Great as always, Stephen! Reminder: I am the chap in the UK who had a benign brain tumour surgically removed in 2018 - still recovering. Watched your videos before & since then. Greatly helped by your involvement in brain-related matters, and I have been into fountain pens for many years. Thank you more sincerely than I can really hope to portray here. Hope you & Aziza have a wonderful New Year.
42:33 That's why I love your videos. Absolute honesty with years of experience in the hobby with just a hint of humor. Nothing flashy, no intros, no edits and bad lighting. All the ingredients needed for a true content. Thanks Mr. Brown!
I always enjoy your 'best of' videos. I like the velvet smoking jacket and your obvious enthusiasm and love of the Yard-o Lead pen is a highlight of the video.
Thank you, Stephen. For this balanced GOTY. But of course specially for all the effort you put in making your video’s, for us. Year after year. I did not ‘do’ loads of fountain pen things this year, because of moving, and other time and energy consuming things. But it is great to know you will be always there to keep the fountain pen love alive. I wish you and everyone a somewhat calm and hopeful year. Despite everything going on. 😘
The kind of video that takes 47 minutes, but feels to be over in a heartbeat due to all the delicious eye candy. Out of all the pens you have shown, the YOL is the one that speaks to me most. I should have picked up a Viceroy Pocket when they were still easily available (it seems they are discontinued if I look at YOL's website).
Thank you for another wonderful year, Stephen! You are an excellent example of kindness begetting kindness. I think you inspire kindness in all who know you.
Feels like it was 1997 3 years ago? I wasn’t even born yet. I’ve watched ur videos since I was a child in high school a few years after u started. I’m now a young man trying to navigate a world where no one my age can afford a house. Thank you for all of the entertainment, but also information, knowledge and wisdom you’ve given me throughout the years. Although, watching ur channel can be expensive. Now I’m thinking about skipping the V60 and going straight for a reuleaux
I bought a Visconti Opera Fire many years ago because Stephen liked his so much and I’m still using it to this day. Also picked up an Edison Persimmon… beautiful and comfortable. Thanks for the recommendations, from Southern Oregon.
I believe I started watching yours videos a little bit before John gave you that Yard-O-Led; I remember it perfectly because shortly after purchased me one Viceroy Grand Victorian fountain pen, which I still have. Best regards, and I wish you a very nice New Year, Stephen.
Thanks for the entertainment, information and occasional bursts of wisdom. It is very much appreciated by someone less than a year into the hobby. Been mucking around in a rabbit hole of 3D printed pens myself recently, after I saw the Platypus pens and the filling mechanism on the Model 20. Really hoping they bring the clip to their Quokka pocket pen, as it would just make the perfect shirt pocket pen that serves its function and starts conversations. Hope you find many things to be excited about yourself going forward! Happy today to you!
Your sense of humor is so beautifully dry I thought you were joking about the hidden alcohol compartment in the Visconti. You were NOT joking, correct? Happy new year sir! Thanks for the video!
Lovely collection. I don’t have any besides the BOLT,but can aspire to one or two more someday. Congratulations on 15 years. Have a good new year. Thanks for the videos.
Love the natty suit jacket and bow tie combo 🎉 When you said that it had an alcohol reserve I thought you were joking 😂 Happy New Year✌🏽 Do you find any ink clogging using the rollerball tip? Great looking pen. I really appreciate how you translate your experience of how personal and thoughtful the pen community can be. Our relationships are quite impactful, as we care and communicate that caring with one another.
Great video Dr. Brown. Very special pen sellection. Thanks for your job in this channel. Thanks a lot. Have a nice new year. Feliç any nou desde Mallorca. Salut
I look forward to this review every year. I'm in the process of culling my small herd, but there are four pens I would like someday to add, as finances allow: one of Pierre's creations because he is local to me and his work is beautiful; a Ryan Krusak maritime L5, another pen from William Shakour--I have a wonderful dip pen he made for me, but the jewel in the crown, the one I would forsake for all others, is a Yard-O-Led for all the reasons you mentioned. To know I was holding and using an absolutely unique pen carrying such a deep heritage, and that I could pass it on to the generations behind me, would be so deeply satisfying.
Thanks for the opportunity to see all these beautiful pens. Yard-O-Lead for the win: Ag! This year I have found myself most often using my ludicrously thin vintage Sailor Candy pen. For no other reason than it charms me. And it works good.
Thanks for sharing, I can’t say that I am so surprised about your list, and for most of them I have no experience, except through you. But I agree with the Bolt, I bought two (one for my daugther who’s an artist and one for me) and they are great. I just placed an order for it’s brass version which might feel more substantial according to DoodleBud. Happy new year to you and your best half!
What is it about a man in a smoking jacket? A red velvet jacket at that! Taste, articulation, and funny faces to accompany a nuanced pen discussion, mostly pens I can never dream of using, much less owning? This, sir, is a reason for watching your videos. Thank you, a fulfilling and pleasant new year to you and those about whom you are fond.
Nice list! I'm sorry to say that I got TWO ensso bolt's one fine and one medium after seeing yours and other couple of reviews and BOTH of them dry out extremely fast. Even if I keep the nib open for 5 sec, it fails to start up . I guess its just my bad luck. I love retractable ones so much and there is only limited choice. Back to my vanishing point I guess
Interesting lineup. It was nice to see SBRE Brown ink in two very different nibs. I'm curious. Do you think there would be any value to your viewers in seeing a list of favorite pens and favorite pen accessories that you reviewed during the year? Or is there some concern about upsetting vendors who didn't make the list? Keep up the good work in 2025!
Thank you for all your efforts. Have a great year turn to 2025. I just received my last pen of '24, purchased due to your "Shoot Out" review. The Majohn V60, which "Inkquiring Minds" just laid out for filth. Me? The V60 is one of my favourites. Thanks again. See you anon, in '25.
Hi Stephen, I have a Magna Carta M1000 too. Do you carry the M1000 eyedroppered with you? I'm hesitant, because I'm worried about burping/leaking... Gelukkig nieuwjaar alvast! Arjan
You're obviously wrong and an obscure 1900s Laughlin from Detroit is clearly superior, duh...but do keep making these. Even if it's all the same pens every year that I'll never buy because refer to point 1, it's still entertaining.
Oh, are you still here? It says a lot about you that you compulsively come back to watch the videos of someone you clearly hate. I'd recommend you to get a life.

