Still sends shivers down my spine this one. That bassline is on another level and Robert Owens never sounded more tortured. Then we have Harri Dennis adding a level of cool with his smooth vocal riding over that insane percussion. A great track!
There's a lot of records in my collection but this is one that will always be special, bring back a lot of memories and transport back to '86 every time I hear it. Like you I would hear these on the radio. On a Friday night at about 2 AM, then I'd be out the next day trying to track them down. I miss those times, that feeling of getting the record and then waiting to get home to play it.
Walking down Van Buren after turning off of State Street….passing by Rialto’s….opened the door….the heat, humidity….the bass and that mutha hollerin’….She Left Me…I can’t understand….Doooooonnnnie!!! Too many memories!!
Music Box on Cermack in Chicago. Leaving when the sun is up. Clothes soaking wet. Brand new Diadora gym shoes are now grey from the sweat in the bathroom. Girbaud jeans are twice as heavy due to sweat. Ears are ringing and eyes are burning. Oh if I could dance that hard today! Good memories gone by.
YES SIR LIKE THE WAREHOUSE!! CATCHING CRAMPS AND RUNNING TO THE CAR IN THE WINTER BECAUSE WE DIDN'T WANT TO BABYSIT OUR COATS BECAUSE CHECK IN WAS FULL!!
Wild Wild 💯's in full effect!! This soul thumpin, heart racing, cut is basically the epitome of what it's like to be from the Chi town when classic deep house was spun in the inconic night clubs here-- like The Whare house, The Power Plant, etc. Yeah I know, it just goes to show you that as I always say-- it's still and always will be all about a Chi town old skool house head nation thang 💯💯🔥🔥 forever and a day!!
One of my all time fav house tracks, brings back great memories of smokey sweaty clubs in London in the late eighties, amazing vocals from Mr Owens, would liked to of been a fly on the wall when they recorded this.... the lyrics are another level when it comes to passion and hurt . Thank you for uploading 🙏🏼
I'm not really sure what you're asking but I've not changed or altered this at all. This is recorded from the original 12" on D.J. International from 1986 and those off kilter drums at the 2 minute mark sound just like that. Hope that helped?
@@grossberger666 1986 mostly hip house space electro this was very rare my man i was there you can not fil a top 100 with these early tunes and this quality ..... for shure not jb....
Thanks. I've always loved this 12" and every mix is fantastic. For once though I actually rate the radio mix very highly and it's just a shame that it's so short. However that's the idea of a radio mix I guess.
@DannyKing3000 Thanks for the thanks. Just let me know if you think I might have a particular track and I'll do my best to get it posted. By the way, if you go to my channel page and do an artist search you're more likely to get back a result than through just searching in UA-cam's main search field.
@musicconquersall Thanks man. I'm very open minded when it comes to music tastes. A lot of my friends are metalheads and musicians, and you wouldn't believe the times I've found my self losing it on the dance floor to Grindcore. Just a few years back we discovered an underground metal club where all manner of things went on, and the energy in that dark pit of a room! Of course the word got out and it moved to a bigger venue and was destroyed by it's own success, but just for a brief moment!
thank you! I don't speak english very well! this is the problem! I like at 2'00", I do an observation about the beauty of this point! thank you for answer!
I've got the 'Dub Mix' posted as a video response but other than that I decided not to post the 'Radio' and 'Club' mixes (off the original 12") as they were already found loads of times on UA-cam.
Nyc 1985 Paradise Garage. The IT STARTED ALL THIS. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND. OWENS Heard and Jungle WONZ. 😢😢😢
A house classic cut!

Totally agree with you on the Robert Owens sounding tortured, for me personally that’s was makes the track so powerful, thanks again for uploading.
