- A Film by Ashton Gleckman
The Hills I Call Home is a documentary that explores the town of Beattyville, which is located deep in American's Appalachian Mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Though it's one of the economically poorest towns in America (the household income in 2015 being more than $35,000 less than the US average), Beattyville is home to a strong tight-knit community that is anything but "poor" in regards to spirit. A story of resilience, family, and community - The Hills I Call Home is an uplifting film about coming together as one through times of hardship and looking to the future with hope.
No release date set. Entering the film festival circuit in early 2021.

Here’s the official trailer for the upcoming documentary I directed and co-scored with my friend, Michael Frankenberger! I had a blast making it and looking forward to sharing the whole thing, coming March 2021.
The mountains draw you back, so true . I visited every year for the 30 years I lived in Arizona and moved to western NC 2 months after I retired . To me, this is home , not the places I lived in the previous decades.
