    Hi there! I think I'm doing vlogmas this year? I don't know if I will be able to keep up with this, but I would love to know your thoughts on the video if you could spare some time to comment :) Would also love to hear what you'd like to see from me this month in terms of daily vlogging and if there's anything you think I could improve on :) Cheers!
    *I edited out the desginer's name by mistake but this is of course a design of My Favourite Things Knitwear. The link to the Ravelry Pattern Page is in the description box above :)

    It would be fantastic if you could do vlogmas, but don't stress yourself out. I think the sweater is stunning, and I loved seeing the knitting flat process. I like your vintage pattern content, if that helps give you video ideas. Happy knitting 💚🧶🩷

    Oh hey I am working on my Norma Sweater while I watch this! I also decided to split for sleeves earlier and make the sleeve circumference smaller. Yours looks great!

    This is very interesting! I am a long time crocheter but a beginner knitter and I cannot understand how you can make all these changes... you give something to aspire for. Problem is when I will be finally good enough to be able to understand what you are saying I will have forgotten this video exists (sad truth)... thank you for this, it gives much food for thought. Also feel better soon, I could not hear anything wrong with your voice.☺👍

    It’s so interesting and educational seeing your whole process, especially the modifications you made, as that’s something which I’m trying to wrap my head around as a beginner! A dedicated video all about modifications and the impact they can have would be fascinating! Looking forward to the rest of the month 😊

      @SejiFields  Місяць тому +1

      Thanks so much!! Ah yeah I think that could be really interesting, I have two Japanese book all about sweater modifications and it's super interesting to see how a modification at one particular point could impact another part of the sweater, all depending on what the construction is. Once I feel more confident in my skills I think I would love to do a video on this :D

    Yes to vlogmas! I liked this video a lot because it moved along quickly. A couple of questions: 1) what bindoff were you using? 2) why was the person behind you waving their arm around while sitting at the computer😉?

    • @SejiFields
      @SejiFields  Місяць тому

      Oh that's great to hear!! Thanks so much for the feedback! ;D
      1) If I remember correctly I used the same bind off as in the pattern, so the tubular bind off.
      2) honestly? your guess is as good as mine hahaha. Probably vibing to some music XD

    I love the vlog content. It helps me feel like I have a knitting buddy of sorts! Vlogmas has a yes from me, but only if you’re able to do daily uploads of course. In terms of what I’d like to see, I don’t really have any requests since I watch all videos you upload so that’s a good thing I guess?😅 wishing you good luck for vlogmas!✨✨

      Wow oh thank you so much for watching my stuff!! I'm a bit nervous, I'm editing the first vlog now and I'm just talking for ages about knitting XD I think I'll upload it and see how it goes from there :)

    I gave up on tubular cast on after trying a couple of times, but now I want to see the tutorial you recommended. Maybe there's hope for me.

    Your sweater turned out great, looks so good! I would watch vlogmas 👀, it’s nice to have company while knitting my own sweater 😊. For subjects idk, wips, plans, or just cosy knitting. Also, groeten uit Utrecht!

      Hi there! If you mean a step by step video there is none, but there is a pattern you can buy from the designer. There is a link to the purchasing page in my description box ;)

    Hi Seji! I love your vlogs. I am wondering if you have a book or source that you use to help you calculate your knitting math when you make adjustments? Also, when you use the Japanese short rows, do you use the same stitch count as the designer or do you have to stop or go beyond the stitch count so that it still works out? Hope that makes sense. The do look a bit more tidy. Happy Knitting 🧶 😊

    • @SejiFields
      @SejiFields  Місяць тому

      Hello hello! Sorry for the slow response! I have two Japanese books on how to make adjustments, but when it comes to calculating knitting maths, that's mostly just me (I have a degree in econometrics so I enjoy doing mathematics), but I hope to next year make a video on how I adjust my patterns. As for the Japanese short rows, I'm not too sure what you mean, but I figured it out using Roxanne Richardson's video on how to convert casting off at the shoulder to short rows. For some reason links don't work in the comment section but the video title is "Eliminate Stair Steps With Short Row Shaping // Technique Tuesday". I'm pretty sure she explains the stitch count for both the German Short Row (which the conversion method is identical to for the Japanese Short Rows) and the Wrap and Turn Technique. I hope that helps! In any case I'd be happy to answer more questions if you have any :)

    I love this video so much it really helped me!
    One question: how did you adapt the Very Pink Knits Cast On method for casting on in the round? As that video is for a flat cast on. Or does it not matter that much? 😊

    • @SejiFields
      @SejiFields  4 дні тому

      Oh I'm happy to hear that! Thanks so much for watching :) on the rows that she is working on the wrong side I mirrored what you'd need to do on the right side to achieve the same result. Like in the same way when looking at a chart a symbol will mean purl on the right side and knit on the wrong side if that makes any sense :)
