keep Levels 1-3 + Throne Destr, Travincal killing the council and open the chests, Ancient's Way and Glacial Trail or Frozen River. i found Gul, Pul, Zod, Vex, Fal, Lo, Cham, Ko, and lower, never found Ber but i did cube recipe (2 Sur + amatist) for make one Eni.
What version of D2 and loot filter are you using?
Back when I made this video I was playing with a mid called plugy. I can't remember what loot filter I used way back then.
This is insane luck. I only got 3 sur and couple of ohms and other lower stuff in 3000 runs. Anyway, I want to make at least 10k runs no matter what just to check my luck.

Ya seems like everyone likes the voice overs, I always listened to videos at work too. So I will keep doing them, even though it takes a lot of time.
Voice overs are the way to go, like you guys and everyone else I can listen while working. This keeps me going on my own runs and goals.
hi phil that Lo was on players1 :D well i do not really chestrun on bnet playesr1 but i found some runes in maybe 300 chests (SUR, OHM, GUL)
The video would have been cool, but the music obliterated it. Guides don't need music except maybe a D2 soundtrack or maybe from another loved RPG to cause nostalgia. Very silently on the background tho so we can hear the guide 💞
Killed a mob in LK today and got a 15+ lightning dmg +3 lightning ormus also a perfect G angel from random pop.
i found my first Jah just rolling around Hell Act 1, and then a couple days later i found Archon Plate. my runs number in the dozens, not hundreds. i'm salivating very very hard

I got mine from farming cows, dropping big big damage. PLAYER 1 ONLINE at that.
Will this work in D2 resurected?
Yes, but it's only really viable on single player since then the map won't change. Online it's to hard to find the super chests.

Oh man, I wish I could borrow your LK luck. I did 3500 runs to get few essential runewords (hoto, cta, exile, grief, enigma and infinity are my end goals) and I only got 2 vex runes and 1 sur rune for the high runes... well if I would cube all the mid runes (26 total) I think I would have like 6-7 vex runes total.
After 3,5k I gave up and went to farm something else but I prolly have to come back to LK at some point...
Ya I think I got pretty good luck at LK. I've heard people being better obviously but I'm not complaining. You will get it next time.

I would never cube 2xLo to make Sur.Breaks my hart wachting u doing that.I get it why u cube 2 ber(u cant find jah there) , but Lo is só hard to find and so usufull
Yes it's tough. And everyone has there own opinion. I already have most of the rubber words that use Lo's, but enigmas makes every build that isn't on a sorc 10x better so In my opinion it's worth it in my situation. The only thing I could do with a Lo is like try to roll a better a Grief.
Secret for hrs. Been carrying it for almost 20yearss.. max goldfind gear with 0mf(white gear/lemnrunes). you need maxed out gold and 0potions in belt. chest pop lvl 87 @ high lvl zones. works best as other people have cleared the zone, zon decoy/valk/slow/avoid. works on battle.net. its an old game now. dont pick up any items as you go.

Ya thus project took a lot of time for sure. Was around 35 hours of game play to do these runs. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Sweet Phil I started to play PlugY few weeks ago (surely due to your videos ) after like 10-15 years of break with d2. I was a fierce diablo player back in those days. I watched your videos with the guides about the single player gameplay and I dropped my first Sur rune at lK in the first week of hunting. Dropped another high rune on my way to Countess, which was a Jah rune, I couldn’t believe it. Today I got another Sur rune at LK, that’s crazy. But there’s one thing that I can’t work out, I just can’t find a single ethereal pole arm after all those hours of farming. I’ve watched your video before I even started to play, about a bug of one of the patches at PlugY, that you couldn’t find a piece of item that you want, and I just think I happened to me about that pole arm (also got an eth armor issue). I know that’s not an easy item to find, but still.. hope you could read my comment and give a help
Likely stupid question, how are you changing the colours of grand charms and gems?
its so hard to find hrs in ladder. Unless you're doing like cows or baal or chaos runs lol. I find lower kurast seems like a sure way guaranteed way to find hrs. Problem? You need 7 - 8 players in a game.
Ya, finding HR on ladder significantly harder than SP plugy. Since you can't quit and join fast enough to do LK runs efficiently enough to do that. The easiest way in my opinion is eldritch and shenk since they both have many little mcardle around them, but it's not the "best". The best, your probably right, just doing chaos and baal, or cows. If you have a great character that can do those efficiently.
@@SweetPhil Yeah I've been doing the trick where I pop seals and I'm getting a lot of loot and great clear speed and it's not awfully stressful. I just have to manage where I clear mobs and then when and how to pop the seals so I hit every monster HOPING for anything to drop. Hrs are a b!tch but if I find a ber I'm ready for an enigma (maybe even a jah.) Might be a long time ..... x'D !

