    I have the previous generation, the Franchi Affinity. I absolutely love it. I've put everything through it from light trap loads to heavy duck and turkey loads and it eats everything flawlessly. I probably have about 5,000 rounds through it at this point and it's still my go to gun.

    Is this the 12 or 20 gauge? I just got the 20 gauge for my son and we’re having a horrible time loading rounds past the carrier latch of the magazine. It’s so bad he can’t even load it himself and it kills your thumb! Just curious if other owners have had the same issue when breaking it in. Hoping it gets easier because we love the gun. Thanks!

    • @undercoveroverwater8413
      @undercoveroverwater8413  5 років тому

      cole merrill Hey cole yes this is a known “issue” with the 20 gauge. When I was doing research on the 12 gauge I can remember reading a lot of comments on the 20 gauge being hard to load. From what I have read, it will get easier as more shells are shot through it. The 12 gauge was a little stiff at first as well but it has loosened up for me.

    • @colemerrill4077
      @colemerrill4077 5 років тому +1

      UnderCoverOverWater thanks for your help! I’ve read that the 12G doesn’t really have this issue as much as the 20. Really wish I would’ve know this and I would’ve just got him the 12G. The compact option is what really sold us as he’s only 13. It’s a awesome gun minus this major issue that I think could easily be addressed by franchi. Thanks again!

    • @undercoveroverwater8413
      @undercoveroverwater8413  5 років тому

      cole merrill I know that must be frustrating. I would take a weekend and go shoot a lot of cheap lead shot through it or just sit in your garage and load/unload it. I have heard that if you remove the carrier latch and barely bend it slightly that it also help with the issue. Once it gets broke in, it will get even better. Good luck!

As for the choke set up, I think I’d personally bump it down to a modified just bc I’m not the sharpest shooter out there. • @undercoveroverwater8413
      @undercoveroverwater8413  5 років тому

      Case Hutchinson Hey Case, that is the Carlson Cremator Long Range(LR). Our Franchi Guns run all Benelli Mobil Choke Tubes. Just check the package of whatever choke you are looking at and see if it says it’s compatible with Benelli Mobil. Like I said in the video, this gun is very identical to a Benelli. I’m a big waterfowler so that particular choke is what I prefer. It patterns straight and true. I got it so I could reach out a little further since I have the 26” barrel. It’s the extended version as well.
      I’d also like to add that the long range is the extended Full choke. A helpful tip: you can shoot lead through a full choke that is designed for steel but you cannot shoot steel through a full choke that is designed for lead. Steel will not give much while lead has a little bit of play. It’s a softer metal. There will be info about this on any choke tube you buy though.

      @@robinsquires5621 it’s holding up relatively well. The only wear marks it shows is on the stock under the trigger assembly from where I lay it across the top of my metal pit blind. I keep it in a bag to and from hunting and on the 4wheeler/boat but honestly one of the main reasons I went to a synthetic stock is so I wouldn’t feel as bad if I got scratches on it. I used to hunt with a Woodstock browning gold and I couldn’t even enjoy hunting with it because I was worried about scratching it up. The affinity is durable, yet I’m not going to feel sick to my stomach if it falls over and gets a scratch.
