To be frank, I was into figure skating because of Yuna. By the way, I am from Singapore. I must say her technical ability and her artistic way of expressing herself through skate really touched me. I wishes her all the best in her last season and hope she can end her career with no regret.
No one's writing her off because everyone who is not Korean did that last year, and look what happened? She won the World Championships with 20+ points lead. It's ridiculous how people expect Yuna to prove herself every time she skates. I mean, what's left to prove? She already won ogm, 2 wcs and she's still the current world record holder for sp, fs and combined total score. Heck, she hasn't left the podium yet. What more do you want from her?? Yuna's going to skate her last competitive programs. That's it. That's her current mindset going into the games, and nothing as serious as wanting another ogm. If she does well, then good results will just naturally follow.
Yuna Kim is a tough act to follow! A sheer talent and a person of character! I miss her so much. I miss the skater who opened my eyes to the real beauty of the sport. Whoever they proclaimed to be the winner in this 2014 Sochi Olympics was their winner but for the world and the entire universe, Yuna Kim definitely is the winner. No doubt about that! :D
this is a great program! It's an artistic and elegant tango. I've watched the full program she performed at the Korean competition over and over, and everytime I have tears in my eyes. Her performance is always great but this one especially just soooo touching. Piazzolla composed this song in memory of his father after his father's death. I think yuna gracefully expresses the music. She is just a fantastic skater and a person. Very strong, intelligent young woman. I'm sad that this is going to be her last competition program but I'm sure this will be one of the greatest programs of her.
Wow definitely looking good in here. After 2010 yes she didn't improve much in terms of difficulty, but her technique and skating skills are definitely much better. Her jumps are higher and smoother than before, and her edge placement is even more deep and sharp. Physically she seems more tired and heavier than before, but at that age, at that point, being able to pull this out is amazing. I can feel her emotions in here more than any other of the programme, perhaps it's because it is her final competitive programme, or because as the reigning Olympic champion she really has no pressure of forcing herself to do this. She is really enjoying herself in here. I hope with the mentality it will bring another personal highlight for her.
The overall quality of her skating is just unmatched. I should be rooting for skaters from my country but I will be solely behind Yuna. Her footwork, artistry, and the feeling she conveys complements the strength of her jumps. I hope to see her again in Pyeongchang 2018!

Based on your ID, I think you are Japanese. If you see the actual performance, you will be mesmerized. You just simply do not understand high level of performance with great musicality and expression.
For me the highlight is after she does the Ina Bauer till around 3:05. In such a short period of time the change of mood is so intensive and it really requires the skater to be dramatic enough to do so. I can't reli explain it but when she does the Ina Bauer, together with the music, I feel kind of emotional. It is very nostalgic, reminds me that this is really the end of her career. The only flaw in the programme is the spiral. It doesn't really come at the right place I think. She is more capable of performing that spiral at that note. Or I should say the spiral is not strong enough to "master over" that note. I know this is just a practice so the full programme is not shown so you may not know the other dance moves. But hopefully on the 20th her programme will give you a new impression :)

Not sure about Lip since she is a Russian skater and has home advantage. But don't even think about comparing Mao with Yuna. They are totally different level. Most of the Mao's jumps are not accurate at all while Yuna's jumps are considered as textbook jump.