watching this video is kind of a New Year's tradition. Happy to see that Dr Brown keeps rocking.
I always enjoy how you explain that these are YOUR favorites this year. Never gets old. Wishing a healthy new year for you. 🎉
I always enjoy your 'best of' videos. I like the velvet smoking jacket and your obvious enthusiasm and love of the Yard-o Lead pen is a highlight of the video.
"your pen maker by royal appointment" made me giggle snort. Thank you for all you do.
True eye candy sir. Enjoyed as always. And, "It's a Visconti so several parts have come off over the years", made me giggle.
Good to know, I can take Visconti off my wish list.
Thank you, Stephen. For this balanced GOTY. But of course specially for all the effort you put in making your video’s, for us. Year after year.

I love this series! Thanks Stephen and I wish you a Happy New Year!
I will Buy a 149 in 2025
@blodman7441 I'll suggest to buy that in-person, from an authorised reseller.
Excellent video as usual, Happy New Year! :)
selamat tahun baru (happy New Year) in the Malay language, I'm Fergus from Malaysia. always enjoy your sharing. thank you.
Happy new year to you

Oh no, it actually has that compartment!

Happy New Year to you (started watching your videos 13 years ago, Noodlers pens, etc!
Dr Brown got a great taste in pens and we wish him the best year in 2025!
Thank you very much Stephen for another year full of pens, useful information & contemplation! Have a wonderful 2025!
Great Stephen. I look forward to GOAT every year.
Thank you Stephen and particularly introducing me to pens from smaller pen artists. Have a very successful 2025.

A fantastic selection as always Stephen. I look forward to your reviews in 2025 and wish you a happy new year
Thanks for the opportunity to see all these beautiful pens. Yard-O-Lead for the win: Ag!
This year I have found myself most often using my ludicrously thin vintage Sailor Candy pen. For no other reason than it charms me. And it works good.
Forget the pens, that jacket and tie combo is killer.

eclipsed 10 years of viewership. happy new year!
Extremely enjoyable "year in review". That people think you keep all the pens that are sent to you is NUTS
always enjoyable. thanks for sharing.

So elegant! What do you think of Visconti?
On the 5th day of christmas sbrebrown gave to me 5 RHODIUM RINGS
So full of... insight. Good job professor.
I dont watch as much as I used to (I have enough pens now), but I look forward to seeing the GOATS every year!
Happy New Year! 15ml, incredible
if you're looking for a good yellow ink, I always loved Wearingeul's Heimdall. Touch on the orange side but very legible.

Fantastic. Keep getting healthier Sir,
Thank you for all your efforts. Have a great year turn to 2025. I just received my last pen of '24, purchased due to your "Shoot Out" review. The Majohn V60, which "Inkquiring Minds" just laid out for filth. Me? The V60 is one of my favourites. Thanks again. See you anon, in '25.
That shakour is crazy. Wish you the best as well.
Willian is sich an awesome guy and he is truly an artist with his pens! I second Titan Pens!
I just purely love you ❤️😂
Hi Stephen,
I have a Magna Carta M1000 too. Do you carry the M1000 eyedroppered with you? I'm hesitant, because I'm worried about burping/leaking...
Gelukkig nieuwjaar alvast!
Arjan
Yes, and I haven't had any issues!
@@sbrebrown Thank you for getting back to me. I use a converter and then it definitely lacks flow. I'll try pouring a bottle of ink in it 🤪

Hey there!
Your list goes to eleven.
...and how much of your OWN cash, have you laid out on pens this year, is more to the point?
Oh, are you still here? It says a lot about you that you compulsively come back to watch the videos of someone you clearly hate. I'd recommend you to get a life.
@@sbrebrown Haha, still here. Just want to wish you a Happy New Year.(why would I hate you?)
Why is that any of your business? You are allowing envy to bring out your ugliness.