That post is from 12 years ago. I know that at some point with one if the patches they upped the rune drop chance over all. I would suspect that that changed LK as well. Not sure exactly which patch it was or when. Dbrunski has a video in it, I trust him. Players 7-8 is the best.

I think I got lucky for sure, but 10-20k probably a bit high. And remember I sacrificed every rune I found and cubed them up which a lot of people don't do.

As a pluggy hc player, it pains me to see all those Lo runes get turned into Surs :'( I managed to get 2 sur and ber from hell trav, which motivated me to slam out the enigma via surs/bers, then a cham and Lo drop back to back. so much pain and struggle. Love that d2 rng. Gz on the sexy enigma though :P

I'm doing LK runs for my first single player enigma right now (no plugy) and I'm in the middle of a really long bad streak. One sur rune away...

at 7:34 you mixed up your editing of run 1280 since you found the sur before the skiller.

Great video ! I saw another content creator find the runes you needed towards the end doing countess and mausoleum runs. This video was super helpful though on what you can farm in that area.
Just fyi this area is only good idea on single player with same map every time. Old video, can't remember if I mentored that in it.

Aaahhh ya right. It would be a long time if ever. I got family and all the bills that go along with it. I feel like the streaming lifestyle is best suited for people with no kids.
Hi, how do you count how many runs you've done? Is it manual (pen & paper) or do you have a software that counts the runs?
Ya I have a run counter that I can make notes of drops in and stuff. It saves your run times and stuff to but I have kids and I have to constantly walk away and forget to pause it so time is never right.
Is there any point to do in solo?
Been running LK for a couple days now on players8. probably 200-300 runs haven’t dropped anything higher than a FAL and that came from a random mob not even a super chest. I seem to drop like Amn’s and Tal’s only and pretty much always the same dagger off one of the weapon racks. Just bad RNG? Or could drops be bugged somehow? Would rerolling my map help?
Why doesn't the chests drop any gold or junk?
I'm so close to forging mine. I need one more Sur and it'll be my first ever solo self found enigma. Gona use a 260 def Mage Plate for my base. I wasn't lucky enough for a Jah drop, but I did get 1 Ber from LK which helped. I only needed 4 Surs instead of 6 then. I can't wait to see how good it feels to craft this, so much work, so many hours spent chest farming. I know it's gonna be epic.
Sweet Phil you keep mentioning that you set the level to 7 but that is great you are PC User. I don't think that it is even possible if you are Unlucky like me and are a XBOX console player.

I just use a program called OBS, that's an acronym not a word but its essentially only known as that, I think it's pretty much the standard option. Edit the videos with davinci resolve, but there's a ton of options when it comes to free editing programs. Thank you for watching.

How realistic is it to farm this alone on a single player game on battlenet? You can't set players 7, right?
Its not a good idea to do online. Essentially impossible.

Did same thing. After about 3,500 runs got my hands on enigma. Found a lot of 7%mf small charms and about 15 skillers on the way
1) Did you find the Lo on players 1?
2) I kill all champion and Boss packs when running LK. My only Zod find was from a champion Leaper while running LK.
LK is fine place to try your luck sometimes but especially if you want to get as quick as possible on 98 lvl to start that 99 journey i recommend to do Chaos and Baalruns and mix some Pindle/Nihlathak on there too!👍🏻
I play bnet exclusively and wish LK runs were more feasible. It's hard to find games where there are 3+ people and LK hasnt already been picked over

Every once in a while super chests go crazy with rares. Not sure the odds on that, usually no high runes with it obviously.

I just play in windowed mode. It looks a little better in my videos than when I'm playing. I do some stuff in recording and editing that makes it look a tand better.

I wish they could allow you somehow to have the same maps on bnet. I just don't think I will every go solo play. I would love to farm LK for some runes on bnet.

This was by far my longest project. I don't keep my time clock super accurately. But it took somewhere between 30 and 40 hours to do all the runs. I thunk I did 4 other videos between when I started these runs and making these videos because I needed breaks. Im sure you have an idea of how mind numbing LK can be.
Sweet Phil you’re right, it can turn into a kind of black hole. My efficiency hasn’t been super tight because I keep venturing off for popables and killing demons so I always like to ask for other folks’ time
