I always preferred the pre-Davros era stories as the Daleks seem more intelligent and cunning and even unhinged. With Davros they often feel more like they are merciless machines without emotions. But before Daleks expressed fear, cunning, pride, wrath and envy. They were more robust characters. New who sort of brought that back between the Dalek to the end of the Cult arc. Like part of the Dalek imperative is to conquer, and what they can't conquer they destroy. But they now often seem more like they imminently move towards destroy and completely forget the conquest part.
Shortly after I’d first listened to Evil of the Daleks I was in a supermarket. A woman was shopping with her son and daughter. The children kicked off, and the mother ordered, “Do not fight in here!” I thought, she’s the emperor Dalek!
There’s a part in _The Dalek Invasion of Earth_ where a Dalek can be heard saying ‘the final solution’ in reference to killing human slave workers. Combined with the labour camp imagery, the way that the robomen are similar to sonderkommandos (individuals forced to work for the murderers of their people), the occupation imagery, and the way the Daleks keep extending their plungers upwards, TDIoE arguably has even more overt Nazi imagery than _Genesis of the Daleks_ (which had SS uniforms and Himmler!)
My favourite (if I can call it that?) 60s Dalek line is from the first Dalek story (been a while, so I'm probably paraphrasing)... After the Daleks explain their plans for Skaro... The Doctor: This is nothing less than murder. Dalek: No. Extermination.
These are all very good ones Dalek bumps, the 60s Daleks had some of the most iconic Dalek lines imo. Thank you for sharing these amazing Dalek lines. I do think you missed a couple though such as “We are not ready yet to teach these Hu-man Be-ings the law of the Da-leks!” “There is on-ly one form of life that matters, Da-lek life.” “Do not Question! You are in our power!” “One Da-lek is capable of Exterminating all!!” Very good video nonetheless. Xx
Interesting that the Daleks' language choice in the early episodes differs. Now they use very formal authoratative language like "halt" vs earlier "stop" which has less power to it. And they don't yell so much. The way they chant in repeat like it's a motivational phrase.
Notice how slow the Dalek voices are in The Chase. It sounds like they don't quite know how they're supposed to be saying their lines. Yet by the Dalek Masterplan the voices are finely tuned up and sound really threatening.
I like the bit where the doctor speaks about the people of the earth as one, but the Dalek replies it has heard similar words from “the leaders of your other races”. It shows that while the Doctor sees the humans as one joined species, the hateful and divisive Daleks see only what is different between us.
That's another good one, I couldn't add that one to this video because of UA-cam's copyright checker flagging it, but I've added a link to that clip in the description
Now do dalek quotes from the expanded media such as the movies, big finish and the animations (DALEKS! etc). And if you do you have to include the overseer
You know the rules and so do I. A full commitment’s what I’m thinking of, You wouldnt get this from any other guy. I just wanna tell you how I’m feeling, Gotta make you understand… Never gonna give you up, Never gonna let you down, Never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry, Never gonna say goodbye, Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you. We’ve known each other for so long Your heart’s been aching But you’re too shy to say it. Inside we both know what’s been going on, We know the game and we’re gonna play it. I'm currently working on the '70s video next but the '80s one will come out not long after that one. I have the '70s one ready to go but UA-cam's copyright system is acting up and I'm going to have to cut some of the scenes down, so we'll see how that goes. After that it's onto the '80s clips, I'm planning on using the version of Revelation of the Daleks with the new effects and voices
Dalek: "Why do human beings kill other human beings?"
Dalek Supreme (Planet of the Daleks): blows up any dalek that annoys him
Even among the Daleks, rank has its privileges!
I hadn't noticed before how much 'we are the masters of earth' sounds like the dalek is trying to reassure itself
A lot of Dalek dialogue sounds like some radical political cult chanting to themselves.
It's like a Freudian joke: if Daleks are the masters of Earth, why do they have to SAY they are the masters of Earth?
The novelization makes it seem more like an act of pettiness for the Doctor not complying
Almost as if all bullies, psychopaths and narcissists are inherently insecure?

Classic Daleks were at their best under David Whitaker.
"Eve of the Daleks" does a good job of combining both!
i'm not sure if i would say a good job but there we are@@spiralx6249
Totally agree.
"Do not fight in here!
The emperor talking to the Daleks like an annoyed parent 😅
Shortly after I’d first listened to Evil of the Daleks I was in a supermarket. A woman was shopping with her son and daughter. The children kicked off, and the mother ordered, “Do not fight in here!” I thought, she’s the emperor Dalek!
@@paulbeardsley4095 "The little...Daleks!"
@@SamuelBlack84 Love it!
Dalek detention for all of you!
Daleks don't have a naughty step.
the lack of any sort of music makes the daleks more eery yet leaves you with awkward silences in between lines xD

Here's one.
"You will not feed the flying pests outside!"

After the Daleks explain their plans for Skaro...
The Doctor: This is nothing less than murder.
Dalek: No. Extermination.
It was not called execution
It was called retirement

There were a few lines that I couldn't include because of UA-cam's weird copyright checker, but I've added links to those clips in the description :)
2:34 blub has that lego star wars death sound
Lmao

Weird how in their very first story the voices changed.
Love how the Dalek Emperor was ordering his soldiers to obey him. Which lead to his downfall.
Notice how slow the Dalek voices are in The Chase. It sounds like they don't quite know how they're supposed to be saying their lines. Yet by the Dalek Masterplan the voices are finely tuned up and sound really threatening.
I'm so glad you had no 6- the sarcasm of the daleks!

Really good Bumps!
♥ you reduced the transition sounds
The last one is interesting, given that Daleks kill Daleks, if they are not deemed to be pure.
Ah- but what about- "only one form of life matters- Dalek life" from the 2nd part of the Evil of the Daleks
That's another good one, I couldn't add that one to this video because of UA-cam's copyright checker flagging it, but I've added a link to that clip in the description

I plan on doing a Big Finish video once I've published my '70s and '80s best Dalek lines compilations, stay tuned!
Awesome
You should make a video on youtuber joe Vever's The Bugger Anthology playlist.
You are wearing flares! You cannot conquer the world with Disco Fever!

Never gonna make you cry,

And now imagine how Dalek Rick sings it.
I hid behind the sofa.
Two things are missing:
1. But I gave you LIFE!
2. The Dalek from The Chase who can't count
Whaaa but i watch this like 2 hours ago ?
Edit : nvm i just read the description :)
U should do the 80s next
