You've captured the scale of this kind of operation so well. I work in a shipyard with a drydock, and it doesn't look that big, until you're walking up allll those stairs. And then you realize it can hold an entire warship and still stay afloat. I'm just so amazed at the insane level of detail here. Well done. So well done.
The water looks so real it's amazing
When you built the floating drydock a few months ago, I suspected you had a diorama in mind based on a certain famous photograph - when you built the Wee-Vee, suspicions were confirmed lol!
But this, this is simply a work of art - any naval/maritime museum would be glad to have that piece grace their collection. You not only have incredible technical abilities- amply demonstrated in your other builds - but you also have an artist's eye for composition.
While it is not a competition, because each puts their own stamp on their projects, I do believe you are the most skilled modeller on UA-cam.
It is a pleasure to watch you work.

That is amazing. I'd go frothing at the mouth bonkers trying to even come close to that. The detail is unbelievable, ladders, men, the loads of scrap on the boats and a boxing match on the turret top. Outstanding!

After watching you do the submarine being sunk by depth charges which absolutely blew my mind and now this creation. What can one say about this model diorama other than absolute perfection. You don't have a skill at all , what you have is a gift that's second to no one. You have definitely found your calling and using it for historical purposes keeping history alive . The good Lord looked down on you with favor . Keep up the great work .

Thanks. The Wee Vee was my favorite battleship, both because I was born in the Mountain State, and because of her story. From a torpedoed, bombed out hulk back to a fighting ship that was at the Tokyo Bay surrender in September 1945. It was too bad that she was sent to the scrapyards in 1848. Thanks again for visualizing a chapter of her story.

3:53 the "tents" you are referring to were awnings set up to give some shelter for crews working on the decks under the tropical sun. Church services were also held under the stern awning; benches from the mess deck (or other spaces) were set up underneath as well. Most of the battleships at Pearl Harbor had them erected on 7 December, fore and aft.

I always find that the water in water scenes really brings the finish down. What I've seen is some modelers sponge paint the base using several colors from one promary color palatte, before the tinted epoxy. This seems to make a more dynamic and realistic finish.
Make a black and white photo of your diorama and you have the real thing ! Astonishing...😀
