  • Today I completed the upgrade of the rear turn signals to LEDs on my 2017 Toyota Highlander. These are so insanely bright, that I actually have a less-bright recommendation as well that I switched to. You can choose for yourself which of the links below you select. The 7440 bulb is the super bright one. I changed to a 7430 which was less bright.

    Thanks so much for the support!

    Thank you for the concise and easy to understand explanation for removing this taillight assembly. Sliding the assembly to remove is obviously important to know, in order to keep from damaging the unit. Helped me out!

    Another great how to video to replace halogen with LED bulbs. Thank you for this as I will be doing this in the future as well. Another tip of advice, you should mention what size bulb the turn signal is so someone needing to look for a replacement can buy it themselves online. Keep up the great work!

      @@DansWay what made you decide to go with the Auxito bulbs versus other ones? Is it because they are inexpensive on Amazon? Or did they sponsor you a little bit to do videos for them? Because I actually decided to buy some Auxito bulbs due to the price on Amazon and due to your videos so I can try for myself and see if the quality is decent compared to say Sylvania, Philips, or even Morimoto

      @@wutdadilyo I have used a couple of different brands in the past, looking for something more affordable than the 'name' brands. Auxito reached out to me to try a set of their bulbs and I was genuinely impressed with what I saw. I have been using their bulbs for 3+ years now and each one has a better build quality than the 'others' I have tried or been sent. I have been given bulbs from 'others' to try or make vidoes about, but their quality just wasn't as good as Auxito. So are there better brands out there, perhaps. But I haven't had any serious concern with Auxito. I have had a couple bulbs die on me almost right away (first month or two), and they are quick to replace anything defective. I would attribute that to some defect in manufacturing or material. The other 90% of the bulbs are working fine, and people are not commenting on my videos about how their bulbs are failing which gives me confidence to continue promoting their use. For the price, I'm getting a good product with a good warrantee.

    Thank you for your video! Clear and easy to understand. This helped me change my turn indicator bulbs to fix a intermittent turn signal problem. I didn't have to replace an expensive turn signal lever.

    You need to be more specific about what year the highlander is. Mine is a 2013 and you are to access the bulbs through small ports from the inside of car. These are located in the cargo area. The 2013 does not have the same design as this these taillights.

    The led bulbs are amazing. Will u also replace your front signal lights with amber leds?

    • @DansWay
      @DansWay  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, I need to install ballast resistors to stabilize the blink rate. Once I get that done, I’ll post an install video on that process as well.

    What if you have rapid blinking? Should I replace the turn signal module??

    • @DansWay
      @DansWay  2 роки тому

      You may need to install a load resistor to fool the car into thinking it still has a bulb installed.

      @Swim Fan thank you for the response. I did end up using load resistors. I would have preferred replacing a flasher module, but the resistors took care of the hyper flash. Wasn’t hard to install.

      Ah man, bummer... Looks like you need to either install the external resistors, or use the ones that have a built in resistor. If you contact Auxito they could either send you resistors or swap them out for you. They are very supportive in my experience. Check out this video on the built-in resistor version: ua-cam.com/video/2EsXOHfCf7U/v-deo.html&lc=UgxtIgG1nmwnHUylTot4AaABAg&ab_channel=DoingThingsDan%27sWay
