Really enjoyed the footage and narration. Looks like you could use some off-road tires, maybe kenda trackmaster 2, and a bit more grip off road. Great job
Hi great video. Just a quick question, my husband has a 300l on order but he has heard on a few reviews that the throttle response is jerky. We live in Chesterfield and at the moment can't get a demo. Could you let us know if it is jerky or are people being really picky. Kind regards Clare and Andy
I would say it is a bit. You can feel it offroad when you need good control and standing (hands control not as accurate). On road it's fine. I would not be too worried about it. It's a 300c so not that bad.
Nice one Marek, I’m just over the hill (geographically and probably physically 🤣). Is that the Android TET app? We have the same challenges with speed around here. Plenty of other users including walkers and horses so riding at steady pace and keeping everyone safe (and also the green lanes open!) is key.
@@marekonbike9291 Not Manchester, it’s a different hill, heading south from you. I’m in Edale in Derbyshire, the next valley south of the Snake Pass, one valley north of Castleton. Happy to meet for a ride when restrictions permit!
@@marekonbike9291 yup. I don’t know them well, and many are short sections can but lots of variety. The TET from Buxton to the outskirts of Sheffield winds around a lot from farm tracks to old quarries and even some Roman roads.
hmmm, check your boots Marek most "adventure boots" offer little more protection than a pair of wellies on extreme terrain, although some are getting better now, in the £250-£300 price range Especially due to the fact you are riding alone, this advice is for you and anyone watching your videos who is new to the dirt. Hold your boot and bend it from side to side above the ankle, if it offers no resistance and flops from side to side then it won't protect your ankle if you have to suddenly put your foot down on uneven ground, also see how bendy the sole is, if it folds easily it's too soft. You really need the level of protection offered by an enduro or MX boot for off-road riding. Standing up on the foot pegs is much more comfortable in a dedicated boot as the sole is reinforced and much stiffer. Your ankle is complex, a break means months out of action. I cannot stress this enough, a broken ankle ended my friend's career. The same goes for the rest of your body, if you wear the right protective gear you will feel safer and build confidence quicker, you should be wearing body armour that is directly attached to your body rather than stuff incorporated in a jacket and trousers, in the event of a tumble the armour will be in the right place and will stay in the right place throughout your landing. Wearing proper armour also means you have a much larger choice of what you wear over the top of it, on hot or wet days etc. I always wear knee and tibia protection on my motorbike and wouldn't feel properly dressed without that on either. Yes I know these seem like an unnecessary cost at first but if you come off your bike going over 20mph you will hurt yourself, ask anyone with crash experience. The appropriate saying is; pay once- cry once Have fun Marek, I enjoy your videos and glad you are happy, but don't put pressure yourself into becoming a test pilot for UA-cam
Hi Marek, looks a good trail. Are the bars now in a good position for your height? I am 6ft 2" and am looking to get bars and risers for my 300l which is on order, would you change anything? Thanks
I think if you could source a rear sprocket with one or two more teeth the trail you just took would have been easier. Yes you lose a little bit of top end and yes the RPMs go up a little bit you know gears but crawling in first and second gear is so much easier
@@marekonbike9291 I am waiting for the arrival of my 300 rally. There aren't any in Canada for sale yet they will arrive in about a month. And the first thing I want to do is add a rear sprocket with one more tooth just for trails like yours.
Great video again Marek. It is my impression that you are riding mostly seated. I think that it would help you if you stood up more on the pegs.especially on these difficult terrains. All the best from Romania. hopefully next year I will get my crf300L.
In terrain I am actually standing maybe too much it's the angle of camera. Sitting mainly on tarmac. Just as you go to steep hill you see handlebars even when I stand 😉
Great job. Keep challenging yourself at your own pace. 2 fingers on the clutch during any of the knarly stuff even though you feel more secure holding on with your whole hand it will pay off. Also stand up over the rough stuff. It will feel awkward at first but will become normal and make a huge difference for picking and holding your line without sliding into the ruts unless you choose to ride in that rut.
