"The Chosen" is a new series about the disciples of Jesus that has exploded around the globe. As of the time of this recording, the series has been viewed over 180 million times!
And while each episode may appear to simply tell the stories held in the Bible, there is an incredible amount of historical and theological detail that might slip by the untrained eye.
In this video, I'm going to break down four scenes from the third episode of season 2, highlighting some details that will not only change the way you view the episode, they might also cause you to see and interpret scripture in an entirely new light.

I really felt so much sympathy with Matthew. The suffering he must have gone through hearing the condemnation from the other disciples.
When i watched that moments Jesus was sooo tired / exhausted, tears came down from my eyes. I seen myself to Jesus disciples condemning Matthew of what they’ve suffered that Jesus, the Messiah is the one really suffered but never complained. They got convicted same as me. Im just quiet but inside me i blamed somebody sometimes for my sufferings. TheChosen teaches me a lot and i never expected that someone like you ( God using you, i believed) to explain deeper some importsnt moments in TheChosen. I alwsys ask God to help me go deeper into His words, to know more of Him , i believed He answered me. TheChosen is anointed by God and you are anointed by God , you are right , i feel like im in the scene everytime im watching it. Our missionary ( cant say the country) theyre wstching this. Thank you so much , God Blessed you, all of you TheChosen, its a big help for our walk to God.
Yes and Mary his mother tending to him like he was still a baby and he so appreciated that. Powerful episode overall
Jesus was also doing it for his mother's benefit. She wanted to feel useful to him and He knew this.

Jesus Christ healed my grandson from brain cancer, I had buried my son from it. I took custody of my grandson and took him to St. Jude’s, Memphis, Tn. The Lord used them to heal my grandson.
@@wandafunderberg1290 I went to college in Memphis and my best friend, like a sister, worked there as her work study scholarship. During the summer vacation I lived with a lovely lady who worked there. I have learned that there is a relationship between St. Jude’s and Benjamin Bloom Children’s Hospital here in El Salvador where I now live. I am so thankful too for your grandson’s healing and grieve with you about the loss of your son. My husband also had prostate cancer but seems to now be completely free of it. I am so thankful for the life of Dr. Raúl Lara, the head of the clinic where my husband was able to go for treatment during the pandemic. Dr. Lara has passed away but I have faith that he is with the Lord now. He seems to have given his life for others because I think he was vulnerable to the virus, having lung conditions even before it started.
Thanks for giving me the gift of understanding. I have reflected, reevaluated, and I now have a new excitement on reading the Bible.
The last scene convicted me to look at the cross ✝️ and remember he suffered more for us. What I'm going through is nothing in comparison 😪 thank you Jesus 😊🙏

He cut teeth, then lost them. Had to be taught to walk. Was potty trained. He was truly human, and God. One of the beautiful mysteries.
I prayed that prayer. I am told I have a month ir so to live because of cancer. I will try to fight it, but I know I have Jesus. He will take me to him when it is time. I know I will sleep till he will return and Resurrects me to him.
The Chosen has opened up a lot for me. Mathew has blown me away as he wrote what Jesus said down. That was awesome to see and feel. The story of the group Samaritans. Was touching to me as he said, are you better than them? I fight over the Sabbath day and Sunday. Even.thougj I believe I'm the Sabbath THOSE that go to church on Sunday are believers. They are the same as me, because we believe I'm him. I am learning lots and have been learning about Christ most my life. I am 68 years old with stage 4 lung cancer. I don't need oxygen but the cancer is in my body I beat it before and still hope I can go on and follow Christ more. Hoping to attend a Sunday service as I really don't attention church because of my spirit has problems with what being taught at time. But I must learn to stop having division. I am a Gentile. I only hope he except me because of my sinful ways. I know there is a better place after this with him, yet I can't comprehend. Any how. I live watching the Chosen. The app is good but small and I can't chrome cast it on the TV for easier watching, but I do think you for it. Season two seems to be hard to put the episodes in order, but I am managing. Again, thank you for the Chosen. I am glad I have the time to watch it before I leave this planet. Just hope I get to see it all. Thank you and may God Bless you all. It truly is a blessing. Thanks

