The main challenge is job security.
Job security is an illusion.
Career security is what people should strive for. I would hope covid taught people this lesson.
there's little job security with full time employment these days.
There is no such thing in private jobs. I have been laid off without notice several times. When they no longer need you, you are laid off no matter how good your performance was. I received award for best performance for single handed development of $68000 project. It was cash award of Rs, 48000 + plaque. After 1.5 years, year 2008 recession came and I was promptly laid off. They weren't even decent when doing that. Tried to justify saying my performance wasn't good etc.
Love the how you are working on your job but never love you are working with. Recently i have realised that I am too much underpaid and my manager promised me to give me decent hike but after wasting my 4 months he’s saying I am unable to give you hike. So no job security no credits.

In the U.S., Contract work almost always pays 25% to 50% higher per hour or salary compared to full-time or part-time employment. Also, you get to keep more of your money on your pay check! I guess it's different in India and in Asia, in general.
When ever contract job is closed India will be developed
In India also contract employees get 30-40% more than full time employees it’s depends on the required skills and payroll organization.
Some organisations have open budgets from clients to contract employees and they provide 20-40% more than full time employees to attract candidates and i am doing the same.

I've worked at Apple, Inc, Best Buy Corp, Samsung Electronics and at Google, as a full-timer, and have never had more than 3 interviews to get in. I'm a Software and Hardware Developer.
that's amazing. I had 300 job applications with only one offer in the end. but I'd been a software engineer for 10+ years. unfortunately a lot of folks end up in the same boat. it's exhausting going to so many interviews too. and getting rejection letters 6 months later (cuz the process is that drawn out). had loads of experience and even an open source project in the industry. alas such is the job market (hit and miss)

I beg to differ with point 2, In my experience with contract employees the expectations are higher than full-time employees, and with lesser job security vis a vi full-time employees the stress levels tend to be higher.

They’re more invested in a permanent employee because they’re supplying them with benefits. The contract worker is seen as expendable, you’re the help..

I am working in a coaching institute for almost 3 years. In my offer letter it is mentioned that I am temporarily appointed. The duration of temporary appointment is not mentioned. Is there any difference between contract job and temporary job? For how long can a temporary employee remain temporary in a company?

As u mentioned some amount we have to give to third party it is equal to or nearby 50 % of salary , why should we give our hard earned money to someone just for crediting the salary that to after 15 days of month completion, nowadays it has become a thefting buisness of so called seniors or managers in corporates to grab money from others salary.
It’s good if you’re looking for something temporary and immediately available. It shouldn’t be a long term goal.
Started off as a contractor and then converted to full time position so I think it's a great way to start a career. But now I've been full time for over 8 years now why would I go back to being a contractor?

Can you please explain if I am hired on direct contract of specified duration as role of software engineer with any consulting or training institution for the freelancing project that they received from their client company with whome they receive a outsourced software project work, and I am hired by that institute on contract of fix pay for specified duration.Since that institute is going to pay me monthly basis and also going to provide me a experience certificate of my work after the duration of contract,will that experience certificate is helpful for me to get the new full time job,will that experience will counted as my employment since it is a training institute and not technically a IT Company and doing their business by getting Outsources software work from their client companies.

What she is saying is not true.
1. Contract employees have a higher bar. They expect more without training. I was thrown into projects day one in all my contracts roles.
2. Some companies do interview again to convert from contract to full time
3. Not all full time have 6- 7 rounds. It's more of 2 to 3 at most.
This lady has no idea what she is talking about.
I think contract job is way better for seasoned and experienced folks, as you can show your income as business and claim expense. You are required to pay taxes on your profits

&Do i need to get in writing as proof from them that they're going to transfer my payroll from third party payroll to my base company payroll if they're saying your payroll will be transferred after 6 months?

Dear, if someone has given you this feedback, I am sorry to say this is just to disguise you.. maybe the person didn't want to give clear feedback of the interview that's why they just blamed it on your third party employment.. its never this reason(in real)..

For your parent company we have to serve the notice period as per company policy.

faang companies do not encourage contract based employees because they value their data and these info shouldn't be leaked anywhere else.
Contract based employees often work with multiple clients and they often search online leaking the crucial info.
Dear Bharat, I am not sure how you arrived at this conclusion, the amount of contract employees work in faang companies is huge, there are dedicated blocks where the contract employees sit. Though its true that contract employees do not get the full access to systems and process/products; but the contract employees def. work in faang companies.

Dear you will get letter from consultancy, they can mention that you were deputed at GS, also in your resume you can mention that you were working with GS, when asked about it, you can clarify that it was through 3rd party payroll, thats totally normal.

Dear, full time is a position where you are a permanent employee of a company, while fixed term is a category where its already decided that in how much time your job will end, say eg: fixed term of 2 years means your job will end in 2 years in that company

No dear, PF is deducted only for a full time employee, if you are on a third party payroll, your parent company will deduct PF, but if you are not a full time employee of any company and are on direct contract, then no PF.

They have just issued a contract letter rather than a experience letter or releiving letter.

Dear, if there is no bond, then you can leave any time by serving notice period.. if you properly resign and serve notice then you will get your experience letter as well.. even if it's for 2-3 months

Poor advice, why are you encouraging people to take contract jobs? What if they are already in a full time position, and then they take your advice? Sure they are getting paid more but now their whole position is under threat every year or everytime his contract ends.

Yes it's Calling job, if you want growth then you can go for CRM.
Dear Abhishek, yes Arpit has pointed it out absolutely correct, its a calling job, and the only scenario when you should go for it is, when you need to earn and you are sure in parallel you can prepare for interviews for the job you really want to pick.. in that way you can use this job as a earning source.. but its not for long term, and make sure they are not making you sign any bond..

No . I don't agree. When you convert from contract to full time. There will be an interview taken by other project team members and different manager.
But Interview will be only 1 round And your reporting manager will do his background setting with other team manager by giving positive feedback and convey your importance in his project.

If the contract is extendable, it will for sure extend, if it is a fixed term(decided at time of offer only), then it will not.

I am also in tata company but they are not giving tata salary slip instead they are giving agency name on salary slip through which we were hired
