For all those asking what it means:
When they say their babies were both born in the 99th percentile, it means that both of their babies were either bigger or heavier than 99/100 babies compared to their children. So if your baby is at the 50th percentile, then it means they're right in the middle for what is normal for them. 50 babies are bigger than them and 50 are smaller in comparison. Remember, percent means "per 100" so you get the percentile by comparing your babys size and weight to 100 babies born at the same time (they don't LITERALLY hold your baby up to compare them, just their size and weight is recorded.) This can help give an indicator as to whether or not the child will be tall, but it isn't surefire. I've known babies born in the 10th percentile and they're linebackers now lol and I know babies born in the 95th percentile and they're smaller adults. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Cute story: My mother-in-law used to take all the credit for her grandson being tall (He's 5 and up to my chest already). I told her there's tall genes on my side, too. She totally didn't believe me because my parents aren't that tall, but are on the taller end of typical average heights I'd say.
At our wedding celebration, was the time they got to meet first cousins on my dad's side from other parts of the country, that are taller 6"2+ (I have a few cousins around 6"8). Mother in law was shocked, surprised pikachu face. My Husband was like "I've actually now met people noticably taller than me" since he's a little shy about his height... which most people find surprising he feels that way.

This data based scale indicates overall health and in this case how tall they will be based on how they are currently measuring. The percentage or percentile is where your child falls on that scale.
