None of these come close to the Galatasaray - Fenerbahçe transcontinental derby. The pure tension and raw emotions present on derby day cannot be matched. During derby day, not only does Istanbul, the whole of Turkey is just ready to implode at any time. Very dissapointed you guys added some random fishing village from Norway or whatever and not the most meaningful derby of all.

Did you watch the last old firm match ,the atmosphere was just as good as the atmosphere at the new firm Derby. Celtic fans are overrated at the league cup final the fans only sang and made noise after they scored United fans were making more noise than the "legendary" Celtic fans. Yes accept they may have a good atmosphere at some games but every time I've seen them the fans have been poor only singing occasionally.

The Dortmund fans are amazing I remember we (Liverpool) were winning them 3-0 and they were still singing. At one point they even started singing yellow submarine xD

I won't this list is bullshit because it's based on YOUR favorite experiences, but there are far, far better atmospheres than some of the ones you mentioned here. First, the obvious ones. Istanbul Derby, Superclasico, Old Firm. And you really should go to Legia Warzawa, Lech Poznan and Wisla Krakow. I hate their politics, but the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Loud, organized singing, good choreographies, and pyrotechnics on a very frequent basis.

I know Rangers aren't the same club but Celtic deserves at least a mention. Even Messi says Celtic Park is the best atmosphere

Hey Copa90! I can't believe you haven't visited Stockholm yet! Every derby brings a top class atmosphere whether which two of the city's three big clubs are playing (AIK, Djurgården, Hammarby).

Copa90 Maybe you could try the "south-west Derby" between 1.FC Kaiserslautern and Karlsruher SC in Germanys secound League.
Two of the biggest traditional clubs in Germany, only 66 km distance and one of the most intense derby atmospheres all over germany.
Both clubs are aspirants for going into the Bundesliga, thats one reason for the big meaning of this incredible derby.
They play at Karlsruhe on october 25 and at Kaiserslautern on april 10.

You literally HAVE to go watch the rival match in Portugal of Benfica vs Porto who always end up competing in Portugal for the first place finish! Benfica vs Sporting is also a huge rivalry as they're both located in Lisbon and are both well known internationally. This year the Benfica vs Sporting match should be even more intense as Benfica's manager 'Jorge Jesus' who was at Benfica for 6 seasons went to the rivals sporting Lisbon this season after winning 10 trophies at Benfica, so for sure Benfica vs Sporting, should be an even crazier game than usual this season!

Some the comments here are ridiculous. These are the top 10 that copa90 themselves have actually been to and witnessed the game inside the stadium . You can't film a documentary inside an old firm game . Some games for other teams don't allow away fans so that comes into effect also . This is copa90 personal top ten.

Tigres - Monterrey in Mexico is by far the best derby in all of Northern America! Seattle and timbers shouldn't even be in the last. That's nothing compared to Tigres and Monterry

The AIK-DIF derby (Sweden) "The Twin Derby" (Both clubs were founded within a month). 10th of august
celtic park on a European night or an old firm game beats all of these because a good atmosphere isn't about lighting flares and setting stadiums on fire imo that makes a pretty shit atmosphere

Celtic park and Dortmund are the best atmospheres in football.
When Germany need a result they always play at Dortmund.
Celtic park on a big Euro night or old firm game has a sensational atmosphere as the noise is trapped inside due to the design of the ground and noise of the fans.
The top players in football have said Celtic park cant be beaten for atmosphere.
If only Celtic played in a better league it would always be full and it would have to be the place to be.

Glasgow Derby and Istanbul Derby definitely have a fair shout to be included in this! Also think the boys down at Fratton Park deserve a shout out this. Went through numerous dodgy owners, administration, relegation from BPL to League 2 and nearly went into liquidation. Yet still have over 15,000 fans turning up each week and even stayed long after the final whistle in support of the team when there was fear of the club going out of business. Now that's true support, I take my hat off to them even when I'm not a Pompey fan.

faruk erol We loved that game but when we went there were no away fans in the stadium so didn't feel fair to include it. It was an incredible atmosphere though. Some of the loudest support we've ever encountered!

Western Sydney Wanderers in West Sydney, Australia. Fans call themselves the RBB. Not as big of an atmosphere compared to everywhere else in the world but for the A-League, it's as good as it gets.

