ALL Banana's have seeds! The "Cavendish" variety that we eat from the Grocery Store is a domesticated variety that has inert underdeveloped seeds that can't be used to grow a new plant but they are still seeds! That's a "fact" Jack!
This is a lie!! Natural wild bananas do have seeds..and big ones! This kind of bananas has been prepared over the century´s to grow without seeds. Eating bananas with seeds can be a little bit annoying...but more natural!
***** What part is she lying about, can you extrapolate, I want to know. There are plenty of seeded bananas. This link is to a website that sells seeds for hobby growing. www.seedman.com/banana.htm Yes, a seedless banana or a seedless grape are seedless because of an mutation or a hybrid. Humans think the seeds are undesirable so therefor propagate the plant. I think that is no problem, even a good thing. The problem of commercialization of banana's is that all the plants are genetically the same plant. Which means disease can take over quickly, once the disease has taken over one plant, it will have no challenges to take over all the other plants. It would be great if farmers and the market didn't rely on one variety, but plenty in the same field. It will reduce the damage of disease and open customers, like myself to more variety. How one go's about 'genetically altering' a plant is by getting the plant to produce seeds and select for desirable traits, a banana takes quite extensive research to improve, market banana's are no exception. Bare in my mind there is not a day that I don't learn something. :) Thank-you for complimenting me.
