Folks - I may have been a little premature in posting this review as not all suppliers yet have stock (it is new to the market) - give it a few days and check back, I'm assured all usual suppliers will have stock soon....
I won't buy Oxford anymore regardless on reviews, once lost the keys to a disk lock ... Took me a total of 5 seconds to remove it, last yeah I bought the first line of textiles they released, done maybe 1500 miles in 2 months and between the shoulder and elbow just started coming apart (Not even on stitching!) ... however this is due to my experience with their build quality, I don't trust them haha.
I tried this jacket on at the motorcycle show and it fitted very well if a bit short on the arm length given that I have monkey arms...it was very comfy not very thick so maybe the reviews could tell us what it's like in the cold and I don't mean 9'c lol
I've got the Alpinestars Andes Touring jacket and trousers and I have to say they're fantastic. Been using them for 3 years or so, and I think they cost me £300-£350 for the set. Doesn't leak, zip out thermal layers on both parts and really comfortable. Even good to use on my sports bike 👍🏻
Glad you got around to posting this sooner than later. I bought the full kit last week, and put it to good use commuting to and from work for the past few days, its been a little chilly oooop norf, but the suit has kept me warm, might put the thermal liner in next week🤣🤣 . No rain test as yet but i'm sure it will happen. Nice one 👍
Now that's something that you wouldn't need to ask twice, for your family to help with. Have you had a big sub surge over the last week's? You are exceptionally close to 100k subs. Congrats (now) and well deserved.
Thanks so much for the thorough review. I'd already just purchased this set and was wondering just how good it would actually be for the money, not having seen any reviews before I bought it (silly on my part I know) but this review has made me much happier about my purchase. So few reviews actually show it being used in all weather for real. So it's great to see you actually using this stuff. Thanks for your video it's a real relief.
I've just bought this kit, now I see your review, I seem to have made the right choice. Riding down to Greece soon, we'll see what it's like in the hot!
I have just received my Oxford wax jacket that I ordered from S.B.S. after watching your review, you weren't wrong, it's as you said and great value for money. Thanks.
Great review, thanks, based on this i have just bought this suit as a temp replacement for my Rukka that's had to go off for repair again (2nd time in five years) Lets see how it fairs through the Blighty winter!
I like Your Suit. I must say you guys wear really cool gear. I really don't know much about riding gears but I have seen these gear in Motofever when I was in Dubai and found something very very cool for me. "A RIDING SUIT" and the suit was like that was the thing I was waiting to buy for myself.
Thanks for posting. Sounds like a great product. I appreciate you producing a separate video for the suit instead of incorporating the review into your Norway tour videos. In the spirit of transparency, it was not clear to me whether you purchased the suit, or if it was a tester suit lent/given to you by Oxford for you to review. Thanks again for posting.
Just brought this with the recommendation from you 🤞 they work well, on blood bikes this weekend and it's supposed to rain so 🤞, hope your both ok and staying safe
Nice jacket, wish I had looked at those before buying my Rukka. Dam it! I think your assistant was in seventh heaven when you suggested that little clip.
I use the Bmw GS rally jacket and trousers which are amazing for weather protection and looks great but. It’s the body armour that worries me I think if you hit the road it’s definitely a trip to get your bones repaired. I just feel slightly vulnerable in them. Your daughter would have enjoyed doing that more with a pressure washer lol👍
Thanks for the timely review. I bought the Mondial Trousers (I've plenty of jackets) at the show last Wednesday but haven't had chance to try them yet.
I have just ordered the Jacket and Trousers off the back of your review, and using the links in description. I really do hope they are as waterproof as you say. looking forward to trying them out. cheers mate.
I purchased a pair of Oxford pants (not the Mondial) in August 2017. The seam split in November 17. Oxford did replace the pants in January 18, and I started using the new pair in April 18 when the weather cooled off. The second pair also split on the seam, in a different spot, by July 18. I have subsequently purchased a pair of Alpinestars laminated pants which to date have given me no cause for concern.
