2 be honest and 100% honest, never even asked him to cast this game at all. Casters has the Free will to cast games. I love drongo and his cast, and i do support his work with my account is being open. Every day i pray to aoe gods for bigger community and casters help a lot with yt videos.
@@Corvinus1 What he means is that in some games it seems like you pros do some weird strategies in case Drongo is casting to screw around. Kind of like Drongo saying "and now Szalami should go with this" and you do the exact opposite, leaving Drongo to some amusing reactions.
"Now is the winter of our discontent" is from Shakespeare's Richard III, it technically means times are good and everyone should be happy (discontent is minimal) but it's more often used to mean the exact opposite.
This is the build I've been playing for the past two weeks (after watching Szalami). Now all of a sudden I can't lose against HRE, China and Abbasid - basically all of the civs that don't typically pressure you early game. (I still struggle against English and Ottoman.) The key is you need to start transitioning from musofadi warriors to archers once you see archers, zhuge nu, landsknechts, etc. Since your archers have poison arrows and you can crank them out 5 at a time you can quickly put together a very strong army. The other key part of this build is that you need a blacksmith to get the military production speed bonus, which has a huge impact on the Malians landmark (+33% more units) and you should pick up relics. I've found I typically have lots of map control and tons of gold so if I haven't won already I then can transition to cows and Sofas. If a civ is going to play aggressive and deny your gold early (Ottomans, eg) then it's almost impossible to make this build work and you'll have to probably try to fight it out in feudal.
15:35 Hi Drongo, great cast as usual! Just to give you the trivia: the full quote is “Now is the winter of our discontent made glorious summer…” The quote is the first line from a speech by Richard III in William Shakespeare’s play of the same name. Cheers!
Answering Aussies question: "Now is the winter of our discontent, Made glorious summer by this son of York" is the beginning lines of Shakespeare's play Richard III. "The winter of our discontent" is referring to a troubled time in his family's past during some civil wars.
I love playing Malian, and typically I will putt 5/6 of my starting vils on food and the 1 to go build houses around the nearest gold, while my outcoming vils chop wood. Eventually I’ll have enough wood to build the pit mine, and then I focus strongly on wood and food, while having that passive income of gold, with no vils on it. Once I’m feudal, I can focus on getting anti-armor or anti-cavalry or anti-range and then entend toward enemy bases and try to pick off enemy vils. Now this strat works against most civs except I’ve noticed rus, as you won’t have much gold to get a lot of upgrades, so if you’re against rus, definitely do this and focus on gold more once in feudal because they have those real strong early wooden walls. But otherwise, I’m a plat player Omw to conqueror hopefully 😂
Seeing HRE going for a second tc in fudal. Me: "Well if he loses, he will lose because of that." Sees Mali hitting castle befor HRE. Me: "Well, he can still age up in time and grab some relics." Mali gets 4/5 relics, HRE went up with Regnitz: "RiP HRE." HRE goes for a semi fast imp with Swabia, Mali makes a timing push: "Nothing more to say about that."
What's the deal with Puppypaw ? Drongo seems to like him/bring him up a lot, but I've only been following AoE2 and 4 competitive since the most recent RB Wololo and he got absolutely mangled 3-0 by MarineLord there, it looked like he was a solid 2 tier below Mlord as a player, it was not a competitive match in the slightest, so is he some type of onliner ? Or did he just shit the bed at wololo ? Genuinely curious
Different, szalami does it for fun I guess ( and for crazy nicknames ) but beasty for example does it because if he plays on the beasty account people will dodge him
Damn every time szalami plays Malians it’s eyeopening
HRE getting reverse HRE ed
I bet all these players go like "Drongo might cast this, let's do something weird so he says something and in an instant contradicts himself" lol

@@Corvinus1 the wololo god answered me! I`m just joking around Szalami, I love the gameplay of all of you and of course the casting!

14:42 The question is... how does puppypaw lose this?
17:14 And this is looking terrible right now for the Holy Roman Empire
17:44 He ded
jaja what a turn of events

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the names 'Blow these Nutz' and 'Big Noob'?

Love the content. I’m a huge scrub but these videos are very instructive and entertaining. Please keep it up.
Szalami just has such a unique play style, he does very unconventional things that his opponent would never think he would actually go for
lol the moment puppy went for imperial szalami was like: MEATS BACK ON THE MENU BOIS *casually drops castle on the frontline*
Okay Gerix, you have no excuses to get a win now.
I LOVE THE OVERLAY OMG

The opening of this game is very similar to the Viper Demu game we just saw recently

yeah regnitz is a little too feast or famine imo. going for it and not getting relics makes it almost useless
Not gonna lie... that was a Malian clinic
Say the God damned words Drongo...deez nutz
Doesn't poisoned arrows have a bug? its working just fine? Good to know.
its suppose to stack infinitely but it only stacks up to 8. so the damage is capped when it shouldn't be
team szalami malians

that was a great game
That game was wierd
Whats the purpose in these highly skilled guys making alternate accounts? Or smurf accounts
Different, szalami does it for fun I guess ( and for crazy nicknames ) but beasty for example does it because if he plays on the beasty account people will dodge him
This I my main account
they also just change names often (not changing account)
szalamians
#94 👍
HRE is prrety much C tier by now, big nerf this patch.
Nah just don't go 2TC. You don't need it with prelate eco buffs. Just fast castle into relics then fast imp, then siege with MAA and crossbows
hell no
Many pros like 2TC
