NEWCASTLE is known for its EPIC LGBT+ scene. We decided to embark on a boozy mission to find the absolute BEST LGBT+ bar in this legendary party town!
Join us for a tipsy 2-night bar crawl extravaganza as we explore all bars we could find, and maybe even down a few too many sweet sherries.

Me and my friends are going to Blackpool on Friday till Monday, none of us are gay but we always enjoy Garlands, good music a nice atmosphere and plenty of banter with the drag queens, looked like some nice bars on this video

a mate of mine came out 1992 im not gay myself but i went with him to newcastles gay scene as moral support had some great nights and i remember the original powerhouse which used to stand on waterloo street and there was rockshots next door i even remember the name of the drag queen dj was called megasal sadly passed away i loved his 80' hi-nrg megamixes

Hi Sanddancer! We remember The Powerhouse, too! And we love HiNRG. Tim remembers the first time he saw Linda Clifford in Top of the Pops and was blown away! Nowadays LGBT+ bars have a more mixed clientele but the atmosphere is just as good 👍❤️🌈

Thank you for your comment. We are very sorry that our review came across so negatively, that certainly wasn't our intention. We always try to support the LGBT+ community and we can only provide our personal opinion when giving a review.
But, you are correct, the music wasn't to our personal taste, and Tim should have made that clearer in the video. We don't expect to like every record played and, what we look for is a variety in music style.
Colin did say that he enjoyed your dancing and your drag, and the venue as a whole, so not entirely negative.