I just got the jacket and think it's excellent. I have my CBT tomorrow and will be doing my DAS in winter. So I wanted a good jacket for the training. It's the fifth jacket I tried but have sent all the others back. As soon as I put the Oxford Mondial on it felt just right. It fits me well and has all the features I want such as waterproof without a liner, removable thermal liner, good pocket options and good ventilation. In fact it fits me better than all the other jackets I tried. I am 5ft 8", 38" or 39" chest and usually between a small and medium in clothing. The medium in this jacket fits me well. I would like the neck to close tighter and higher, which is a downside. But the only other criticism is that the jacket doesn't look very exciting. It's just a plain black jacket and doesn't look flashy. It's a tool to get a job done. Nothing more and nothing less. Maybe the grey, like yours, would have looked a little more exciting. But I'm happy with it. Of all the jackets I tried this was the best all rounder and the best value. I will probably now get the trousers because I'm impressed with the jacket.
1990 Yes, mine was brought around the same time and I have proofed it once or twice in that time and it’s still keeps the worse weather at bay. The only thing that has failed on my Rukka jacket is the back protector broke and the Rukka one I replaced it with has come apart in the middle. However I can either buy another back protector or bond the two pieces together somehow.
As a biker on a budget (and always have been for 25 years), I don’t think £450 is cheap! If you haven’t already TMF would you consider checking cheaper stuff out please. I wore an £85! Buffalo jacket for 100000m and it NEVER leaked. Still use it as a spare. Just saying...
Absolutely agree on that. My alpine stars jacket and trousers were £200 and £190 respectively, and they were premium brand clothes. My original jacket from when I started was budget; at just £60.
My Alpinestars Andes V2 jacket and pants have the same type of construction, I love them. Last summer I got caught in a horrendous downpour during the start of a thunderstorm, I stayed totally dry.
Excellent review Im looking to replace my trusty jacket of about 6 years looks like this one is perfect Many thanks and PS great channel keep up the great work
Tried a set of these on at the bike show last week. I liked them a lot. Three things to point out: the armour is not the top spec but you can change this of course, the back armour pocket is quite small so coverage is limited, and lastly, they don't do an XL long leg in the blue suit. Real shame as I would have bought them on the spot. I'm going to wait until they come into my local shop at Helmet City and have a look at the other colours that weren't at the bike show. I know it's not gortex blah, blah, blah but this is a great suit for the money. It's also very hard to find anywhere at the moment. The Oxford guy I spoke to expects more stock to be distributed by Xmas. That's handy!
Thanks TMF, however water resistance is surely not the single most important aspect of motorcycle apparel? Unfortunately, abrasion and burst resistance rarely seem to be tested in gear reviews (other than by the likes of Ride mag etc,) and manufacturers seem to use the fitment of CE rated armour as a smokescreen for their products overall safety. There are CE standards for material abrasion resistance, seam strength etc, yet few manufactuers appear to submit their garments for testing, including some of the really high end brands such as Klim and Rukka. Personally, I feel it's time the industry got it's act together over this, so that the bike buying public can evaluate (objectively) whether their bike clothing is fit for purpose. A bin liner is waterproof - sticking some CE approved armour into it surely doesn't make it protective? Interestingly, I purchased a two piece riding suit from Aldi a couple of years ago for under £200, and the entire outfit (not merely the armour) is CE rated.....
@@hyperthunk oops, apologies for my waspish tone Tim! Aldi usually have their bike gear in stock for a limited period in spring. However, they didn't run it at my local store this year, so I'm wondering if they've dropped the annual bike promotion altogether. Shame if they have, as some (but by no means all) of their stuff is really very good and excellent value.
I have the mondial jacket in black myself and absolutely love it. i removed the thermal lining for the summer, had the vents open, and didnt overheat or anything, it was really comfy. i fitted the thermal liner a few weeks ago and it's great now the mercury has dropped, so i concur with alll you said :), & i'm so happy i paid the extra for it than what i initially budgeted. It cost me £269 in the summer + back protector, but now the price has dropped to £199 at SBS, so it's great value. i'm in the market atm for warmer trousers rather than jeans with long johns so will take a look, but im not one to ride when it's raining and dont commute, so may opt for the duchinni pacific trousers, which look to provide value at less than a third the price, but im still undecided until i try them on, so thanks for the info
This outfit seems to be similar in concept to the Aerostich jacket and trousers (made in Duluth, Minnesota USA) that I have been using for a number of years. You are sure right about the convenience of not having to stop to adjust your clothing to handle changing weather conditions when you wear an outfit such as these. The 'Stich motorcycle gear is fairly popular here.
