Used to want one of these so bad in high school, AE especially. I now own a 2004 E46 M3, which couldn't be happier, BUT.. because of how much of a money pit it can be with all the projects, really thinking of looking for a nice Z31 turbo again to rebuild and be a daily replacement while the ///M undergoes further surgeries (aka rod bearings and head gasket replacements ughhh)! Awesome tires btw!
Turbocharged creations, Hello.. sub and like here, sweet build man love all the amazing noises that awesome Z31 makes. Hope to achieve this kind of power and set up one day, only on a Hardbody VG30E 4x4, only thing is haven't decided if to go Carburetor turbo or fuel injection turbo though..looking forward to the next episodes, keep up the good work 👍
Man that sounds awesome... turn it up... to the top. lol the blow off valve is almost dialed in perfect but your still getting a little bit of compressor surge but it sounds really good. I've got mine on my 240Z dialed to wear at idle it's open and the moment you touch the throttle it slaps shut.
Will you ever instal some sort of launch control, rev limiter? Something like a bee r? Or how do you tune it? Nismotune? Some sort or piggyback Ecu? They don’t make a Cobb for this 😂
How did you turbo charge it? Is this an N/A. Ive been looking to turbo charge my N/A 86 Z31 but i don't know how though, I've seen through forums but they say it's better off to throw in an RB or a vg30 Turbo and theres some who say you should throw in the parts of a turbo vg30 into the vg30e. The after market performance parts are hard to find like a turbo kit. Please help
Hey guys i really want a manual Z31 i have 2 choices between a 1984 manual Z31 that runs but needs alot of love or a 1989 Automatic Z31 that has low milage and is pretty well taken care of. The thing is i want a manual and i love the 1984 taillights not a fan of the 1989 ones But the 1989 is most likely more reliable and has the digital cluster i love So should i get the 1984 and switch the engine and cluster Or should i get the more reliable and switch the tranny and just deal with my least favorite Z31 taillights and build off that P.s im planning on keeping the engine until i have enough money to do a vg35 twin turbo switch But if i get the 1984 it’s probably gonna sit sadly until i can get it swapped out and get the digital cluster
@@floofy_wolfe383 when dealing with these cars, parts are getting scarce for them. It's always a good idea to have a parts car when working on something this old. You never know when something is going to break.
@@floofy_wolfe383 Unfortunately, it's how owning a gem like this goes. Can't go around not having a parts car. In my region, there is literally One Z31 to pull parts from at the Pick-A-Part lots.
I see that was 2 years ago how long did the engine last and what failed first or is it still strong and running just wondering building one myself a lot of people say good motors aren't strong what's your opinion

Did you put new pistons in if so where did you purchased them?
Does that truck have the right away at 55 seconds? I always seem to be pushed over by others thinking they have more right to be there than me.
Its a 2 way residential street, we both have the same right of way, was just a bit tight and some drivers dont know how to pull over all the way
Runs great wish you could have hit a little more that's alright
What wheel and tire setup are you using?
How can I get in touch with you sir? I will pay if I have too

Maybe wait a bit till the right car shows up for sale
Get both and then you'll have a parts car. Mix and match parts from the two cars.

What A pillar gauge pod is that? I've seen some people use the eclipse pods.
I think its called Lotek
where did you get that ported intake ?
Used from someone
fuckin hell that blowoff valve
What state do you live in where this is legal. I am looking for recommendations for when I leave shithole California lmao.
Canada eh
where do you find engine parts for this car? it seems like a lot of aftermarket performance parts are not manufactured or sold anymore
Z31online, pastpower
Single Turbo?
Yup
How much boost can the stock engine take?
I'm not sure about the internals themselves but the block can handle at least 40psi
VGs are known to handle about 500whp without being opened. The Vg has a pretty cool history!
@@rooneydawson8231 psi is irrelevant seeing as that’s a measurement that would be different between 2 turbos.
That is a LOT of valve train noise, sounds like a diesel truck
anyideas where i can found na2t parts for my z31? i know it's random but i have to ask xD
btw cool video
Ugh blow-off valves make me actually sick lol. It sounds like a kids' toy.
