- Kayla Henley & Jeremy Webb won the 2012 Junior 2 Division at this year's National SHAG Dance Championships. The competition is held over three nights in March. We have DVD's available for each night - Thur., Fri., & Sat. There are six divisions that compete, Jr. I, Jr.II, Non-Pro, Pro, Seniors & Masters. They basically dance there first round on Thur., second-round on Fri. and the Finalists from each division compete on Sat. for the Division Championships and Overall Championship. The DVD's for the individual nights sell for $50 each which includes shipping & handling. We unfortunately do not accept credit cards, but do take checks. I've watched this video a dozen times. No chance I could dance like Jeremy, but I love watching.
By far the most entertaining couple in this genre!! They compliment each other and make you want to watch them. That's what winners do! They don't need to be the best technically. They have to make you WANT to watch them! And this couple excels!! Would love to see this style on SYTYCD!
First time I ever heard this song and seen anyone do this. I looked at others doing the same dance and I must say this is the best. They were into the song and dancing. The others seemed to just be interested in the steps, these cats were enjoying the music too. Made it better than all the rest!

Truly enjoy watching this. My father, born in 1921, and now deceased, was called Shag. Why, because he, and my mother could burn up the dance floor and went on to dance all of their lives, eventually taught round dancing, square, etc but he always said he most enjoyed the Shag. So to you Jeremy Shag Webb........fantastic! Keep it always in your life.......and since there are multiple divisions.......win them all. Wonderful......so do wish my father and mother could have seen this. Thank you.
It's amazing that they do the same moves most of the time but your eyes are glued to HIM. He is just liquid joy.
One of the best male dancers I've seen since a guy known as Dr. Fuzzy was making the rounds in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The Doc concocted some amazing turns back then I've never seen anyone else duplicate.

These two kids are awesome, and Jeremy has some moves. I can watch these kids over and over....as a matter of fact, I have done just that!

...you say the man is the star. I danced like that in the '60's. Well, not exactly like that. To me it is not who is the 'star' but how both mesh as a 'team'. These two meshed as a 'team' big time! They both knew it and the smiles on their faces at the end...was magic!
This dude can get down! Love to see this in modern day film, a la Fred Astaire and Danny Kaye. Keep rocking!

A fabulous exhibition of dancing the JIVE! The rhythm & coordination is stylish and a treat to watch. Well done to both dancers who performed fabulously well. This brings back fond memories of the 50’s & 60’s when this form of jiving was at its best.

THOSE KIDS ARE GREAT .REMINDS ME OF THE DAYS WHEN YOU HAD TO KNOW HOW TO DANCE NOT LIKE TODAYWHERE THE ONLY WAY TO TELL THE OTHERS YOU'VE MADE A MISTAKE IS BY FALLING DOWN .
That has put a great big grin on my face and a tear in my eye,these two have better coordination than a lot of adult so called "dancers " all kudos to them hope they go on and on :)

Mary you grew up in a different age which was when music was changing and it was considered devils music. And here we are today with rock-n-roll in a different age also. I always liked the jitter bug dance, the male always did more than the girl leading them through the dance moves swinging &sliding them here and there. he does have the moves for sure. The moves of some of the dancer of today are just as good, incredible to watch. maybe in 40 yrs they will look back and say the same. Loved this.
That guy has such fluid movement in his dancing and such great control, he seriously needs to get onto a Broadway show stage to dance if they still have those!

For those who have been wondering what Kayla and Jeremy have been up to…they've continued to compete in the National Shag Dance Championships, Junior II Division. While they didn't not win their division in 2013, they came back the next year and won the Junior II title. They are competing again this weekend which will be their last competing in the Junior Division. I'm sure they will continue competing and will move up into the Non-Pro Division. Hey Robby, for those not familiar with the state dance of South Carolina, the Shag, traditionally the male is the centerpiece of the dance. The women have come along way over the past 20 years in the competition, but the male role is still the dominant focus.

Great to see young people take a interest in some fun dancing and open minds to good music.
