So let me get this straight... This tag is for finding and tracking lost things. But in order to do so, we have to keep the things near us or else it won't work... Am I missing something?

This works same way as Apple AirTag but the catch is if iphone is in range Airtag will be tracked easily , but for this Jio tag the person around must have this app too

The thing is, the actual cost to consumer of apple's implementation of the same isn't even worth 2K. But they charge 3500 for it, cuz apple and people are ready to pay for the convenience. At this point apple products are more of a social status rather than being actual necessity for an average consumer.

Not a useful device as we don't get live location after disconnection. Only use case is to activate the disconnection alarm if we leave behind Car Key/ Laptop etc. Apple Tag has live location feature, thus it's much more useful & people can pay the premium.

Bluetooth wala success nahi hai isme short range milta hai 10 meter ka jo kisi kaam ka nahi aur ye kafi expensive bhi hai flipkart pe aur bhi aesa hai jo 200 Rs me mil jata hai usme bhi yahi features hai, Gsm based setelite communication hi sabse best hota hai jo expensive to hai lekin success bhi hai.
What's the utility of this thing ? It works only when connected to bluetooth. Range of bluetooth devices is just 10 m.

It will be use only if it can show live location of my thing even it is disconnected from device. Suppose I have attached this device with my bike and it got lost, In that condition if it can able to show live location of my thing, then it will be great device, otherwise not.
It can in theory like if someone with Jio Things app is nearby then it can pickup on that location

This is no where compare to Apple tag, that is gps based this is just a bluetooth device, you can keep smart watch ⌚️ also in luggage and will do same thing.
I brought PET gps that's can actually show location because it's gsm based.
While Apple tag gets get to other nearby apple devices and sends location.

So the tracking range is the bluetooth range. One can't track like a GPS device. Basically this is simply useless. I have a better GPS tag that can be tracked from anywhere with a mobile signal, and location can be seen in google map.

Jio tags is very sub standard device. Work in very small range and also doesnt show direction. Not much useful..waste of money ..don't go for it.
