I saw a re-edited version by David Lean at a starry premiere in London back in the Eighties. O'Toole and Lean were there. It was on the biggest screen available and it was magnifiicent.
Such an excellent film with superb action and visuals. I’ve had this in my library for 30 years.. yes vhs and now DVD. We still watch it at least every two years .
Probably the last of the greatest cinematography production film ever made before the introduction of modern computerized imagery. David Lean the director to whom we are to be reconnaissant to give us this great picture has inspired one of today’s greatest director, Steven Spielberg
Yep. That's why some of the most accomplished modern directors are still trying to do as much in-camera as possible. Digital artists can be brilliant and talented, but it's still hard to beat the alchemy done by joining reality and the optical / mechanical device of the camera. What they accomplished in this film the gold standard.
My favorite movie. Disliked the trailer because it shows too much. Better to play more of the music, which is what caused me to watch the movie initially and more of the beginning and possibly the rescue of Gasim.

Love too see it in a modern theater with modern sound. It's an amazing movie. Top ten ever made.

This movie has to be seen in a movie hall with a wide screen: it's a mesmerising experience!
