OMG I cant wait to see more!! Hunter must be so excited, such a dream come true to order a full sculpt off one of his character from the might KreatureKid! ❤ It'll be grotesque, detailed and lifelike as he strives for his art to be! ❤❤❤
Can’t wait for the next video! Gunna start sketching ideas and try my best with your process! I wish I had access to this content when I was a kid! -my kids will!!
@@KreatureKid I can imagine it takes so long… but I’d be happy with a basic live just watching you work … As this stuff either seemed impossible or done in some kinda 3d software… I really love the hands on practical approach! With amazing results …I’ve had lots of failures but learned allot … and my resin mold is great… but just need to get a good cast
I’m curious why you are going to use the wet clay instead of an oil based? Besides how much fun it is lol. I have actually sculpted with it before. Many years ago I worked some freelance jobs for a big company that sold pieces to the furniture industry. I did some stand alone pieces in an Art Deco style of a few leopards, a giraffe and some birds about 2 to 3 feet tall but I do t remuneration what I used for an armature for them. I don’t think I used anything except on the giraffe but I did this huge 5x5 for bad relief of 2 horse with a riders in the style of the Greek Parthenon reliefs..that was the most fun! I had a big piece of plywood but we had to attach it to a hydraulic lift because it was so heavy it would be hard to move later. I put chicken worse on it and I think we shellacked the board me and another artist who worked there would throw big hunks of clay as hard as we could at it lol..it was about 5 or 6 inches thick so it took us awhile but I loved working in that clay! I use magic sculpt and sculpting waxes or a mix of wax/clay now but I’d love to work in it again. So I wondered why you chose that clay for this piece?
Wed clay is about $25 for 50lbs, oil clay is very expensive, I also sculpt much slower in oil, I like the speed of wed and also that it is just nicer on the tools. It's my go to for any large scale project.
@@KreatureKid Ah wed clay lol, I always forget what its called. Yea you are right I didnt even think about price! I use monster clay too and that stuff is also pricy. Thats one thing I liked about it too is how fast you can work it. Im also kinda nit picky and slow. Im working on a really tiny piece right now with a hard type of sculpting wax that isn't made anymore ( so glad I bought some of it!) its funny how a piece that small ca take me months to do and a 5x5 bad relief takes me 2 weeks tops lol. Oh I'm very jealous of your studio too.. wish there were other sculptors around here I could share a large space with but I live very rurally.
