As a conductor of a rural wind band in southern germany I have studied the score quite some days now, still insecure how to conduct this or that part. I guess especially in the solo/unisono rubato parts there is a lot of freedom how to conduct things. Your video helped me to check your way of conducting things, and showed me that I am on the right path. Although, I guess at long as conducting clearly communicates what I want from the musicians, instead of getting into the way or confusing them, there is not only ONE correct solution.

Thank you for your message, and I'm glad the video helped! There are a good deal of conductor "acrobatics" in this piece certainly. The rubato sections you mention - I will say have a great deal of rehearsing behind them. Have clearly in mind how you want it to go and show that, and don't be afraid to sing it to them how you hear it in rehearsal. It will help them to piece together how you want it to go with how you are going to show it.
