Question: When exporting through a codec, is that only for listening purposes too hear what DSP's are doing to the track(s)? Or is that a version you can hand off to clients to upload?

Excellent question. The files exported in various codecs are purely for testing purposes. For example, you can hear how a song will sound when played from Apple Music on a mobile device, prior to distributing your song. You'll still want to upload the highest quality file that you have to your music distribution service (DistroKid, TuneCore, etc.) without Streamliner's codecs applied.

"I just can't understand why the export option is so complicated. Wouldn't it be more logical for the plugin to be placed on the master output as the final control and to have an export option? In this case, I would need to export the track earlier and then import it as a reference in order to export it to a file in other codecs. It doesn't make sense to me at all, or maybe I'm not understanding something correctly. I'm wondering if it means that I can place the plugin as the last plugin on the master chain and export without adding any references. I think the older version made more sense and was more practical. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the plugin seems unnecessarily complicated."

Cant be the first to notice this, how on earth can you have a PA installer, a website etc and the plugin version numbers arent listed ANYWHERE?

At the bottom of each product page, there's a section called "Changelog" that lists the current version number, past version numbers, and information about each version. We've had strong community feedback requesting version numbers get added to the face of plugins, within the PA Installation Manager, more prominently on the website, and announced through video content like this. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. It helps a lot as we plan out initiatives for 2024.

Don't yell at PA because you don't know how to navigate software updates via the plugin or via the changelog.
