A VOD-watcher here. I agree that the way you have been posting whole streaming sessions with time-codes works just fine! No need to split them up into separate videos per game.
Hey, Ian (: I'm actually glad you decided not to split the vod. The guides already do the job (: I'm sure it's a lot less work for you not having to split and render everything separately (so you can focus on actual work) and, as a viewer (or listener), I watch the whole thing anyway so heheh here's my unrequested opinion. Hope you have a great day!
Ian not liking scripted losses because he's supposed to be learning kung-fu but then not learning/practicing the new moves is a big reason I like this playthrough. His Ryo is so special and it leads to a lot of fun moments. An absolute classic playthrough.
Hello! Vod watcher here hehe. Personally, I don't mind the games being smushed into the same video. I feel like the stream guide you always comment helps with any problem that could possibly cause. However, do whatever you wanna do! Thank you, and keep being awesome
I said this live in the chat already but I prefer the VODs stay together cause I don't necessarily watch for the game you're playing but I watch them for you or even the chat, it's just a whole experience. I don't even skip the intro or the intermissions when Im watching the VOD lol. Even if I just wanna watch a bunch of VODs of a particular game (like the other day I was watching a bunch of Mario Party VODs) I can just use the Stream Guide to navigate them. And I assume cutting up and rendering the VODs individually would be adding to your workpile and would probably mean that it would take longer to post the VODs, and I tend to watch them as soon as you post them (even if its at the middle of the night if I'm awake). So... yeah.
tbh I like the streams together with the timestamps you do, i don't usually skip but when i do those are plenty helpful enough. it makes it feel like i was there for the stream instead of missing it. but that's just me. but do what seems easiest to you!
I miss all the characters in the first Shenmue game too :( The plank walking bit got me so nervous! Oh man Ryo's stare at Ren was the best! That cracked me up! And I laughed every time the Delin chime came on! I like your new hair color in Animal Crossing! Bud will go back to saying 'Man!' I'm sure of it. If you're still considering on splitting/not splitting games on the VODs, I personally don't mind either or. I mean, if its too much work for you, you don't have to. Maybe you can treat a two game stream/VOD as a Double Feature since your whole theme is a drive-in movie theater and keep it in one video. Just an idea. Fun stream as always! :)
i've been watching vods and just recently made a twitch account so i could catch the streams live! i honestly don't mind the vods being one long video with a guide of what games start when. i think it makes it easy to look through and watch the games i have most interest in, but i could see how someone might prefer to have specific games split up. either way, really enjoying the streams! hope i can see more live!
I can see why people hate the 10 floors part but its actually pretty masterful how the pain of starting over actually increases the tension to mirror actually being up that high. It's also why the face Ryo makes lands so well. It's pretty genius.
As a primarily vod watcher and sometimes stream watcher (when applicable in my hectic schedule), I prefer having the whole stream in one, if I wanted to skip AC or Shenmue or anything else, I would simply use the timecodes you always post on these videos. I prefer to watch the VODs as they come out in order to catch up.
Like I said live, I would personally prefer them split up. But that's only because sometimes I just binge one type of thing on the vods for a bit, like mario party. It's not a big deal though, especially since you post stream guides, so I'm happy to have them kept together if that's what other people want.
You're killing me, had I been watching the stream I would've suggested what I /always/ say which is HHD as a job, either you go to work in town and take requests or villagers come to you asking to pay for you to design their homes. I tried mentioning it during the first stream :p
I've played through shenmue II twice... And just now I've learnt that in Hong Kong there is a moment where you can fight with the tomato girl, and if you win you get to gamble on a duck race... I think I'll try to find that the third time now when I get the HD update for the ps4 :)
VOD watcher here. I personally like them split up for the sake of playlists, but it's not all that important, especially if it causes more work for you.
I would love it if you split the vods up. It would make it easier to manage when I am trying to watch between jobs. PS: Love your stuff. Keep up the good work
Yep, I originally started watching the streams regularly for Friday Night Mario Party just in time for him to stop. Oh well, better for him to move on than for it to become stale, I guess.
I think for series, you should have cut up vods, but for things like Mario party, 1 off games, or wheel/millionare, you should combine. I think that's a good compromise
The animals can deny clothing?! Does this only happen in city folk? I barely played this version because I wasn't a fan of using the wii remote and I don't remember this ever happening to me in any of the AC games that I've played. Honestly what does she expect? Gracie clothing?
I'll be honest, I wasn't sure which game you were talking about at first. I forgot Europe's version of City Folk had such a long name. Its strange/interesting to me how a game can have different names between Japan, Europe, and North America, but we would all still be talking about the same game. I mean in Japan its not even Animal Crossing, its Animal Forest. Idk, maybe I'm just easily amused since its pretty common for a game to have different names around the world...
Anyways, Wild World and New Leaf are my favorites. I also used to play the AC gamecube version but as far as how good it is, I'd say its ok/good while the others I mentioned are great or very great. The town just felt huge to me and felt like it took quite a while to get anywhere location wise. It was still fun at the time, but newer AC games for sure are better in my opinion.
A lot of the time, the villagers in this game want clothing that fits a specific theme. Kinda like how clothing in new leaf is trendy or official for example.
You get a line I get a pole some thing something crawdad hole honey, sugarbabe, be mine! We sang that song in music class Minnesota but it was part of our like, multicultural music thing it was that unfamiliar to us lmao
Can some youth of today explain to me what the "water bottle flip" is? I saw three kids in the mall yesterday with a water bottle, and every time they'd come to a store they'd flip the water bottle and then scamper to the next store. At first I assumed they were rapscallions out to try to spill water all over the entrance to the store. Do you just try to get it to land right side up? Why? Is there a point? Does it mean something? Is it a protest? Is it a drug reference?
I'd think I'd like it more if you split of the VODs personally, I like the idea of being able to easily watch the games I'd like to see (Also I'd love it if you did Mario Party Fridays again!)
On the late topic of Blathers, I miss him talking about facts when you donate to him 😕 not a fan of him saying the same thing each time you donate. I prefer the vods to be not split personally, because I don't get to watch them for a few weeks sometimes and I like to watch things in order so I don't get confused or miss anything
I like Animal Crossing. I like playing it every now and then, I'm not die hard but I like it. But I've realized after watching you play it tons of times, and even if this is a new game: I Don't Like watching other people Animal Crossing. Good way to fall asleep. Lol. I'd rather calm down with watching some puzzle games. But this is just my input, not a demand. I was so happy when you stopped playing Animal Crossing and Mario Party, I CANNOT for the life of me understand the people who actually request those games for you to play because they WANNA watch them. Jeeze.
It's just a chill hang. I like the AC streams because since it's a game that doesn't require much attention Ian can pay more attention to the chat so everyone is just hanging out and interacting. And since I like the characters in the game I like seeing Ian's reactions to whatever weird thing Kapp'n or Tom or a Villager says.

