- This game probably has some of the BEST VR graphics / most realistic VR visuals you've ever seen but is it fun to play? Hubris VR just launched today and it's almost certainly going to wow VR players all over the world with it's amazing VR graphics, some of these locations look photorealistic with unbelievable lighting, character animations and some truly gorgeous water physics. Beyond that however the first hour and a half of this 4hr long VR sci-fi adventure is a little light on excitement, with a slower pace, enemies who don't offer much challenge and a lack of puzzles or set pieces to truly engage the player it's hard to land on a final verdict just yet. The latter half of Hubris VR could ramp up the excitement but for this Hubris first impressions / Hubris VR gameplay video I was left incredibly satisfied by the movement mechanics and mind blowing visuals but also left a little wanting in terms of gameplay and excitement...

Spectator view ALWAYS looks "better" than the VR view looks: but you're not counting pixels in vr. You're in awe of being IN the game, instead of playing A game. Saints and sinners is a great example: psvr2 is THE best way to play those two games, doesn't matter how expensive your hmd and PC are, psvr2 is THE best visual experience you can have on that game and it still doesn't look as good as spectator view. Once you understand how displays work, you'll understand how that works lol. That sounded rude but I didn't mean it that way at all! Just sharing some knowledge 🤷♂️

May I ask why PSVR is your recommendation? Planning to buy one later and my current choice is the Valve one. What differentiates PSVR from the rest?

I know my computers not amazing but it's about medium, but can a damn good computer really boost the quest this much? I've used my link cable to play Half Life Alyx and Phasmophobia and it looks a little better but it's still an N64 game compared to Beardos gameplay. I also know I'm using a quest and not a $1000. Dollar system but Benjos clearly also using a quest 2.
You need to change the default resolution of the quest on the desktop app once connected
I personally didn’t feel like the difference between low and max settings in Alyx was that dramatic. It’s not particularly realistic even maxed out. The most impactful change you’d probably be able to make with a high end system in that particular game is to really push your resolution.

@@Kastor0311 quest 3 is at the stage PC VR was at 10 years ago. Another 5-10 years (accounting for moores law) it will be indistinguishable to today's PC VR. Phones are now matching the processing power of laptops and in some cases betting them... so to say "nothing will ever look that good", is bull... try the quest 3 in 1 years time, because it isn't using anywhere near its full capacity right now. 👌🫡 the ONLY issue is heat. Processing it can absolutely do.

Visually I think 12 but I haven't played yet but I'll tell you when I do
I think its a solid 7 for me. It is flawed. The gameplay loop bland when comparing it to half life alyx and such. That is why you shouldnt compare it. Hubris is an absolutely stunning vr game by a New Indie studio. Visually it can compete with Alyx. But mechanically it can not. I dont blame cyborn for this. Hubris is their first vr game ever. And seeing what they have already achieved, i can not wait for their future titles.

@@realname2490 ofcourse you can compare them. But comparing them wont make any sence in my opinion. There are barely any AAA developers out there. So getting your standards up high will likely end up in you disliking a lot of good games such as this one. If i may ask. What did you think of Red Matter 2? If you experienced it ofcourse.
3 at best. Some things look great in the headset but it's not nearly as good looking as it's made out to be. Characters look nice but most other things are bland and the art style is uninspired. Gameplay and story are boring as can be. Real reviews and not influencers who act like every vr game is amazing tend to agree. This game would get no attention if it wasn't vr

It's nice indeed, but for a game whose developers relied so intently on the water's graphics to hype it up, the lack of light refraction when looking at it from the surface and the complete absence of god rays and depth of field effects when submerged is appalling, and considering this in clear contrast with the overall quality of the rest of the graphical representation the results are more immersion-breaking that it usually in game with a less realistic visual approach.
No..I have it on Quest 2 which is capable of 4k resolution, however hubris or any other game on the Quest 2 looks absolutely horrendous.
