Whether it's your first time... or your fifth time... you just CAN'T miss Paris' world-class tourist traps. I mean, seriously, this city packs some of the finest punches of ANY city in the world. Even though I'm in the city for work - I can't miss my chance to check the boxes of almost all of my favorite spots in the city (with my mom and sister in tow) - AND... we did it all in 4 hours for a grand total of 0 euros. Lemme show you how...

You know Paris well! I'm French, I really like the Pompidou Centre, the outdoor lifts are great and the museum's collections are very beautiful. If you have time, I really like the boat ride on the Seine. You can see most of the monuments of Paris up close and quiet and discover their architecture!

The obelisk on the Place de la Concorde was offered as a sign of good understanding by Muhammad Ali, Viceroy of Egypt to Charles X and France, at the beginning of 1830. To give thanks, France offered a copper clock that now adorns the citadel of Cairo in 1845. Egypt had given two obelisks as gifts but only one arrived in France. President François Mitterrand officially announced on September 26, 1981 that France was definitively renouncing its possession of the second obelisk, which remained in place, thus returning its ownership to Egypt.

Is it worth going out of the airport and doing what you did here on a 7hr layover?

For sure! BUT - if you’re flying in/out of CDG… it takes about an hour and a half to get to/from the airport. So, you may want to do a bit shorter visit in the city to be sure you can comfortably make your connection.

I will have about 4 hrs in Paris in August. The Eurostar from London to arrive at 10:30am or so,then I need to be back at Gare Du Nord by 5pm for the 7:10pm departure. Will it work if I do a Big Bus tour?

This trip is 100% walking (no bus). We did take the metro back at the end of the night. Take a look at the map in the video for some detail. Learn a few phrases in French (hello, I would like…) to be respectful keep the French happy… but otherwise most folks should be able to speak English.
