Just bought the same bike a couple of months ago. Also got the lowered Power parts seat, the Akrapovic and the Givi pannier racks which do come in black. Very happy with my new baby
DB killers out is easy - I did mine in 30 mins. Drill 12mm holes in line with the retaining 8mm hex screws (open out using a counter sink drill bit to 12mm) , insert 8mm socket on a 1/4 drive and undo the hex head, they click free of the weld. Then just pull out the DB killers with long nose pliers. I use rubber grommets to act as bungs in the carbon fibre. The other way is to drill out the rivets to remove the carbon end cap but only do that if you can't free of the 8mm hex as described above I'd suggest.

Seen Ricardo's one yeah , not gonna do that haha. I do wonder where i need to drill the holes so i can get straight on to the hex head. Don't want to drill 5 holes in the carbon fiber haha
@@LifeofSmokey it’s quite easy to see where you need to drill. You don’t need to be spot on with your 12mm holes of course as long as you can get the 8mm onto the hex head.
A pair of high lumen LED Denali D4 or D7 lights and Denali Sound Bomb horn would be lovely too. Otherwise who wouldn’t love the bike. Ride safe and ride often.
Cheers mate, I did also ruined my first screen protector, then I did download the instructions and did it properly with the second one: The trick is to use water with soap on the screen and on the sticker, then you can play a lot more with the position and remove the bubbles entirely :) About black stickers I did put only the one over the tank, the side ones hide the 1290 orange logos and a lot of blue. On your bike with a lot of CF details and black crash bars will fit very well though. And in my case side orange protectors looks very nice, but is a matter of taste :P

Best mod (and only mod I need) for The Pig are the KTM Rally pegs. They are SWEET for standup riding. Man this thing is a Cadillac, with stupid power for dirt use, love it.

beautiful bike I got the S model very happy with it are used to ride G S I don’t feel I would ever go back to riding BMWGS it just does not have the same sportiness feel all the off-road abilities of the KTM equal the GS totally

Hey bud! Bike is just awesome! 😁 Long story short about the panniers is just crash protection. It covers my 1200€ Akrapovic 😁. If i bought a bike for good looks i would have bought the new Superduke R. I don't want an adventure bike i'm scared off scratching or dropping 😁.
hey smokey I have a duke thats due its first service soon, as you know with a brand new engine you have to keep the rpms low, do you know if you can open it up after the first service or do you have to take it easy still?
You can open it up don't worry about it that much. If you open it up couple times is not gonna damage the engine if you have over 1000km or 600miles or so. 😊
I did get the tech pack but that brake light isn’t working or showing on the system, I got mine a few days ago too heheh 1002km I did the maintenance 1000km today , they are checking with ktm. I don’t have the answer yet from them.

I'm 176cm but also short legged , it's not really how big you are in total but more how high your balls are off the ground :-). For me it's also not flat footed wich is sometimes a pain. So i need to work on my skills so i don't need to put my feet down anymore haha.

Excellent video. I just received some protection for my own 1290 (been on back order for about 6 months) so your video is really relevant. Did you use alcohol to clean the tank prior to fitting the protective stickers? Does that damage the paint? More general question. When I got my bike I swapped the original off-road tires for road tires as I figured that I'd be less likely to drop it on wet roads during Melbourne's winter. Now it is nearly summer, out of lock-down and time to explore off-road. Seems to me that it would more straight forward to swap wheels than to change the tires. Is there any technical reason not get a second set of complete wheels set up for off-road? Other than cost. First adventure bike so possibly a stupid question. Thanks.
Hey Dion , i used adhesive cleaner from the brand 3M. Don't google for 3M lawsuit in Belgium cause they probably caused cancer on a lot of people living next to the factory 😅. Anyway it's called 3M and the number on the bottle is 08984 so google that and you will find it. But no need to worry , the paint on the bike has varnish over it so just wipe it off and you good to go. The tires will always be an issue for many. But for me personally i wouldn't swap what so ever. I live in shitty weather Belgium and here it can rain on Monday , sun shining the next day and Wednesday rain again so i would be swapping wheels everyday of the week. Just try it out , it's all personal if you ask me 😊

@@Ptpangel crashing will not damage the gps what so ever. Or if you hit a car in front of you at high speed and you totally wreck it. They your gps might be broken 😁
Couldn't find the manual on ktm website. None of my parts show a manual 😂. I have used soap on tinted car windows before. I thought this wouldn't need that 😁. There was even a protection layer on there and still scratches went through 🙈
The bike is one of the most impressive out there, please do not paint your crashbars - case carriers - and the frame protection kit in black . The blue color of the gas tank is impressive, the black color of the stickerset just horrible . Οrange is religion for Ktm funs.
My god that pipe is horrid and the after Market one. What the hell is Akrapovic doing lately. All their modern pipes suck big time! Fugly! Like the rest of the bike however. Enjoy mate. 👍

Makes no sense to me at all. Yoshimura make a nice range and some great gains. Road a Yamaha T7 with an Akrapovic pipe on it a few weeks ago. Didn't sound much different from stock to be honest. Waste of money on that bike at least.

I have a 350 FE Husqvarna as well so when i wanna go full send offroad i take that one 😊

I do enduro and adv bike for long time and if heavy then 100bhp and 100nm it's perfect match that's why norden 901 it's gonna be selling like warm bread in the morning 😂🥖👌I am hoping tu have it sometime next week in UK it's not confirmed yet... I will be buying one for sure. 350 husky it's great... I just like tractor 600 in offroad more... I think you will get bored of 1290r after owning 901 will see 🤔😂😉
No matter how good KTMs are, they are such ugly looking bikes and that awful paint scheme. Why cant they make a better looking bike with a blacked out paint scheme. That's the only reason why I will never buy a KTM.

Nope 😅. Might be my skinny behind but the ergo gel seats are not good for my behind when riding long hours.

M8! Is the screen at maximum height - is the top of the screen the same height as the GPS? Cos if it is, that GPS won’t last long!
Yep the screen is just as high as the gps. And when i scroll the screen up the gps goes with it. So all good , perfect fit 😎👌

Sometimes less it's more... And if you have 2 bikes 901 and 1290r you will be going to pull out 901 every time from the garage 👆😎
I want a mod that will allow that turd to carry gear and a passenger. terrible payload compared to the 890.
