I've been doing it the hard way for a few months.... Now that I'm learning how to use these tools, I'll have more time for making peanut butter sandwiches (if he ever uploads that tutorial)
Here I am in 2022 and UA-cam thinks my videos are so bad they sent me back in time to start from scratch. Boy oh boy were they right! This is a great video and tHank you very much for posting it! (I'm still using Sony 15 - at some point it isn't the program it is the mind)
Hey, if you go to options and press the very first option "Quantize to Frames" you can get a perfect sync between your videos. :) It unlocks it from being stuck to the timeline
i cant use the audio wav visualization to sync up tracks because i recorded at a concert and so did my friend, but it was at a different section of the concert.. so our wav visualizations are going to be different, what is the best way to do this?
Dang, looks like multicamera is not available on movie studio 12. However the Takes feature is available - but I can't find how to slide individual takes to synchronise them, they seem locked together. Anyone know how to do that?
It took me a while to realize that I couldn't do what I was doing in stages. See, one of my handheld camcorders creates a new file every 2 GB or so - and it MISSES about 2 seconds when it does this. So it's CRITICAL to be sure you have everything lined up FIRST before you go to Multicam. This may seem obvious, but unfortunately it was less obvious to me. :P Thank you for your assistance sir!
How do i do if i want to colourgrade each camera separately? Bcuz when i add video fx to each camera and then start to multicam all the effects dissapears?
Is there a way I can make it more simply divide multiple cameras among the screen? I don't want to choose just one this time, and want to have multiple clips split across the screen. How would I go about doing this?
Great multi-cam tutorial. What kind of computer CPU, Ram do you have. I have a 6 core AMD with 16 GB Ram however my system and Sony Vegas won't play multiple stream simultaneously to do multi-cam editing for some reason. Thank you so much.
Hello, I use SONY Movie Studio Platinum 13 Here's my task: Video will filming with two different cameras to get different frame angles, and periodically switching between them (so, it's one of the typical scenarios to make video not so boring and to bring a bit variation). Both videos then will be connected and precisely synced with one general audio track recorded on separate audio device. So for that reason it's impossible to move video tracks horizontally to get cross-fades, because syncing with audio track will be destroyed. I want to get some smooth transitions between both cameras in one video, synced precisely with one general audio track. And I'm thinking, how it's better to do that.
Hmm, when I create a MultiCam track, it moves all my video track to the same track, whereas yours stay as separate tracks. What am I doing wrong? I've watched other videos and yours in the only one I've seen that stays separate. Help!!
At around 3:35 in the video I have all the videos lined up on different tracks, I select multiple tracks (press ctrl click on each track). Then choose tools and create multicam track it "collapses" them into a single track, around 4:15 it shows how to show the multiple videos in the viewer. I haven't used vegas in a while, and am not sure if they have changed it with any updates. I hope that helps.
After switches, I want to go back and fine tune the exact switch frame. Is it possible to do this in a single action, or do I have to push & pull each one?
I haven't used vegas in a long time, and I believe there is a way to select all the transitions (possibly control click) and then apply changes to the transition, but I can't remember the steps for that.
It has been a while since I used that software. I think it does. I recommend saving your file trying it. If it doesn't work then undo and if undo doesn't work go back to your last saved file.
@@SodaRehberi I teach high school. When I used Vegas we had PC computers with Vegas on them. When it was time to upgrade the classroom computers they bought Macs-which doesn't run Vegas. So I switched to Final Cut Pro X, but we also use photoshop so we have the creative cloud and use adobe premiere sometimes.
When I 'control' click the different video track they do not remain highlighted. Only the last track I click remains highlited. I am using Vegas Pro 15. May it changed with the latest upgrade?
Is there a way to get the version 13 pro, I do NOT want the 14 or 15. Trying to see if there are 2nd hand originals out there. Magix does not sell the old versions.
I used to do this in Pro 10 many years ago slightly differently. The multi cam option didn't put all the clips on one track. They were still on different tracks and you would create edit points on the video track manually. But I forgot how to do this. Does anyone remember?
If it isn't there, you probably have the studio version, the multicam is only available in the pro version. In the studio version you have to manually line up each track by looking at the audio one on top of each other then cut and delete each clip that you don't want. This tutorial from creativecow might help: library.creativecow.net/articles/hurwicz_michael/Vegas-10_Multicamera-Editing/video-tutorial
What do you mean you created a 1-second transition between the camera angles? Totally unclear. Does that mean it pauses for 1 second between switching views? Does it mean it fades from one to the next over a whole second? You have to explain what that means.
It was so helpful. Thanks bro. I though I would have to cut the vodeo every time I wanted to change the camera.

thanks! It's surprisingly simple. Gonna test it with the concert footages I shot before.
dude, looks so easy, much better than editing each vide, cutting etc.....cheers
Thank you for this great tutorial! Very helpful.
This looks great! I've been manually switching between video tracks and creating the fades.. looking forward to trying this out.

If there's overlap you should be able to compare timelines where they intersect...
my god I'd been looking for this for such a long time... now I'm gonna be a sandwich master!
(seriously thanks for the multicam tutorial )
You are a life saver here. I knew about the clap but forgot so i guess i will have to go with first voice. Now to give it a shot.
Thank you very much. This makes things a whole lot easier.
This video has made life simpler!
what about if you need to split and delete sections of the video tracks? can you select multiple tracks and do them with one action?
Thanks! now I know how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! you are a Lifesaver!

if you need to cut some parts because you messed up, will it apply to all clips at the same time ?

Answer: you need to click the actual video track. Not the far left hand side of the track
great, informative tutorial. thanks! :)

there's an option to "Expand to Multiple Tracks..." maybe that's what you are thinking of?

how to reset the switch?
I mean what if we made a mistake in switching
Right click on the video in the timeline and click on take, then choose active, a pop up box should appear then choose the take that you want.
thank you