Having bought the Mondial suit as my first, proper biking gear (doing my DAS now) I can attest to the suit being brilliant. One less thing to worry about when learning to ride a motorbike!
Personally once you try a laminated textile suit, you'll never go back to layered systems! I'm on my second laminated suit as I commute as well as pleasure riding.
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes, I have been for the last 3 yrs. Before that I used a Hein Gerrick laminated suit for ages until the lining became threadbear on both the jacket and the trousers. However I still use it during the summer as the Rukka suit is a bit thick for summer and doesn't have the ventilation. I've gotta say, I like the look of this Oxford suit, and for the price, it's a winner.
One more thing that's awesome about laminate textiles is that once you've been in the wet weather for a while and then stopped it doesn't hold any water to speak of. Very good for commuting, in my old layered stuff i would get to work and then at the end of the day have to put on horrible soggy gear, with laminated stuff it dries almost straight away as the water is just on the surface
I wear the Oxford mondial jacket and trousers too. Super comfy in all conditions, great price. The Oxford back protector is only £25 online. (Absolute must in my opinion). Just great kit….
We done the the NC500 wild rain when we crossed the top of Scotland at 60mph for 8 hrs Dianese, alpinestar everyone was soaked through, now carry a one piece over suit to go over my dianese waterproof gear!
Hi TMF. Well after further phone calls I found Fowlers in Bristol had limited stock, so I am now the proud owner of a Grey Mondial suit and I got a 20% Black Friday discount buying it this aftenoon. Also bought new Gore Tex boots as my old boots have been leaking badly. Can't wait to go out in the rain and cold to try it all!!. Did I really say that!
Waited a long time for this review and did not disappoint its going on my Christmas present list . When you said it is very light that sold it for me my RST is way to heavy Thank's again :)
What gloves do you wear with this setup and how do you stop water ingressing via your neck, I’m down in Cornwall and ride everyday, sometimes long rides and I cannot seem to stop the water increasing via my neck and my gloves even though they say waterproof are always like lead weights. Thank you for your excellent videos.
Been looking at this jacket for the last two years ‘umming and ahing’ as to whether I buy it or not. Recently reduced from £250 to £168 so had no reason not to get it. So far just as you described. Many thanks.
Worth the wait TMF. Couple of questions for you - how is it compared to the RST Adventure (2?) kit you wore previously? The cooling on the RST kit looked like it might be better, but I'm curious to see your opinion. The trousers seem to have similar venting to the Rev'It trousers I have and it's not massively effective in the super hot weather. And the other bit is about the neck slider. I've got a similar thing on my Rev'It Safari 3 and it drives me mad as it never stays in the middle setting, slightest bit of tension on it and it slides to the biggest position - but the middle one gives me a really good seal without being uncomfortable. Wondered if you experienced any such things with this jacket?
I way prefer this over the RST just because it's properly waterproof without that underlayer, I loved my RST kit but if it got water logged, it got cold....
Brilliant review, thanks TMF I've had 2 laminated jackets now, wouldn't go back! I'm curious about the puffer jacket instead of the liner do you have a preference as to which one. I'd be interested to know which you use..
Agree about using a bonded textile suit. I've use a badlands klim suit and it's so good not to have to worry about carrying extra liners. Bit more expensive than this Oxford setup (🙄) but it's good to know that more manufacturers are now offering the same at cheaper price points.
Andy, I can’t believe it……I’m turning into you! I bought a GS recently; turns out that it’s identical to your red one. Then, without seeing this review, I bought some new textiles…..guess which? And in which colour? 😂. Keep up the good work!
I'm currently planning on buying this set when I get my new PCX so its good to know its worth it, though I tend to get quite a lot of guff for wearing gear like this when I only ride 125cc mopeds.
With the older waterproof liner your dry but the jacket isnt. With laminate its meant to stop the jacket soaking up the water. Did your jacket get heavy and take a long time to dry? I saw a comment on another video where someone said this jacket doesnt shed water so either they bought a faulty one or maybe the version 1.0 i also heard this is 10k hydrostatic whereas the richa infinity pro 2 is 20k im torn between the 2 jackets
I bought this for my first riding suit, and it’s done the job, but after owning it for less than two years, I just rode about 80 miles in horrible British weather and the trousers are not waterproof. I’ve had to have a bath to warm my neither regions up. It’s ok for a bit, hence why this test works but, longer distance, nope. Like anything you get what you pay for, but if you do a lot of mileage and in bad weather, I’d spend my money else where.
