    The STOKE is real!
    For those conditions: 9' rod; open face reel, 15, 20, 25# line. On a Sunny day like that I use pink Andy, and 1/4-3/8 ounce egg sinker straight to the hook You gotta' be stealthy; so no jumping around on the tin boat. And yeah they got teeth, but not shark teeth. lol. Take note of the water temp, water color, moon phase and such info. And hit it hard when you know they are out there.
    Thanks for sharing Captain.

    The Sudden Impact 8” white fluke on a 3/4-1.5oz leadhead gets those seabass real good when they’re up cruising like that. It casts well too.

    What is the deal with squid jigs, do they think it's food or a lover?

    • @yepyep340
      @yepyep340 10 місяців тому

      At night in the lights the squid chase bugs that look like the long beed part of these rigs. In my experience a purple color long bead ( 1/2" or so) works best. So IMO it's food. We where making our own rigs like these back in the 90's. Only a few of us used this style of rig back then. We needed them when the squid would not "crowd". Most guys would use, lover style type 3" white ones back in those days. We would take those apart for the pices to make our own.

    I remember watching one of your videos a while back & you were fishing for halibut. I remember you saying something to the fact that you could use how ever many rods you wanted to outside the Golden Gate (ocean fishing only). I was just wondering, where did you get that information from?. Because when I spoke to the DFG on the phone, they said we could only use one rod outside the Golden Gate from a boat for california halibut. Can you please clarify. I enjoy watching your videos & believe that you are very knowledgeable when it comes to fishing. This is the main reason that l've subscribe or follow your channel. I would really appreciate a response from you. thanks

    • @ChrisPfish2
      @ChrisPfish2  10 місяців тому

      you didnt speak to someone who understood your question or to someone who knows the rules. In a nut shell its like this. The ocean has "no rules". You can use as many rods or hooks as you want. Specific species have rules you must follow if you target them. Salmon, one rod, barbless hook, must he single J or circle, no treble, if 2 hooks they must be within 4 inches and cant slide I think it is. Rockfish is 1 rod, 2 barbed hooks, any placement or style of hook is ok. California halibut have no rules. Pacific halibut do have specific regulations. California halibut have no regulations besides size and limit. If your in san francisco bay, now thats one rod because SF bay allows one rod per person. 1st look at body of water regulations. next look at species regulations.

    I gotta say this, sorry it's long:
    WSB are super wary. Putting them on a youtube video is fine but wait at least 2 weeks. Adam got (rightly) roasted for this too.
    You're screwing up everyone's bite by posting these videos getting everyone out there driving over these fish. Other people have probably been fishing these schools before you found them and now are gonna lose their bite..
    Adam tried to defend himself by basically being like "whatever I do what I want and hey maybe I'll help someone get theirs"
    1) there's a culture and etiquette to fishing and WSB particularly have an explicit "don't blab" policy. It's just bad form and more importantly
    2) like I said they're super wary so getting all these boats driving around looking for them (since it's super obvious where you are) isn't going to help people get bites, it's going to drive those fish out and you're going to get people skunked and ruin a bite that's been going on.
    I hope you guys both change course and wait at least a couple weeks (or maybe post the vid in the winter when you can't easily film? Like "hey the weather's sucked for 2 weeks, haven't done a vid, so here's some amazing WSB action from last year" -- that would be a great way to avoid blowing a bite and give us something to watch when it's offseason)
    Anyway I know this is a lot to say but it matters to a lot of people and I feel like both of you guys make this faux pas not even really understanding you're doing it
