- Aunt Sophia and Mr. Drummond (Dody Goodman and Conrad Bain) convince Arnold (Gary Coleman) to give up junk food. Will he be able to resist?
From Season 3, Episode 11 'Junk Food Junkie' - Arnold's poor dental checkup has Drummond suspecting that the easy availability of junk food from vending machines at school is to blame. But when Drummond begins a campaign to replace the hot dogs, cookies, potato chips and soft drinks with more healthy foods, Arnold's friends try to convince him to get his father to reconsider.

That was one of my joys after school getting a grape soda from the vending machine for the bus ride home. Although the normal rule no eating or drinking on the bus I was sneaky lol

I think this is great because then they finally realized they should have just kept their big mouth shut or better yet shoved all that healthy food in their big mouth.

Well maybe if they actually improved the quality of school lunch, the kids wouldn't have to use the vending machines to get something to eat.
We had vending machines in the 90's in my schools. Had all the good things: Potato Chips, Chocolate Bars, Cupcakes, High Sugar Drinks....mmm mmm. Complete with another school that served only fried food in the canteen.
I wish I watched this today before I went out and got a burger this evening.
