- Here you have a little wooden mushroom with a secret. Made from a piece of pine, torched to add contrast, with copper stitching to accent the natural flaws in the wood.

I have been making wire wrapped jewelry for several years but I'm relatively new at the mini lathe in my atellier, so this project is well within my wheel house of abilities. The little mushrooms can double as a presentation/prop at the market booth, & the larger ones as gift giving containers. Thank you for the ideas! All the best to you in your endeavors!
Hmm a mushroom with a secret compartment… I wonder what I could stash in there? 🤔 🍄 😂

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I’ll check it out.
Great idea. Was that pressure treated pine?
Lovely work, I often forget how nice soft woods like pine can look, I suggest you make sure your chuck is properly seated in your tail stock, it should never slip like that when drilling, also, turning speed looks really high while drilling. with a bit that big.
What was the yellow block you used to finish it?
Raw bees wax from a local beekeeper.
How much do you sell the mushrooms for?
Thanks

These guys sell for $15 to $60. The ones with the secret compartments bring the most money of course.
Thanks Chris!
I’m gonna make a couple!!
Good Fun!

I like the video but I don't understand the wire X
It’s just for added visual interest. It’s become a bit of a signature for my work.
I like it where it’s appearing to ‘fix’ cracks a bit like how the Chinese (IIRC) used to fix cups and bowls with gold not only making them useable again but also making the piece more beautiful at the same time.
Pine 4x4s?
Yep pine 4x4s and 6x6s
Was the Pine pressure treated wood? Thank you