I really really don't like choreography of Adios Nonino. There is no WOW elements she used to have at Toronto. Furthermore, her spins and movements are not sharp as before. I am a big fan of Yuna, but I can't hide myself feeling disappointed. I will not surprised if she doesn't get gold medal at Sochi.
if you're trully her fan you'd know there are many hard elements that only people who know figure skating knows. those who don't know figure skating argue that sotnikova deserves the medal because she had one more jump but those who know fgure skating all know that there are more to figure skating then jumps. evidence is all the olympic and world champions criticizing sotnikova.
she has never improved her skill since vancouver olympic. Her jump quality and speed is good, but she doesn't deserve to get a gold medal because her program component is much lower than Mao and other Russian skaters.
Figure skating is not 100% technical, you know. It's also artistic. Of course views in artistry is different for each judge so we'll never know what score Yuna will get when she skates. Yuna didn't go all out with her base value because she doesn't need to. She does what she can the best way possible they can be executed. And besides, she can't really push herself physically just to meet other people's standard. She just recovered from an injury, and it's no secret that she has back problems for as long as anyone could remember. I just find it funny that everyone's so hung up on the fact that she's a favorite to finish on podium. It's not her fault that she's being hyped as a medal contender. Blame the media. This season, Yuna has not mentioned, not even once, that she wanted Olympic gold. She has been constantly saying that she just wanted a good skate because this is her last Olympics, and that whatever the results will be, she'll leave the ice without any regret. Yes, that's just sheer class coming from Yuna.

Such lovely, purposeful simplicity in her movements - she checks off all of the boxes but it never looks cluttered or excessive.

Terrible, terrible music. She is an amazing skater, the best, but this music doesnt make her justice, she doesnt connect with the music. She should have done her old program, "Les Miserables" which was her masterpiece!!

솔직히 김연아 피겨인생 중 거의 점수 짜게받고 혼자 차별받았는데 그럼에도 선수생활 올 포디움임 얼마나 대단한지 세삼 느껴짐
근데 연습도 안하면서 주위에서 서성거리는 애들은 뭐냐??? 어차피 아무것도 못하면 나와서 기다리는게 예의 아니냐??? 존나 걸기적거리잖아
피겨 연습영상 보면 자기 차례 아닌 선수들은 항상 가장자리에서 돌면서 자리 비면 기술연습도 하고 하는 걸로 봐서 지극히 정상적으로 보이는데요. 그 시간 동안 내내 자리에 앉아 있으면 몸도 식고 연습 나온 의미가 없겠죠;

B Vanilla 연아선수도 다른 선수들 연습할 때 똑같이 가장자리 도는데요 뭐 ㅎㅎ 악감정으로 고의적으로 방해하는 게 아닌 이상 선수들이 잘 알아서 하리라고 생각해요. 프로들이니까요~

Not sure about Lip since she is a Russian skater and has home advantage. But don't even think about comparing Mao with Yuna. They are totally different level. Most of the Mao's jumps are not accurate at all while Yuna's jumps are considered as textbook jump.
haha〜 I look forward to watching competition XD you might be surprised! actually Mao's jumps are likely under rotated, but she now can do full rotated jumps constantly. this Olympic must be very exciting comp!

I really really don't like choreography of Adios Nonino. There is no WOW elements she used to have at Toronto. Furthermore, her spins and movements are not sharp as before. I am a big fan of Yuna, but I can't hide myself feeling disappointed. I will not surprised if she doesn't
get gold medal at Sochi.

if you're trully her fan you'd know there are many hard elements that only people who know figure skating knows. those who don't know figure skating argue that sotnikova deserves the medal because she had one more jump but those who know fgure skating all know that there are more to figure skating then jumps. evidence is all the olympic and world champions criticizing sotnikova.
she has never improved her skill since vancouver olympic. Her jump quality and speed is good, but she doesn't deserve to get a gold medal because her program component is much lower than Mao and other Russian skaters.
Figure skating is not 100% technical, you know. It's also artistic. Of course views in artistry is different for each judge so we'll never know what score Yuna will get when she skates.
Yuna didn't go all out with her base value because she doesn't need to. She does what she can the best way possible they can be executed. And besides, she can't really push herself physically just to meet other people's standard. She just recovered from an injury, and it's no secret that she has back problems for as long as anyone could remember.
I just find it funny that everyone's so hung up on the fact that she's a favorite to finish on podium. It's not her fault that she's being hyped as a medal contender. Blame the media. This season, Yuna has not mentioned, not even once, that she wanted Olympic gold. She has been constantly saying that she just wanted a good skate because this is her last Olympics, and that whatever the results will be, she'll leave the ice without any regret. Yes, that's just sheer class coming from Yuna.