Hello Mr Flyer. Great review. I don’t know if someone has already asked the question. How do you clean and look after you Mondial. I not on the tab it says hand wash at 30oC. Do you put it in the washing machine? Thanks
Also the way those vent flaps look, I feel like riding high speed in torrential rain, water would ingress past the velcro and thru the mesh (unless there is the laminate behind the velcro vent)?
Great review, I was pondering what to replace my ancient, but brilliant Hein Gereke stuff with, but felt reluctant to spend one million pounds on the newly fashionable adventure kit. 👍
Thanks for the review. Question, Why didn't you open your hand guards, for more air flow, in Norway when it was so warm and can you do a review of your heated gloves? Cheers
looks a good piece of kit at a very good price .I have KLIM BADLANDS JACKET AND TROUSERS for just under 5 years trousers leaked after 4years just sent them back replaced seams good as new now just wondering what guarantee u got with these OXFORD JACKETS AND TROUSERS GREAT REVIEW
Hi Andy Took your advice and bought the new improved version of this suit and well impressed with it. I’d suggest to others to go one size up on the trousers as they seem to be a snug fit....or am I just getting fatter with this current lockdown 😳 Cheers Brian
I bought one of these recently and on the first day of wearing it was tested in thirty miles of torrential rain. In itself it was waterproof, but despite being on an adventure bike, (so behind a screen) cold water found its way down the low neck of the jacket, bypassing all that clever laminated material. The other area where I was a little disappointed is the size of the (optional) back protector. It is 10 cms shorter than the back protector in my previous jacket and only protects the upper half of the spine. On the plus side it costs less than £200 and doesn't wet out like my previous jacket!
Looks like nice kit, as someone about to get a bike and associated clothing, Sorry to be thick, I am told there are two schools of thought on wearing hi-visibility gear. Is there a considered position by the established biking world on this, if not, do you have a view on hi-viz kit or not? Thanks TMF
Well all I can say is generally speaking I don’t wear it (don’t like the look) but there’s no good reason not to wear it if you see what I mean - so I probably should...hard to argue against making yourself more visible...
.... except their is no overall evidence from peer reviewed research that "HI-Vis" actually is at all highly visible, in fact it can camouflage you in some situations e.g. as a traffic cone (LOL), or dappled light under trees, ripe corn fields etc. Now reflectives at night. they really do increase visibility, at night. It is a bit like the way that cyclists have five times less head injuries/hr (in fact about the same number as pedestrians 1-2% of all serious head injuries) than four wheeler occupiers (5% of all head injuries), but car occupiers don't (normally) wear helmets, but seem to think cyclists should. If you are really concerned about your safety. always wear an approved helmet when taking a bath or shower, as this is the single place where the most head injuries occur (about 9%, UK figures. Usually about the same as US on these things.). You really gotta watch out for those who make heaps of money from so called "safety gear" by cashing in your paranoia :-) @@TheMissendenFlyer
Great review, seems like pretty good value for what you get, glad to see it has CE rated armor padding included. I also use a Knox mesh shirt with back & chest protectors, guess that could also be used with this jacket as well. Not having to faff with rain jackets is a great bonus. Cheers TMF :-)
TMF Always great to get feedback of kit. A quick question though. On the Norway wet ride you've got your gloves under the sleeves, I assume water ran up the jacket, did not have spare gauntlet gloves?
Thank you for the review. I find it useful as you ve tested it yourself for quite some time. It is so much more than any promotional material. I ve got one remark though: 22 C is not at all hot weather :) I am especially concerned about laminated suit performance in higher temperatures such as 30-35 C. For colder months and rainy days it seems to be doing its job. You ve mentioned that you ve been using this kit in Spain as well. How was it performing over there?
Very good - the ventilation on the the kit is also excellent (BTW in Norway and Germany I wore this in temperatures up to 30 degrees C - it was hot, but doable...)