I prayed. This prayer with you this evening as I lay down for the night. The hardest thing in my heart and has been for some time is the distance that I am being kept from my three grandchildren Rosie Morgan and David misunderstanding between their mother and myself and my eldest son does need to side with her to keep the peace for a nurturing home for the family, however I miss them so much, and do love them all so much. I prayed it. I was saved from sin decades ago already. But I am autistic and do a truly boring, repetitive job each day. My church kicked me out of Christian work once because the others doing the task at church did not like me. I am insulted and misunderstood, and my talents and mind undervalued all the time - basically, I am oppressed. If God can give his followers meaningful lives, make them fishers of men, that is what I want - to live a life of mission and meaning. I know that people of mission and meaning are often misunderstood and insulted too - but *sometimes* their words and deeds enrich others and make a difference. Sometimes, God uses them. The rescue I want is that - a rescue from meaninglessness.

Very good explanation regarding the law; Jesus came to fulfilled them not to abolish them. The love and truth is what we need and both old and new Testaments believe in both! The disciples struggled just as we are doing today but were faithful even unto death to follow Jesus.

I have felt that maybe I am not even worthy enough and although I am an educated person, why can't I understand the words and comprehend what they mean. Watching The Chosen has helped to put it in a perspective that is easier to understand and has given me the initiative to try. So I feel this show is helping to spread the word of God. But listening to your explanations has really helped and I am so grateful. I am a nurse and I can explain the in's and out's of medical procedures, but if the disciples had moments of being clueless, you can imagine how clueless I am. Thank you for all you do.

I have really enjoyed your channel and feel God brought it to me I started my relationship with him in 95 and I have seen his hand in my life ever since. I suffer from depression and anxiety and phobias like Paul I feel I have a thorn in my side but his grace has kept me and got me this far 27years. I have had ups and downs but he never lets me go I am the one in99 and can’t tell you how many times he has come and found me I trust him I know he loves me and died for me and I can never repay that Jesus I stand in the light and bow down and lay my sins trespasses and debts at your feet and ask for forgiveness and give you my life.

Thank you for inspiring me to deep dive into 1st century Judaism how they lived with such burdens of so many restrictions Roman occupation and poverty. Yet constantly acknowledging God by praying and memorizing scripture. You’re helping explain relationship, understanding or lack there of. We are so clueless in most cases. Lots to learn!

I’ve listened to nearly every video you have on your channel, Brandon. This one ranks in my top five. There are topics all over the media and in every path in life that I struggle with. What side would Jesus be on and I feel he wouldn’t take a side, but approach it in a completely different way. I wrestle with figuring out the answers. Embrace the struggle!

This was awesome!! It's been a long journey for me to get where I'm at both in understanding myself better and understanding the scriptures better. I especially loved learning more profoundly how Jesus took all our pain upon Himself and He was teaching the disciples to care for and love others the way He did. That's what it means to follow Him. It's not a military battle as they kept thinking, or wanted to think....There were other things you mentioned that I didn't fully understand in The Chosen episode that you explain as well, as is for every episode 😄. I really grateful for what I'm learning.

I do think it's important to differentiate between the Law that *God* gave, and the rules that were added by the Jewish leaders to "guard" the Law.
Jesus disregarded the man-made rules--which was *why* He *deliberately* CHOSE to heal on the Sabbath (which always kicked up a ruckus with the leaders!) But that was *how* He worked to teach the meaning of God's Law, and restore it to its rightful place...or so it seems to me.

@@BrandonRobbinsMinistry Thank you so much Brandon for asking. Would you be so kind as to pray for my husband and father. I pray day and night and believe in the chain of prayer. My husband has a long list of health issues, diabetes, stomach issues, high blood pressure and antibody syndrome (prone to clotting), and is on injections for the prevention of clotting. Originally he was on a rare blood thinner (on it for 15yrs) instead of injections but the mfg company stopped producing them. When covid hit the country and everything just stopped. Doctors are on top of this. He tried going on a few other thinners but unfortunately suffered a adrenal hemorrhage and then a stroke. My father was just recently released from hospital. He had two blood transfusions due to low hemoglobin and also has stomach issues. He is on medication for that. Brandon, I apologize for the long msg but I just dont know what else to do. My heart is very heavy, there is always something to deal with. Thank you for your prayers and may our loving God bless you always and your family. Thank you.🙏💜