I was gonna say the same thing! The time codes are links anyway, so you can just skip where you want. It works fine.
I like watching the whole thing. It gives the feeling of actually being there for the live stream when you couldn't make it.
Ian not liking scripted losses because he's supposed to be learning kung-fu but then not learning/practicing the new moves is a big reason I like this playthrough. His Ryo is so special and it leads to a lot of fun moments. An absolute classic playthrough.

"I've never played this game, why are a biker and a pirate chasing a lady?"
Fantastic description of this game. 10/10, Katdaily agrees.
A pirate and a biker who really don't know what the word "hide" means.
I miss all the characters in the first Shenmue game too :( The plank walking bit got me so nervous! Oh man Ryo's stare at Ren was the best! That cracked me up! Sad to have missed this! curious to see what Ians Lies are...

Back at it again with that 'ohmigosh'
I like the vod being in one piece :) it feels more natural to me ^^
Hey Ian do you still do Mario Party on Fridays? I always really enjoyed watching that. Thanks for everything!
He hasn't done Mario Party on Fridays for a long time sadly. I enjoyed those streams too.
Aw that's too bad. Thanks for telling me though.
No problem
Yep, I originally started watching the streams regularly for Friday Night Mario Party just in time for him to stop. Oh well, better for him to move on than for it to become stale, I guess.

Oh my that Xbox intro... Memories
As a vod watcher I say just keep on doing it as is like I feel it's way more work for you for a little convenience but I'm fine with both tbh
The animals can deny clothing?! Does this only happen in city folk? I barely played this version because I wasn't a fan of using the wii remote and I don't remember this ever happening to me in any of the AC games that I've played. Honestly what does she expect? Gracie clothing?

Ohhh ok. That makes sense. Thanks for explaining GamerMomma.
I wonder if Pinky likes Waluigi or Wario more.
Would you say Tomato is a modest town?

For Animal Crossing
I like having the full stream in one video but do what you like
Table hype!
You get a line I get a pole some thing something crawdad hole honey, sugarbabe, be mine! We sang that song in music class Minnesota but it was part of our like, multicultural music thing it was that unfamiliar to us lmao
Keep them together. Don't make life harder on you than it needs to be. ;)!
“3:04:55 Ian lies”
😂😂

Tomato time!
I feel like that should be someone from Shenmue's catch phrase.
I just got Amelia in my town!
If you arm-wrestle with your dad and beat him, maaan, you'll never know if he was just letting you win... ya dig? Today is totally righteous.
Keep the vods together, but keep the timestamps of when different games start
Yeah dude. Don't split the vods. Will only make it a hassle to watch them. :/