Great review! Really contemplating one now seeing as my D-dry jacket is barely waterproof. Is it the kind of waterproof material that would get less waterproof over time like many others though?
I wish this video was put out 6 months ago when I was purchasing my current “kit”. I don’t think the mrs would go for me getting another set.....maybe next summer I will give it a try😏
Your timing is perfect (or is it really my timing?) I just purchased the Merlin Horizon 3 in 1 jacket and pants on Black Friday sale here in the States. Who knew I didn't need 3 different layers? My Aerostitch suit is 11 years old and still going strong but it is not waterproof, as I've found out on quite a few occasions. Well, might have to wait another decade to jump into today's tech. Story of my life. ;)
TMF firstly let me say I love your channel, keep up the sterling work. 😎 However I purchased the Mondial suit just over a month ago and it's now leaking in the seat area. The dealer (Infinity) are going to send the suit back to oxford under warranty but the staff informed me they have had quite a few suits returned for leaking. Hopefully the new suit will be "as advertised" waterproof. 🤞🤞🤞
Love the reluctant assistant. Embarrassing your teenager is one of life's few pleasures. Next time you are in Bahnstormer check out the Enduroguard suit. Absolutely love my jacket, like putting on a super comfortable all weather suit of armour. Rrp is scary but they can be obtained at less than half that.
I've always work Rukka as it's the best all wether gear in my mind. This though has really made me think about my next purchase. Just over a third the price sounds amazing.
Can I just check if the suit is still holding up well? I bought a premium Italian brand about 12 years ago and can't get the waterproofing to hold even though it's gore-tex. I know they eventually fail but I don't think it ever really lasted long anyway. Hate carrying waterproof over suits. Keen to know how it's still going?
Seen you wearing this a few times and at last I’m now gonna get one. Can I ask, are they doing away with this one and bringing out a newer one as most places are discontinuing them. Which back protector would you recommend also on a budget lol
ordered one of these at motorcycle live yesterday show price £400. I wanted to ask you Mr Flyer about the suit but you were busy talking at your hub, anyway you made a video thankyou
I was waiting to see a review for Oxfords laminated stuff, I just put down a bit more for the Dainese cyclone kit which is Gore-Tex laminate, my old Gore-Tex suit was used for about 3 years commuting daily and never leaked and is still usable but not laminated (Also the cyclone jacket has optional chest armour which is a big plus IMO). Another perk of laminated suits is that they dry a lot quicker than liners variations. I'm guessing the set zips together?
Good test flyer. Oxford are normally associated with the budget end of the market and I have not been impressed with their products in the past but you seem to have found something of theirs that works,
Good, they have probably moved on from the various items I have owned. Still wouldn't buy their clothing/boots unless recommended by others like yourself.

Do you remember if there is a mesh lining in the pieces after you remove the thermal layer?
Yep good point.....
Aldi...?
@@hyperthunk brand snob?.....
@@bazerwazer6180 no, I just didn't know you could buy bike gear there. I thought it was just a supermarket - my local never has clothing on sale.
Nicely done TMF. I like the understated look too.
Yeah me too...not too Charley and Ewan....and limited Oxford branding.
Impressive kit that you have certainly tested thoroughly; one to consider when replacing my current textile suit👍
Love the bit at the end, tmf is a real clean freak. Like this product, as I am an all year rider.
Exactly Rob....you're a Rukka man aren't you?
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes, I have been for the last 3 yrs. Before that I used a Hein Gerrick laminated suit for ages until the lining became threadbear on both the jacket and the trousers. However I still use it during the summer as the Rukka suit is a bit thick for summer and doesn't have the ventilation. I've gotta say, I like the look of this Oxford suit, and for the price, it's a winner.
Excellent in depth review. Thanks Andy.
Very welcome
i have a problem with the knee protection moving to side of my leg is there a fix for this does any one know tia
Chop off your leg? Just an idea.....
Good point!
I wear the Oxford mondial jacket and trousers too. Super comfy in all conditions, great price. The Oxford back protector is only £25 online. (Absolute must in my opinion). Just great kit….
Had to slightly trim the hip armour on the trousers as it was tucking under onto my GS saddle. Super comfy now though…
The way the Oxford back protectors fit into their jackets is garbage though. Give me a pocket to put them in anyday.
