Many Years Ago, I Was At The Store And I Saw Heroscape On The Shelf. I Thought It Was A Set Of Action Figures So I Asked My Dad To By It For Me. When I Got It, We Opened The Box And Out Came Terrain, Cards And Miniatures. I Was Kinda Disappointed, But As I Got To Know It, It Has Become My Favorite Game Ever.
I had one little figurine left, and I couldn't figure out what the name of the board game was! I tried everything, even typed "plastic figurine on a circular surface" into google and eventually I gave up on that and typed in "2005 board games" and there it was!!!! THIS GAME WAS SO AWESOME, so expensive tho, BUT SO AWESOME.
You really have to admire him, Unlike most UA-camrs, he does alot of the scenes in one take, so it doesn't feel disjointed and incoheirent. It's nice to see someone that can get across what they are trying to say without jumping everywhere on the screen to do so.
Very nice introduction. I will be watching parts the rest of the parts also. I personally love Heroscape. I do not have a huge collection, but we have a blast with the the amount of terrain we have available.
I wanted to add to those that do not know the game. He has easily about $300+ invested into the game to have all that he has. The "LARGE" expansion sets run about $30 - $60 each (if you can find them anymore) and the small expansions are $20. We haven't even seen his characters. It is also annoying about this game that you cannot just buy tiles. You get 2 2x hexes when you buy the $12.99 character packs, otherwise you have to buy master sets. That brings a whole other set of issues.
it hurts me to watch that poor die-guy falling every time :)) i've never (and probably won't) played heroscape, but when i'm watching videos about it i really like how everything stacks together. I understand how one can have fun just by setting up a scene :)
Hey, thanks for this, Tom! I've been putting off playing this with the kids because it looked a bit daunting (even though I play Warhammer and other TTs! lol) With these videos, I'm inspired and will be breaking out my sets in the very near future.! :)
WOW you could be not so much more wrong. Ticalia runs $60 and I said $13 for the small/character packs. But anywho normally you have to go to hobby/gaming shops to buy unless you buy online and they run in between the prices I gave. Also I have to say that I've never heard of Auggies before and again you generally cannot find them at a store and must go to ebay or Auggies. Most of the user created maps online requre 2-3 starters (RotV) 1 (SotM) and 2+ of the other expansions.
Clearly I speak from experience and the two games are entirely different. Any hobby you get in to you can get in for cheap and the more you get into it the more you spend; that goes without saying. Sure you can build an almost infinite amount of maps to play with on one RotV Master Set but most of the maps do use more than one set/expansion.
thnx for this review I found this at toys R us and was intruiged but not enough to buy it I looked up a review and the search gave me this thanks to your reviews I went back bought that and several expansions and now and forever Thursday is heroscape night for me and my friends
I want to buy some heroscape sets. But they range from hundred dollars. I went to the website (Heroscape com) and the price range is forty to fifty dollars most master sets. why are sites selling them at high prices. Where can i buy trees, ice, and lava sets?
This looks really interesting, sadly I haven't had much luck finding it the UK without spending what seems to be 2-3 times as much as it costs over the pond. :
Considering the issue of durability, I have noticed my water tiles have started getting real brittle. I'm gluing them back for now, but usually one or two pieces break whenever I play, it's starting to worry me a bit.
Funnily enough old plastic that is colored blue for some reason tends to get brittle a lot faster than other colors. There's videos on youtube about Blue Lego just crumbling in someone's hand.
@@AFatalPapercut So blue plastic suffers from a milder version of the gold plastic syndrome ? Fascinating. All these collectors, stocking up on 70's and 80's toys... It's all going to crumble to dust within the next few decades ! How sad
i know i only ever got the marro set and no one i knew wanted to play it... i wish i could get more sets and maybe get someone to play the game so it could stop collecting dust.
@RTard48JRod Those are offered on ebay for outrageous prices... Just buy Masterset 1, 2 and 3. You will have quite a bit of terrain and also some cool rocks in D&D (MS 3). Also dragons from Orm's return are still cheap. Volcano and Ice are just too expensive for me (trees I bought in store for 20$ but it can't be found in stores anymore :( ) I have been enjoying HS for couple of years now and bought a lot of figures + my 3 yrs old son just LOVES it and I can see us playing best game ever.
NOT the same thing save for the fact they are both "hobbies". M:TG is a monster of it's own. Too many game types to validate what you are saying. For instance a good EDH deck will run $1200 yet a solid T2 deck can run $100. Not to mention you can always play drafts etc.

The best game of all time.
Still playing this game in 2018! Happy National Heroscape Day! (Oct. 20th 2018)

Best thing to do is go on eBay and buy the individual characters you want instead of expansion sets

Hey Tom, they just announced they are making a new version of Heroscape!
Great series of videos. I am a subscriber and I think you bring a lot of enthusiasm to your reviews and that counts a good deal. Keep it up Tom!
This man deserves an Oscar for his intro alone
Very nice introduction. I will be watching parts the rest of the parts also.
I personally love Heroscape. I do not have a huge collection, but we have a blast with the the amount of terrain we have available.
I LOVE HEROSCAPE So much!!! Tom Vassal you have GREAT taste!
love the new intro
Herfer Yep. It's so cool and new.
I used to play this a ton a few years ago. I really gotta start playing it again.
This would be a great collection to have!

You are so right there
I was into it for a while when I was younger. It is really fun so you should defintely pick it up.
You cant get them where I am :( Im looking thru storage to see If I still have them
I love that game but can never find it at wal mart anymore which sucks but perhaps I need to try a hobby shop or something like that
Awesome! but yes there's currently audio lag towards the end
This is a great game and you can make it as complex as you want!
i cant believe i sold this. im buying it again
4:07 lol "HEY!"
@GeekFive ebay. but its still kinda expensive. i spent like over 200 dollars on it like 4 months ago.
Clearly I speak from experience and the two games are entirely different. Any hobby you get in to you can get in for cheap and the more you get into it the more you spend; that goes without saying.

Wow great. Looks so fun I might buy this now :)
Holloweye .....did you buy it?

I played it today! It is super cool!
wish i would have gotten into this
thanks dude
this game looks super cool. what a neat idea.

@ezrs158 The DnD Underdark set.
best board game ever IMHO
i know i only ever got the marro set and no one i knew wanted to play it... i wish i could get more sets and maybe get someone to play the game so it could stop collecting dust.
what are the "shadow" pieces from?
This makes me want to play this game so BAD!!!!!!
Kevynne16 And?
I thought this would be a d and d but it is so easy and awesome

Why is it discontinued?
Do they still sell these?
I rarely play the actual game of heroscape because I play a Turn-based Stategy vers. of the game...where different terrain mark different kingdoms...
I've actually broken several terrain tiles trying to get the damn things apart. (I do like this game though)
Tom do you write your own memoir44 secarinos
I wanted rotv just for agnt. karr, but that one goes for 100-200 bones on e-bay!
Can anyone tell me where to buy cheep beginner Heroscape stuff
GeekInfinity no.
this game is fun as hell , and it is wayyyyyyy to expensive to buy now
A game that can take forever to make a terrain for to play on.
I was surprised it was cancelled when all my friends seem to have a box of it
@garoads Heroscape. Do it.
This looks so cool, but also super expensive.
It's unfortunate that I found out about this game so late since the game is cancelled and all.
4:08 "HEY!"
jonanjello hi.

their is a lot more to it
aha i think the durability test will damage your wall first!
its £24 or £33 in the first shopping list
now all they need to do is get other licenced franchises into the game, like transformers and g.i.joe
hahahaha the ultimate durability test!
totally babyproof lol
