Because he ends up pretending he was simply following protocol to get praise from corporate leaders. He chose corporate over his fellow workers. THAT is why it was annoying.
I love how this show subverts the dashing male archetype. While Jonah is indeed handsome, smart and well intended, he's also incredibly naive and pretentious which makes him perfectly balanced imo. As Glen would say, "Who doesn't fall in love with Jonah? So Gorgeous".
Naive yes, but he's not pretentious. He truly believes in his heart of heart of his causes and reasoning. Others think he's pretentious because frankly I think others are emotional cowards: they are very afraid of discussing uncomfortable issues. He's not. So he's naive and brave. This constant showcasing of him being "annoying" is a way to give an imperfection. It's purposeful, because a bit of imperfection is attractive
@@churrothiev8387 His imperfections are annoying, he is the "white male feminist" archetype that most minorities can't stand. He's naive because his ideologies is so text book and out of touch. Jonah is the best character!! He’s handsome, funny, naïve, and sometimes annoying. But that’s what makes him so lovable! He and Amy really balance each other out.
While I agree that he didn’t deserve it, I also don’t think it would be realistic for him NOT to get bullied. The robber situation alone is enough to warrant a little workplace ridicule.
I mean when he keeps continuing his awkwardly anxious nonsensical blubbering with the extra stutters, of course most of people would hate him (like the time he accidentally hit Sandra's son and then blubbering again instead of saying sorry and telling them it was an accident, then proceed to try to play her anger off as a joke instead of regretting it) On normal non-annoying basis, he's good
Can we talk about the breakroom scenes? How often is the entire staff in the breakroom at (seemingly) the middle of the day. Who’s watching the registers and manning the floor? 😂
That was the only thing I DIDN'T like him for. I was def with Mateo and Dina on this one. Pets are better than the "millions of children" he is talking about. And yes, I'm the kind of person who would save a dog before a human 🤷
Jonah is absolutely INSUFFERABLE. I strongly dislike him. That being said, I’d be happy to have him as a neighbor. I may disagree with him on many things, but all the aside, he’s a good person.
Jonah is such a nice guy He could do better than Amy She is selfish obnoxious constantly mad and angry She never loved him He was always sweet and supportive and she treat it him poorly
Superstore was good for about two seasons. Then it became a whiny political soapbox for the show runners and fell apart. Kind of sad really. Same thing happened to Brooklyn 99 near it's end.
@@Kadavro It really doesn't. From season 3 onward it became the most blatantly ignorant Leftwing drivel one could imagine. To the point that it eschewed logic for ideology. He waved to the robber before saying 'hey' XD