We done the the NC500 wild rain when we crossed the top of Scotland at 60mph for 8 hrs Dianese, alpinestar everyone was soaked through, now carry a one piece over suit to go over my dianese waterproof gear!
Goretex Pro is the key!
@@TheMissendenFlyer thanks, your videos are keeping me going, of work with man flu luckily nothing more serious. Keep up the good work
It's incredibly light compared to the RST (which I had before this) - I loved it, but this is better in my view....
@@TheMissendenFlyer Matches the GS as well :)
Hi TMF my wife and her mom are thinking about geting me suit how is it after two years now thanks Mick
Still going strong!
A thorough review as always TMF and you're suffering for your art at the end there! Great work 👍🏻
One tries.....
Thumbs up for the awesome assistant work.
Thanks 👍
What gloves do you wear with this setup and how do you stop water ingressing via your neck, I’m down in Cornwall and ride everyday, sometimes long rides and I cannot seem to stop the water increasing via my neck and my gloves even though they say waterproof are always like lead weights. Thank you for your excellent videos.
Been looking at this jacket for the last two years ‘umming and ahing’ as to whether I buy it or not. Recently reduced from £250 to £168 so had no reason not to get it. So far just as you described. Many thanks.
Nice one - great value at that price!
Do's the water bead of the the material or make it a tad heavy ? Great video as ever 👍
I may have to look into getting into some of these, Flyer! Great video as always.
@@TheMissendenFlyer one last question my good man. Over 30 degrees on Norway, how was the trouser cooling?
Brilliant review, thanks TMF I've had 2 laminated jackets now, wouldn't go back! I'm curious about the puffer jacket instead of the liner do you have a preference as to which one. I'd be interested to know which you use..
Just a cheapo e-bay one....
Agree about using a bonded textile suit. I've use a badlands klim suit and it's so good not to have to worry about carrying extra liners. Bit more expensive than this Oxford setup (🙄) but it's good to know that more manufacturers are now offering the same at cheaper price points.
The Klim is a nice looking top and I'm sure it's worth every penny. But, it's $1,000. This top looks to be available on Amazon for under $200.
Thanks for the advice TMF my wife is sold on the jacket! Safe riding!
Andy, I can’t believe it……I’m turning into you! I bought a GS recently; turns out that it’s identical to your red one. Then, without seeing this review, I bought some new textiles…..guess which? And in which colour? 😂. Keep up the good work!
Clearly a man of great taste...
Great review. Thanks TMF. Will definitely consider this kit when the time comes.
That last demonstration was excellent, especially after reading Captain Average's comment 😂
Well said , excellent value . Why people spend well over £2000 for Klim jacket ( which leak by all accounts) and trousers is beyond me !.
It sheds water in the same way Goretex does…
I bought this for my first riding suit, and it’s done the job, but after owning it for less than two years, I just rode about 80 miles in horrible British weather and the trousers are not waterproof.
Thanks
I do yes....maybe not what you're supposed to do.....
Also the way those vent flaps look, I feel like riding high speed in torrential rain, water would ingress past the velcro and thru the mesh (unless there is the laminate behind the velcro vent)?
I haven’t had an issue....
Great review, I was pondering what to replace my ancient, but brilliant Hein Gereke stuff with, but felt reluctant to spend one million pounds on the newly fashionable adventure kit. 👍
Thanks for the review. Question, Why didn't you open your hand guards, for more air flow, in Norway
when it was so warm and can you do a review of your heated gloves? Cheers
looks a good piece of kit at a very good price .I have KLIM BADLANDS JACKET AND TROUSERS for just under 5 years trousers leaked after 4years just sent them back replaced seams good as new now just wondering what guarantee u got with these OXFORD JACKETS AND TROUSERS GREAT REVIEW
Hi, what tank bag were you using on your GS in this video thanks.......oh yeah you rode past my house in the later part of video
i recently purchased the oxford copenhagen jacket and rp2 gloves, very very impressed by them and there not silly expensive like most are!!
Can you open and close the front vent flaps while riding, without pulling over, and wearing gloves?
