Hi, We're staying here as I type this...largely based upon your recommendation in this video. Level is indeed a great place...great rooms/apartments (more like apartments as you noted) wonderful location and a terrific staff that has a "Can do" attitude to every request! Thanks for the great video you made on this fantastic property!! Oh, one more thing to anyone reading this: if you haven't been to Downtown Los Angeles in the last 10 years...please forget the "Old Downtown L.A." Downtown L.A. of 2019 is safe (in fact, according to the L.A.P.D. Central Division, Central Division is the Police Station that handles Downtown L.A. is THE SAFEST in Los Angeles!) Additionally, there are upscale people on the streets late into the evenings (and of course during the day as over 500,000 business people work in the office buildings, etc) great restaurants...in just two blocks from "Level" are numerous restaurants from fine dining, Sushi/Japanese, Irish Pubs, etc.) I was born and raised on the Westside of L.A. and when we would travel downtown to go to the L.A. Philharmonic or to see a Broadway show, the area was like a ghost town...this is NO LONGER the case! Downtown is great!!!
See, wasn't I right about everything? I agree it's a very cool place to stay. Make sure you try the French bakery around the corner. Thanks for watching!
@@FreddySherman Absolutely! You were right...you indeed made an awesome discovery, Fred...thanks! I saw the bakery last night...we will be sure to stop in there and try it out!
What exactly do you mean by "upscale people?" I've been working in the business district, or Bunker Hill, for 15 years. It's very bold to claim that DTLA is the safest area in LA. Yes, the area has improved drastically but I hope people don't forget skud row where it is hone to the largest homeless population in the US. Almost on a daily basis I witnessed police picking up innocent homeless people. Where did they drop them off? At skid row. Why? I guess they weren't "upscale" enough to walk the streets of bunker hill. They are harmless, and are just trying to survive against the broke system. Believe it or not many of them use to own homes. I just found your comment a little ignorant and I truly am curious to what you mean by "upscale people."
What an awesome find, Fred. You know that if I'm staying somewhere more than 1 or 2 nights, I love a rental apartment. I went to a concert at the Orpheum a couple of years ago and stayed at a small boutique hotel about a block from the theater which was great. But for a longer stay this is the place, at a reasonable price! Hans was a naughty boy, escaping from the room. How cool that the staff corralled him, brought him back to your apt and stayed til you got home. Outstanding service! Oh , and love the balcony! Thanks a million, Fred!
I really, really enjoyed staying there. We've been there about three times for long weekends. The units are really nice and the area is fun. Thanks for watching the video, please subscribe to my channel!
Hi, love the video! I was looking to stay there for about 2 nights and wanted to get a room similar to yours. What was the name of your room exactly if I were to try and book the same space? Thanks
Hello once again, im looking for hotels! I have just a few questions aha. 1) Was the washer stocked with supplies you needed? 2) Did you have to go out and buy/make your own food? 3) Could one person sleep on the ground in the bedroom,. 4) How many people could stay in one room based on the hotel rules. 5) How good is staff? 6) How far is it away from the L.A convention center.
Thanks for watching, this is a great choice. 1. Yes, it comes with soap and all the stuff you need for washer and dishwasher. 2. Yes, they have no food service so you cook yourself or order delivery. There are many restaurants within a few blocks so you can use Uber Eats or another delivery service to get whatever you want. 3. Once you're inside, you can do whatever you want, people can sleep whereever you want. 4. Check the website for their occupancy rules, I think it's 4 people in a one bedroom and 6 in a two bedroom. When I stayed there, they were pretty cool about parties so more people can visit you. 5. Staff was excellent, like at a luxury hotel. They are on-point as they also have to deal with the wealthy residents who live there full-time. Once when we stayed there our dog escaped, they captured him and stayed with him until we returned. 6. It's about a 20 minute walk from the convention center or a 5 minute drive. Thanks for watching the video and please subscribe to my channel!
Like a one-day pass to use the court and the facilities? No, that stuff is only available to the residents who live there and the people who stay there as hotel guests. If you knew someone who lived there or was staying there, then you could come as their guest. THanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel!
Great video, Fred. This place looks great to me. I do a lot of business in Downtown L.A. and honestly I never feel like I'm getting what I'm paying for. LEVEL looks very good for someone like me...I don't require pool attendants or room service, but what I do require is a luxurious homelike atmosphere that is safe, clean, and well-located. Who is coughing at the 4:47 time mark in the video? It sounds like she has smokers cough...that's a shame to hear that. :(
Thanks for watching and for your comment. You need to try it, so much better than a tiny hotel room. And with Postmates and Uber Eats, that's just like room service. I think it might have been 4:20, so that's why they were coughing!
Any issues staying there? I’ve have an upcoming reservation but I’ve been seeing a lot of negative reviews and on IG I’ve seen ppl having parties and heard complaints of weed smoking.
Hey there. Yes, there is a lot of that. Even on the website, at least when we stayed there, it said they allowed parties and we had a small birthday party. The weed smoke would be from inconsiderate / rude guests or residents. Remember it's an apartment building too. It has a young, hip, urban vibe so it's popular with a lot of rappers and even NBA players. Within the units, it's not an issue, so you wouldn't smell weed smoke in your unit but maybe in the lobby or elevator. Thanks for watching the video and please subscribe to my channel!
Nice Fred thank you for this video !!! How much you think a 1 bed 1 bath would run me ? Been trying to move out but having to proof income is what’s holding me back , so I plan on staying at a hotel/Airbnb for a month working to provide income and then hopefully I can get my own apartment for 6-12 month.
Thanks for watching the video. I believe a one bedroom starts around $3,000 a month. Maybe a little more, maybe even a little less. I believe the rental market in LA has dropped down a little bit, they used to go for almost $4,000 per month. Thank you very much for watching and good luck, it is a very cool building and worth the money (during normal times when all the amenities are open).
They don't really call them different names, they go by the number of bedrooms and whether it's on a high floor with a view (like this unit). So this would be a two-bedroom, corner unit on a high floor, which would have a higher price than one on a lower floor without a view. I really enjoyed the experience, it was more like an AirBnB with a check-in desk. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel!
@@lgiver5148 This was a few years ago and I can't remember but I think they did not at that time. I would think they do now. The elevators are right in front of the security desk so they would make sure people were authorized.
I doubt that. There are many cameras all over that lobby. If you left something at the desk, they can watch the cameras to see who picked it up. The staff handles very expensive deliveries and items every day, they are not going to lose their job over some $300 headphones. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to my channel!
Thanks for watching. It's not really officially a hotel, it's a luxury apartment building. It's called LEVEL LA. Here is the website: stayinglevel.com/los-angeles/
@@FreddySherman Some of reviews are complaining that folks are getting evicted for having guests over; I know you're not management, but I'm trying to reconcile the sheer number of bad reviews with the great experience you've documented here. Help, LOL! I'm very close to booking but I'm stopped by the reviews on yelp, google, etc. They're either extremely bad or great.
@@3hooks781 The rules about guests and parties may have changed since I visited a few years ago. At that time, they welcomed parties and even suggested that on the website. With that said, it did create too much of a party atmosphere and you can imagine it wasn't cool for regular residents. Cool video, is this close to USC, would it be a good place to live for a student?
Yes, a lot of rich students live there. It is a very long walk or a short bike ride from the campus. This is in DTLA, USC is a bit south of that area.