AIK - Djurgården. "The Twin Derby" in Stockholm. The biggest derby in northern Europe! Djugården hasn't beaten AIK in 1421 days on the next matchday which is august 10th. But this year Djurgården has shocked everyone and is at this moment 3rd in the Allsvenskan. This game I promise will be epic and something Swedish football hasn't seen for years. It's the north vs the south. The poor vs the rich. It's the epic, Twin Derby.

Old Firm atmospheres are by far the best thing I've ever seen. Insane not to have them in there. Atmospheres are brilliant at the games and a lot of people don't realise they are 2 of the biggest clubs in the world. A lot younger people from outside of Scotland don't understand how big Rangers and Celtic are. Best rivalry in British football. Ibrox is just incredible.

Monitor for the next Levski - CSKA derby in Sofia, Bulgaria. CSKA were sent to divison 3 amidst financial problems, but they could still meet in the Cup so monitor and if it happens - check it out and experience another magnificent Balkan atmosphere which can truly only be compared to the Belgrade, Athens, Bucharest, and Istanbul derbies (well and Boca-River too).

You HAVE to go to Magdeburg. The FCM is famous for his fans in Germany. 20.000 at every game, and it is only the third german league! Pure Passion, I promise!
for me it was Boca Juniors at the La Bombonera - absolutely superb atmosphere... also attended a Partizan Belgrade game which was a bit scary, but at the end good fun.

Superclassico in Argentina and FC Porto vs SL Benfica in Portugal. Portuguese ultras and all environment around the game is amazing!
Once I went to Porto vs Frankfurt and the frankfurt fans were of of the best I've seen in the Porto stadium, there was like 6k fans there from them (more than benfica or sporting when they play us away) and I heard older people near me in the stadium that only Celtic in this century had the best fans in terms of atmosphere

When united play city or Liverpool at old Trafford it is the best atmosphere in england
English (mainly the Premier League) atmospheres are dull in comparison to the places shown in this video, it shows us how conserve the fans are in this country. E.g Just sitting, watching the game and going home; not cheering for their team near as much as these clubs. That's why no English stadium was mentioned in this video.
Palace have the best atmosphere in the Prem. Anfield is boring , only sing YNWA and that's it

You might not get this suggestion too often but seriously, go watch Al-Wehdat vs Al-Faisaly in Jordan. Because football means basically everything in Jordan, the clash of the league's 2 biggest sides is huge - despite the small size of the country. The derby also means more than just football, it's a clash between the Palestinians (Al-Wehdat) and native Jordanians (Al-Faisaly) of Jordan supporting rival sides.

Malmö FF vs Helsingborgs IF in Sweden in Malmö. It is the Derby of Skåne (the Derby of South Sweden) and it can get quite intense! The atmosphere gives you goosebumps in Swedbank Stadion in Malmö!
Went to Bohemian in pre season with Newcastle. was something different to other away matches. having a pub in the stadium is special enough. The people were great aswell. certainly enjoyed myself over there.
Please GO TO MONTERREY, MÉXICO. You have to experience the Northern Mexican Derby Between Tigres and Monterrey! It's intense you won't regret it!

my team is Tigres UANL, their fan base is the most passionate and intense in all of Mexico and possibly all of Northern America. currently they are in the Copa Libertadores Final against River Plate.

One place you have never been is tynecastle. Home to the best atmosphere in scottish football both in the stands and on the pitch. Most games are usually sold out so for scottish football at this point in time is a massive achievment especially since just over a year ago we nearly had no club to support due to our financial situation. However we have come back stronger after being helped into fan ownership by our current owner. We might not have the best hooligans or "ultras" but we've proved you don't need them to have a great atmosphere so i would highly recommend a visit.

You should definately try Rapid Bucharest. Relegated to Romanian second gear, they still have a full stadion every match and the atmosphere is amazing!

GO TO WEST HAM on the last game of the season, it is west ham's last game at the historic Upton Park its bit of a while of yet but it's a game not to be missed, the atmosphere will be even better that its usually is on match day. Also could take Spencer Owen (Spen FC) as he is a hammer!
How have you not been to the Superclasico! It will certainly be the best derby you'll ever go to, and will make for an fantastic Derby Days episode. Both Boca and River Plate have unbelievable support, support that will match or quite possibly surpass any other that you've ever experienced. It's a Derby that always provides, and will be incredible!

Come to Cyprus... Biggest derby is between APOEL Nicosia vs AC Omonoia Nicosia. The 2 most famous clubs in Cyprus, they share the same stadium. Derby days are crazy!!!
