After all she has been through, including the death of her dear friend Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan rises like the phoenix and rocks us in her 7th decade of life....and she looks fabulous!!
I became a fan of Chaka Khan after seeing her perform with "Rufus" and "Parliament/Funkadelic" on campus at my alma mater the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) way back in the late 1970s. This is a wonderful song, but last night was my first time hearing it. Bumper music on "Make It Plain with Mark Thompson" Progressive Talk Channel 127 - Sirius extraterrestrial radio brought me here.
omg, at this age, wow, as dynamo as she was in any age. Chaka is the real thing. A real singer and a real diva. This is the kind of voice nobody will every question. I hope we here who really listens to real singing and music like this should help push this to be a hit.
I don't have a clue where some of these comments are coming from, this song is not desperate at all, Chaka nailed it and this song is nothing like the 'corporate crap' that today's staff
Well comeon6 your'e right on point and please know THAT I AM THE FAN OF CHAKA KHAN. She is musically timeless and brillant and unless you know her catalog, like you stated, a person wouldn't understand, BUT I GET IT AND I AGREE WITH YOU! GREAT SONG CHAKA KHAN.
Chaos is definitely the "Earth Mother" of Music !!! She has always put something uplifting & positive or something to make you "Think" in all her albums!!!
Did you hear the lyrics negative's cousin? Since when do horrible pop stars encourage people in their songs? Open your ears and mind and realize that it's 2013. Chaka is a crossover QUEEN and has the talent and inspiration to visit MANY generes. If you were a true fan you would understand her catalog.
Chaka is a wonderful singer, not only because she does have a solid technique but more importantly the musicianship to deliver a song. However it is disappointing that Chaka has fallen into the same problem that many ageing artists have which is to have subpar songs
If what I said was very true, how can you refute it by claiming it is simplistic. Being a good singer does not always make the songs that you perform equally as good
Sure wished the dancers would have been dressed differently...the t shirts aren't working right for some reason...she's better than that....looked like rehearsal footage for the video...they could have used similar costumes that echoed what she was wearing in different designs to make it look professional instead of looking community playhouse type performance art.
I actually think it IS over, for me anyway. This has got to be the worst song I've ever heard because Chaka is singing it. It's the same corporate crap written for horrible pop stars we see today. I hope the price was right for her to sell out like that.

Stars* sing. It has meaning, go Chaka! She killed that performance, and she still has it, I love her!
Chaka took a good song and turned it GREAT by doing it exactly as she always has. Add several layers of Wall of Chakas backgrounds and it's DONE!
Love the live version better than the actual studio version! 🔥🔥🔥🎵🎶 Sang Chaka!

very generic melody and cliched lyrics