Hi Andy
Took your advice and bought the new improved version of this suit and well impressed with it. I’d suggest to others to go one size up on the trousers as they seem to be a snug fit....or am I just getting fatter with this current lockdown 😳
Cheers
Brian
I bought one of these recently and on the first day of wearing it was tested in thirty miles of torrential rain. In itself it was waterproof, but despite being on an adventure bike, (so behind a screen) cold water found its way down the low neck of the jacket, bypassing all that clever laminated material. The other area where I was a little disappointed is the size of the (optional) back protector. It is 10 cms shorter than the back protector in my previous jacket and only protects the upper half of the spine. On the plus side it costs less than £200 and doesn't wet out like my previous jacket!
So overall decent value for money or not??
@@TheMissendenFlyer Certainly decent value for the money so long as it lasts for a couple of years!
Well that's my new suit sorted, thank you!
Love the idea of an adjustable neck closure instead of b****y Velcro!!
You really gotta watch out for those who make heaps of money from so called "safety gear" by cashing in your paranoia :-)
@@TheMissendenFlyer
Bet your daughter enjoyed that, can we all come round and have a go.
Thats great value, I like Oxford kit was well pleased with their 'Hardy' jacket.
Yes I have to say that and this are some of the best bike kit I've used - they don't pay me to say good stuff about them by the way!
I didn't have any spare gloves unfortunately....didn't notice the rain running up my sleeves (but it was warm that day)....
Great review, very informative as always. Great channel keep up the good work.
Great review! Really contemplating one now seeing as my D-dry jacket is barely waterproof. Is it the kind of waterproof material that would get less waterproof over time like many others though?
So far mine hasn't!
Great in-depth review does the jacket and trousers zip together and it looks great nice price as Well thanks Tony
They do indeed....
I wish this video was put out 6 months ago when I was purchasing my current “kit”. I don’t think the mrs would go for me getting another set.....maybe next summer I will give it a try😏
“The Stig” flash back during the hose bit.
Great video, thanks TMF. Anything to consider after washing? Does it require impragnation afterwards or is it waterproof "for lifetime"? Cheers Tim
... and it seems to be sold out already..! ;)
I was a little premature posting my video - they should have stock soon....
However I purchased the Mondial suit just over a month ago and it's now leaking in the seat area. The dealer (Infinity) are going to send the suit back to oxford under warranty but the staff informed me they have had quite a few suits returned for leaking. Hopefully the new suit will be "as advertised" waterproof. 🤞🤞🤞
Oh dear, sorry to hear that, mine never let me down for the period I used it as my prime kit.....
Great review, what is it like to keep clean.
It seems pretty good - how clean does the jacket look in the review? I've never washed it and I've been using it for 6 months!
Love the reluctant assistant. Embarrassing your teenager is one of life's few pleasures.
Next time you are in Bahnstormer check out the Enduroguard suit.
Absolutely love my jacket, like putting on a super comfortable all weather suit of armour. Rrp is scary but they can be obtained at less than half that.
...in fact she volunteered!
I've always work Rukka as it's the best all wether gear in my mind. This though has really made me think about my next purchase. Just over a third the price sounds amazing.
Exactly my point!
Gary Taylor got to agree Rukka (and Klim) is the best. You get what you pay for.
My Rukka always kept me wet...
@@janra8653 mines bullet proof never let's a drop in. While mates are hoping into wet I sit with smile on face.
I still have it but haven't worn it in anger for around two years.....
Seen you wearing this a few times and at last I’m now gonna get one. Can I ask, are they doing away with this one and bringing out a newer one as most places are discontinuing them.
Which back protector would you recommend also on a budget lol
I don't know I'm afraid....still a great bit of kit even if they are discontinuing!
@@TheMissendenFlyer yeh thanks for the reply, still going to search one out.

ordered one of these at motorcycle live yesterday show price £400. I wanted to ask you Mr Flyer about the suit but you were busy talking at your hub, anyway you made a video thankyou
Sorry I missed you - very busy day yesterday!
I'm guessing the set zips together?
...correct....
Good test flyer. Oxford are normally associated with the budget end of the market and I have not been impressed with their products in the past but you seem to have found something of theirs that works,
Well I've been impressed with this and my Hardy wax jacket I must say - two bits of kit I wouldn't be without....
Good, they have probably moved on from the various items I have owned. Still wouldn't buy their clothing/boots unless recommended by others like yourself.
